The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
I've watched the condensed Oregon State and Washington State season openers, and really was surprised just how far down they've gone in one season. IDAHO looked bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled than WSU. The only reason Idaho lost was from shooting themselves in the foot over and over with stupid penalties and fumbles. OSU just looked untalented and inept against Cal that looked same as they have for the last few years minus Jayden Ott. OSU and WSU have gone from P5 competitors to mediocre G5 teams in a year and a half. The PAC whatever absolutely will be a G5 team across the board. The only resemblance it will have to the former PAC12 is it will be league of parity.

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
I saw another take on this by Marshall Scott of Pistols Firing; saying he thought it was more of a nothing burger ... and then went on to explain why. Actually, both DL and Gundy gave each other a bunch of props in their initial comments. However, it was the sensational sound bytes that got all the media attention. https://pistolsfiringblog.com/three-things-oregon-coach-dan-lanning-said-ahead-of-osus-trip-to-eugene/ I think it certainly worked to garner a lot of attention for this week's matchup. Go Ducks!

Single Portal Window Coming???
If this happens as reported, Oregon might not be able to get transfers before Spring quarter. Winter quarter starts 1st few days of Jan. Registration to be done by Christmas at latest (I think). All transfers would have to start Sping or Summer, possibly missing Spring practice.

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
Mike Gundy: ‘I was being very complimentary of Oregon and their commitment’Mike Gundy says he was being “very complimentary of Oregon” when he spoke about its level of spending on football ahead of Saturday’s Power Four matchup. The Oklahoma State coach, who repeatedly mentioned Oregon spending “a lot of money” on its football program during his radio show on Monday, clarified his remarks during an interview with Rick Neuheisel on SiriusXM on Thursday. “The truth of the matter Rick is I was being very complimentary of Oregon and their commitment,” Gundy said. “The other things that had been said that day were that they’ve made a commitment to facilities, as we know. They’ve made a huge commitment to their staff. They’ve made a huge commitment to their surrounding staff and then they’ve made a huge NIL commitment.” oregonliveGundy: ‘I was being very complimentary of Oregon and thei...The Oklahoma State coach, who repeatedly mentioned Oregon spending “a lot of money” on its football program during his radio show on Monday, clarified his remarks on SiriusXM on Thursday.

Oregon - Oklahoma State Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc. (2)
Injuries were a big subject last season despite the Oregon Ducks' team success and they are hoping to keep those to a minimum here in 2025. Oregon will need to do just that if it wants to repeat as Big Ten champions and after their Week 1 win over Montana State, so far, so good. You never want to have major injury news, especially against a team such as FCS Montana State, where the win is nearly inevitable. The Ducks didn't exit the 59-13 win unscathed, however, but there's nothing that should hamper them against their Big 12 opponent this week. Here's a quick look at the names to be aware of going into Saturday's game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys: Oregon Ducks injury update for Week 2 game vs Oklahoma State

NCAA Move to Single Transfer Window Another Huge Edge for the Ducks
Great, now make the post season a recruiting quiet period and put the only signing day on January 2nd too. I'm not a fan our staff recruiting when they should be game planning in the post season.

NCAA Move to Single Transfer Window Another Huge Edge for the Ducks
The rich get richer, always. With a deep, talented roster that's built to make the playoffs nearly every year, the NCAA's proposed move to a single, 10-day transfer window in January is tailor-made for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. The proposal by the NCAA Football Oversight Committee still has to be formally adopted by the Administrative Committee, and then it has to survive the inevitable challenges in court. The change would go into effect on January 2, this season. If it does to come to pass and survives, it's ideal for Oregon in a couple of ways. The Ducks have been judicious, strategic and surgical in their use of the Transfer Portal, superb evaluators that have plucked players like Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, Tez Johnson, Bucky Irving, Jordan Burch, Derrick Harmon and Christian Gonzalez off the rosters of other teams. They've shopped judiciously while never losing a single starter to the portal in the three-plus years Dan Lanning has been head coach. Because the Ducks are so deep in talent, a single window allows them to know exactly who is leaving and what spots might need to be replaced, and the action starts late enough to not interfere with playoff and conference championship preparation. Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
While there are no guarantees (that we’re sure of) that Nike support will reflect Knight’s current level of commitment to Oregon athletics once he is gone, there are some state-wise differences between Oregon’s stature and that of Oklahoma State, and that of the benefit derived from Nike support of the Ducks by comparison to that of the Pickens Foundation for the Cowboys that leads me to think Oregon will come out okay. In terms of general, state-wide fan (and NIL) support, Oregon has only to deal with the appeal of Oregon State, while the Cowboys are in an opposite relationship to that with Oklahoma. Sports fans (and businesses) like the image of their state as a winner, and the team that provides that usually gets their support. Unlike Picken’s fortune (made as a business magnate, financier, hedge fund operator and takeover corporate raider), Nike’s retail wealth has a public image it tries to maintain, and is enhanced by choosing to back both individuals and teams that bolster that image. Oregon can now sit along side Michael Jordan as part of that Nike tradition as having earned that support.
