June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Worst case absolutely would be a L to "Google Me, I'm a Winner" Cignetti and his "emerging superpower, Indiana, at home, with "Shout" going? At Iowa is conceivable, as is a L to the Mutts with the fog horn in a worst case scenario. 10-2 worked out fine for the eventual champ, who's season ended with a L to their most hated rival. -
June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions

Worst Case, Sans Injuries - 10-2 - and a return to the Playoffs. Best Case - 13-0 - Playoff No. 1 seed, play the winner of No. 9 at No. 8 in the Rose Bowl. The winner of this 1st round game will not be the committee's 6th-ranked team. (And No. 9 seed had better not be the G6 representative.) Two opponents in the regular season with Blue Chip Rosters - Penn State and USC. No Michigan and no Ohio State on the schedule. From 2024 through 2028, 2025, on paper, is OBD's easiest schedule. 2027 sees OBD at Michigan, at Baylor, and at home versus Ohio State and Penn State. YIKES! A ton of roster turnover, only 5 starters return. But this is a 'make hay while the sun shines' schedule. BOB THEM CATS! - Today

For me, June is a favorite time of year as the summer is kicking in, concerts are aplenty, and I know we have three months of nice weather to enjoy as we slide into football season. It is easy to predict the best possible regular season outcome for the Ducks. That would be 12-0. Which, if the Ducks execute and ... "So, after spending a Saturday watching Big Ten football games… I wanna tune into the CW Network to watch Colorado State versus Texas State in the evening?" Well, it didn't work so well either when it was Arizona vs Cal on the Pac12 Network or ESPN. Or, UCLA vs Oregon State. Or, WSU vs Stanford. etc. at 7:30 - 8:00 pm starts Pacific on Saturday night. I suspect the New Pac is going to see quite a few Thursday and Friday night games starting in 2026, in an attempt to garner viewers whose eyeballs aren't glazed over from watching football since 9:00 am. Maybe even earlier Thurs/Fri starts than 10:30 pm Eastern. -
Even with the bigger NIL offer I'd be leery of TA&M just because of their recent history with trying to cobble together rosters with enormous amounts of money, didn't work out too well for Jimbo Fisher.

Yeah, but I don't think it's a miss, the Ducks held their swing. A & M & USC are swinging for the fences, but it's the 4th inning.
