New College Football Playoff Committee metric could endanger Ducks playoff hopes
🤔 Hmm… All we can do is win baby! Win Big!Strength of schedule means more in 2025. Politicking at playoff time will be more intense. The College Football Playoff Committee announced last week that it has “adjusted (SOS metric) to apply greater weight to games against strong opponents. An additional metric, record strength, has been added to the selection committee’s analysis to go beyond a team’s schedule strength to assess how a team performed against that schedule.” Autzen ZooNew College Football Playoff Committee metric could endan...Strength of schedule means more in 2025. Will Nebraska Ever Be Back?
Scholarship rosters are getting increased and walk one are getting more or less eliminated. But even with that change I don't think it'd help Nebraska because this benefits the best recruiters on college football because they can take bigger classes. Nebraska will need to reinvent themselves if they really want to come back.

Ohio State-Texas GameDay Thread
It's a B1G ask for Buckeyes QB Julian Sayin today. Rookie QBs opening against No. 1-ranked opponents are 0-18.😒 Week 2, 1984, some guy named Jim Harbaugh was in his first season starting at QB for Michigan and led the Wolverines to a 22-14 win over No. 1 Miami in Ann Arbor. Harbaugh's Week 2 victory is the benchmark for the earliest in the season CFB win by a rookie QB over a No. 1-ranked team. Ohio State fans will tell you that it wasn't skill; Harbaugh lucked out. 🤬

The transfer from Rice, who was paid $1.5 million to start at RT for TOSU, was beaten out by a guy who started 3 games for Minnesota in 2024. 🤑

Ohio State-Texas GameDay Thread
This match up reminds me of how I feel when SUC or fuskies are in a bowl game. I’m not actually rooting for them to win I just don’t want them to blow it for the conference.

I am really curious to see how good the Ohio State trenches are this year, after the major reloading from last year.

New Freedoms Allowed for GameDay Threads: "Go Ahead and Let it Go...."
Let's all commit to keeping our 'venting' to reasonable boundaries of civility and decorum. Follow the 'thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow OBD fan' directive on the forum. Allow Charles to enjoy the game and not have to keep getting out the radar gun and flashing the lights on the police cruiser because of repetitive infractions. And above all.... Go Ducks!

Jim Leavitt...It is Never a Good Look to...
Orange is the new black Charles. It's hard to believe that Leavitt was once a hot coaching prospect after the 2007 season. One where he led USF to number two in the country at one point. Jim had to run that program out of a makeshift trailer as USF had the same facilities as that fake high school in Ohio called Bishop Sycamore.

Will Nebraska Ever Be Back?
I remember seeing kids wearing Nebraska jerseys in school when I was a little lad in the 90's. I remember seeing names like Favre and Aikman and thinking " What's a Favre or what does Aikman mean?" I thought they misspelled Favor and Ache Man. This was before I became a football fan, really sports in general. But Nebraska jerseys were prevalent nation wide. There were kids in Florida wearing Husker gear. I saw Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State to go along with Florida, FSU and Miami. I also distinctly remember seeing those old colorful Starter 90's jackets when I'd visit family up north. Those things had personality man. Seems like everything is bland and homogenous today. That's one of the reasons why I liked watching Oregon because they weren't afraid of being bold. But back to Nebraska and what many have said, they don't have that large following nationwide anymore. I still see a few Husker shorts out here in Arizona, but they are dwarfed by Notre Dame, Michigan, and Ohio State. Those folks are spread out everywhere and those Buckeye fans will do that OH-IO randomly when there's a large contingent. I do a polite golf clap and congratulate them for knowing how to spell. I'll tell you they weren't doing much of that in the 2006 BCS Title game though😂

Colorado Gets Outplayed and Loses Opener at Home
Loses and is significantly out-gained in yards despite Georgia Tech having 3 turnovers and more penalties. Also poor coaching clock management on last drive. Anyone else enjoy watching that? 😄
