Ruh-Roh! Do You Think Trojans Are GOOD SPORTS After Losing to Oregon?
Definitely. I was underwhelmed by their QB. At times, their offense consisted of throwing up 50/50 lob shots to 3 NFL receivers.

A Great B1G Week 13 Review from Saturday Blitz
Should Maryland be bringing back Mr. September, Mike Locksley? Should Wisconsin have assured continuing support for Luke Fickell earlier in the season? Will Penn State defeat Rutgers and become bowl eligible? (If so, will any Nits players show for the bowl game?) Are four losses as low as the Fighting (?) Illini go? Or, can Coach Bielema manage to lose at home to Northwestern this Saturday? Coach Fleck, you need to find a kicker to help row the boat, or at least help with the bailing. Northwestern clinches bowl eligibility with a win over the Gophers that balances OBD's B1G SOS. Ohio State is not the only team looking to finish with a victory over That Team Up North. Ohio State -11.5 - OBD -7.5. A personal apology to Malik Benson, whom I questioned after he dropped a perfectly thrown pass in the Spring Game. 🤪 Saturday BlitzPower Ranking the Big Ten: Oregon Ducks sent a statement...Week 13 of the College Football season is in the books, and while it wasn't the most exciting weekend of the season, there were several games that had a massive

Coaches Poll: Oregon Moved UP....??
Not that I want or expect it to happen, but probably gives us some more hope of making the playoff if something flukey happens next week. Lot of football left to play, we could still back into the conference title game as well. TOSU has had a pretty soft schedule since the opener, and Michigan will have a chip on their shoulder, wouldn’t be shocked if they punched the Bucks in the mouth and won again to crash the playoff.

Coaches Poll: Oregon Moved UP....??
I guess Oregon passed the "eyeball" test, as the Ducks moved up to No. 5 in the Coaches Poll. I do NOT want to be a No. 4 or No. 5 Seed and face Ohio State before the final, and not liking a move up is not something I would have thought I'd be hoping for! This was a fantastic "education" game for our frosh defensive backs. (Finney, Iffy, Lopa, and Flowers) Lanning indicated that technique can be improved upon, and between the film room and this experience--we will be much better off in the future for this experience. Imagine if the Trojans had their top-three receivers out...

Penn State Targeting DeBoer
I lived on the border of SEC land (NC) for 5 years and can relate to the bubble and general nuttiness. It’s pretty insane imo, that someone like Lane thinks he needs to jump to LSU or Florida in 2025. He has more money than he can personally count…and they’ll give him more. He’s built it up so he probably is getting about as good of a year to year roster as he can expect to get anywhere else. The only reason to leave really imo would be to go back to your alma mater, or if he and his family actually didn’t like living there. You can do all these things anywhere and still need some luck for it to all come together in a particular year.

Or maybe they recognized that the refs were letting their offensive PI's go uncalled and instead called defensive PI's? Hahahhahahahha no they would never admit that the refs called something in their favor and it be the wrong call. Speaking of Oregon's defensive backs though they did a pretty good job. They kept USC receivers in front of them and there were few yards after catch. I don't know how Oregon's defensive backs could have covered some of those receivers much better or those PI calls any better as USC receivers were pushing off against them. Loads of slop to go around but the better team still won.

Time for my favorite pics when talking about ancient football things! The fact the two pics are 50 years apart (and that might not occur to somebody) only underscores how irrelevant these ancient things are.

Oregon The More Physical Team
Well, if we face Ohio State in the Playoffs....they have a pretty decent QB/Rec group, but your point is well taken. The Trojan receivers are superb, and this was a great experience for our secondary to learn from, and yet still win the game. You are a new forum member, DuckDuckTruth, (I love the handle name!) and it is great to see you posting often after you became a member. Do continue, as we love to see all new opinions, and I appreciate those who start new topic threads.

Oregon The More Physical Team
After Oregon settled down, the team really started to out physical USC. Causing problems in the run game and their passing game! With the strength of Oregon schedule they should make a title run in the playoffs. They should not see a QB/WR combination this good the rest of the playoffs maybe outside of BAMA/INDIANA. Go Ducks!

usc fans saying UO played disciplined is kind of hilarious. We played sloppy and still won by 15. But anyhoo, on to the Montlake Bundys.

5 major takeaways from Oregon Ducks' 42-27 rout over USC Trojans There was a lot on the line on Saturday afternoon in Autzen Stadium. Not only were the No. 7 Oregon Ducks and No. 15 USC Trojans fighting to stay alive in the College Football Playoff race, but they were also battling for West Coast supremacy, as well. The Ducks were hosting a large portion of their 2026 recruiting class for visits on Saturday, several of whom are 5-star players that the Trojans are also recruiting. With Lincoln Riley on the other side of the field, trying to end Oregon's impressive season, Dan Lanning and the Ducks needed to make a statement on Saturday.

Penn State Targeting DeBoer
I currently live in SEC country and find it amusing that you have 8 SEC programs whose fans/boosters legitimately expect to win the conference and national championship every year. They don’t seem to realize that there is only one champion, you are competing against some really good freakin’ programs with just as talented players and you need everything to fall in place for that to happen.

Special teams swings power Oregon past USC 42–27 in top-15 showdown Oregon beat USC 42–27 thanks to major special teams swings, including an 85-yard punt return, a leaping penalty on a missed field goal, and multiple Trojan miscues that turned into Ducks touchdowns. Here’s how special teams became the difference in the top-15 matchup.

It can be a useful move on regular plays if you time it right. It’s only allowed on FG attempts if you start your leap from the standing position.
