  4. Oregon's Peyton Bair started the meet with a bang! opening the first event of the day with a collegiate record. The defending NCAA heptathlon champion ran 6.67 in the heptathlon 60 meters, an all-time heptathlon best. The record-breaking performance gives Bair 1003 points after the first event, putting him on an all-time pace.
  5. Ducks win 3-2 as Devin Bell has his fourth save. He gave up a hit which got moved to second on a groundout, but Bell created two more groundouts to finish the game. Oregon had 13 strikeouts today between Sanford (10) and Bradley (3) and the relief pitcher for Indiana had a 0.00 ERA with extensive innings pitched thus far this year, and the Ducks got three runs off him. Tough, scratching-from-behind win, as the Hoosiers had some great pitching Our Beloved Ducks struggled with, but ultimately prevailed. Fantastic pitching by Oregon today...whew!
  6. QUACK! DL 4* Zane Rowe is another recruiting win for Dan Lanning - Dan Lanning snags 4-star DL out from under Bill Belichick, Jedd Fisch, and others
  7. 3-2 Ducks after eight innings. Tanner Bradley got it done again with his sideways movement on his pitches. Three more outs needed...do you return the proven Bradley, or save him for another game and bring in Bell? (Who has three saves)
  8. 3-2 Ducks after seven innings. Will Sanford returned to create two outs and left with 112 pitches. Then Tanner Bradley comes in and easily gets the third out. Sanford going that long could enable Oregon to go the eighth inning, and Devin Bell in the ninth? That would allow both pitchers to return for another game, so that extra inning by Sanford is big. Burke-Lee Mabeus hits a big double off the CF wall, and Josh Schleichardt does a sac-grounder to move Mabeus to third. With one out Ryan Cooney hits a sacrifice fly to score Mabeus. Ducks are ahead for the first time this game!
  9. 2-2 after six innings. Oregon's Will Sanford pitched wonderfully, but he finished with 96 pitches, so his day is done--after he completed the scoreless inning. Maddox Molony mashed a moonball over the LF wall to tie it up!
  10. Lady Duck frosh Liisa-Maria Lusti won the Pentathlon by 32 points Oregon's Liisa-Maria Lusti wins women's pentathlonOregon's Liisa-Maria Lusti is only a freshman, and she's already a national champion! The rookie Duck took home the women's pentathlon crown after a long five-event grind, finishing with 4498 points. Lusti outpaced Illinois' JaCieonna Gero-Holt in the 800 meters by one spot to hold off her fellow freshman and secure the top overall spot by 32 points. Click or tap here for complete pentathlon scores In the grand scheme of things, Oregon picked up 10 team points thanks to Lusti. Illinois added eight team points after Gero-Holt's finish. An 800-meter DQ knocked off one point from Illinois' total after Meagan Humphries originally finished in eighth before a protest. With Oregon and Illinois as two of the top team contenders entering the day, that DQ could carry weight down the line. 12. 2-0 Hoosiers after four innings. Will Sanford gave up two hits, and two wild pitches that resulted in another run. Ducks stymied on offense...
  13. 1-0 Hoosiers after three innings. Will Sanford has got it going with retiring the side 1-2-3, but so does the Indiana pitcher. Let's go Ducks!
  14. Yesterday
  15. 1-0 Indiana after two innings. Will Sanford does not have his usual control today, but he got through the inning and kept them scoreless. The Hoosier pitcher has a terrible ERA, but that came over a couple of games, while another couple games he kept the opposing team scoreless for his innings. So I guess we see the good side of him today...
  16. 1-0 Indiana after one inning. Will Sanford got two outs, then gave up a double and scored him with two wild pitches. Not a good start... Dominic Hellman was left stranded on second...
  17. One event remains in the pentathlonThe pentathlon all comes down to the 800 meters. Only 18 points separates first and second place — AND both are freshmen. Oregon's Liisa-Maria Lusti and Illinois JaiCieonna Gero-Holt are in poll position entering the final event of the five-event circuit. Lusti moved in front on the fourth event after landing a 6.63-meter long jump to earn 1049 points. Meanwhile, Gero-Holt climbed the leaderboard with the top performances in the high jump and shot put. The result? 3680 points for the Oregon rookie and 3662 points for the Illinois rookie. If that wasn't enough, Vanderbilt's Janie Ford is in fourth place, just 134 points behind. The pentathlon 800 meters takes the track at 5 p.m. CT/ 6 p.m. ET to decide the winner. 18. It should be a good day for baseball--cloudy and not to hot, but not cold either. Indiana is applying a little strategy to their pitchers lined up for the three day series. They are starting pitchers with good ERAs on Saturday and Sunday, as those ERAs are very close to the Oregon starting pitchers. I think they looked at Will Sanford film (3-0) and his ERA at an incredible 0.92 and decided to put their worst against him and save their better pitchers for days with a better chance of winning. Our Beloved Ducks will face Reagan Rivera, (0-2) who has an ERA of 13.50 and thus why I think they decided to play him today instead of Sunday. I did not notice this during the game, but you gotta love it!

  22. I'm against the going away with signing days. I think too often "kids" see the flash of that first visit/promises and mistakenly commit (whatever that truly means). I like a recruiting open season. Kids can "commit" if they want or play the NIL field.
  23. Here are a couple thoughts... Bad luck two years in a row but for two different reasons. In 2024 we get to play Ohio State in the Rose Bowl... absolutely awful draw and EVERYONE has said that the No.1 seed should not have been given that draw of teams. In 2025 Indiana as the No.1 seed got the winner of Bama and Oklahoma. Frankly neither teams were that good for basically the opposite reasons. Bama had a good passing offense, nothing on the ground, and a defense that was fickle. Oklahoma had no real offense but had a solid defense. Arguably Bama shouldn't have made the playoff but the fear of the SEC over-weighed the committee's fear of Notre Dame. I think if Oregon had the 8/9 draw last year they get that second round win and move on. There was some injury problems in that Rose Bowl Game. Evan Stewart didn't play and his field stretching ability being lost hampered the offense. Jordan James went out with injury that hurt the run game... but by that point Ohio State had already destroyed the Ducks. The reality is that the Ducks played an Ohio State team that was super talented and finally discovered their chemistry. If they had done that sooner in the season they probably would have left Autzen with a win. This year we had a big injury bug coupled with the transfer portal. I won't go over the injuries again... but just think of the transfers out as well. We lost Jayden Limar who was getting the first string reps at the start of the year. I was never really sold on Limar to be honest but he definitely flashed success. Then there was Makhi Hughes who was a shock that he didn't make the rotation in a meaningful way coming in as the best transfer running back. But he transferred out and wasn't with the team either. That and the injuries left the Ducks with a change of pace freshman back (who will be great) and Harris who was the No.5 back at the start of the season. The other reality is that his least season's offensive line was a step back from previous years... I think the interior was better than in 2024 where Dave Iuli and Pregnon in 2025 were better at guard than Iuli/Harper and Strother. But the tackles were a far cry from the 2024 team, the Connerly was much much better than World. Lanning's Oregon teams have depth and during the regular season the Ducks have only suffered one loss in B1G play. They weathered the injury storm. But when you combine injuries AND transfers at the end of the season there just isn't any depth. Young teams suffer transfer outs... veteran teams don't. Indiana didn't suffer from the portal opening up because their first and second string were all veterans who were basically out of eligibility. No where to transfer to because they are out of time. The Young Ducks on the other hand saw a bunch transfer out of the second string because they could play elsewhere. I don't think there is any ONE factor in either season but a multitude of things. Some big and some small but when combined make it difficult to finish out the season.
