What Shocking Orange Bowl Ticket Prices Say About Oregon's Playoff Matchup
End this Bowl Extravaganza and have an FBS Playoff managed by the NCAA. Money is not evil. The love of money is evil. Orange Bowl tickets are going for much less money than the semifinal matchup between Montana and Montana State in Bozeman, Montana. Miami is a pro sports city. The U rarely sells out Hard Rock Stadium. Stop E$PN from serving two masters.

What Shocking Orange Bowl Ticket Prices Say About Oregon's Playoff Matchup
That’s way cheaper than what many of us paid for Penn State tickets. My guess is distance is playing a factor along with fans waiting until the semi-finals and championship games to make a serious investment into their teams.

I love tradition, but not with venues. Either make all playoff games (except national championship) home games for the highest seed, or select a venue as equidistant as possible between the two opponents.

Stranger Things About Texas Tech…
This is one of the reasons bowl season doesn’t really get me excited. All the good ones are reserved for the playoffs and the non-playoff teams get stuck with the leftovers. Meanwhile, the playoff teams get spread to the four winds. I guess it’s a good way to fill your case with bowl trophies if you’re good enough to be in the hunt for a championship.

Northwestern Tabs Chip Kelly as Offensive Coordinator: What Former NFL Coach, Oregon Guru Brings to Big Ten
Chip emphasized three things while he was at Oregon that have become elementary to good college football. The mesh between the QB and the running back that allows the Quarterback to read the defense before either releasing or keeping the ball. The tempo between plays making the “hurry-up” that formerly was used only at the end of the half or end of the game common to the first possession and throughout the game. Physical conditioning to the extreme, so that Ducks on both sides of the ball could withstand the faster tempo and increased number of plays. Since the opponents we not trained and ready to defend what OBD presented, both as Bellotti’s OC and as head coach, the Ducks under Chip won lots of games using players who had fewer stars coming out of high school. The Ducks won lots of games in the 4th quarter simply by wearing out their opponents.

I guess he's planning on NIL doing the recruiting for him. While I appreciate all he did when at Oregon, I wonder if he should be getting all that credit? How much was Bellotti? Or Helfrich? Was he a one-hit-wonder or just a flash-in-the-pan?

Great PFF Analysis of Oregon vs. Texas Tech...
Great points all around. My thoughts. Our run game will be key in establishing and maintaining long, sustained Scoring drives. I believe the ability to grind out 3-4 yards per carry between the tackles and 5-6 yards around the edge wewould be more than enough to wear down this stout TT Defense. Problem is TT doesn't give up nearly that many yards per carry albeit against slightly inferior and undersized opponents. Quarterback pressure, on both sides, will be another key to how the game flows. Our D has done a good job of QB containment but not as many sacks as you'd like to see after 13 games. As pointed out TT QB doesn't deal well with pressure. Making him "uncomfortable' and speed the game up for him will be important in forcing mistakes. Protecting Dante and giving him 3-4 seconds in the pocket and he will pick apart the TT secondary. TT don't blitz a lot but I fully expect several blitz packages to keep our O-line...on their toes...and give their free rusher several real shots at Dante. Not a whole lot of film on TT blitzing. Lastly, Play Clean, Green and Yellow Ducks from Eugene, Play Clean. Turnovers, Missed assignments and missed tackles, PENALTIES (especially those PI ones, late in games, that extend opponents drives by our Freshmen DB's), will be enough to sink OBD's run at a Natty for 2025. This TT team is full of NFL caliber players, as is OBD. Play to the best of your abilities and Play Clean and it will be difficult for TT to find ways around our coaching and talent to beat our Ducks and move on in the Playoffs (Playoffs???) in 2025. Dante Moore MVP of this game will be all you need to know that the Ducks won and move on. Win, or please No...Lose, this game should be one of, if not, the best game in the 2025 playoffs. Stranger Things About Texas Tech…
Thank you, Mike, for another terrific, in-depth article. I'll never forget that Crabtree catch, made more indelible by Chris Fowler on the sideline with his mouth wide open, in shock, I think? Lots of respect between Dan and McGuire. As Dan inquires, 'Why is this game being played in Miami?' (E$PN 🤬) That'll Be the Day when ESPN 'dies' and a quarter final is played in Lubbock, with the semifinals coming up Roses with a dose of Sugar on the 1st. Note: In Miami, all tortillas thrown over the line will be delivered (by Diego Pavia) to the home of Doctor Mendoza.😁 Will the 2025-26 PO be a bowl of joy for Campbell? I hope not. But if so, it will be a B1G return on investment. Uncle Phil deserves better. Don't Horse Around, Wreck Tech!
