Evan Stewart is Dancing, Increasing the Chances the Ducks Could be too!
Obviously we would not need him this week, and then we have a bye week, and if he could join us for the final four games--get the rust off before the Playoffs...this could be a game-changer. So three wide-outs of Stewart, Dak, and Bryant/Benson along with "The Beast" Sadiq? If you are an opponent defensive backfield...that is a scary group to face.

Oregon = QB U?
I thought this was pretty cool. Way to represent the Ducks in the NFL! Four former Ducks QBs will be starting this week in the NFL: Mariota, Herbert, Nix, Gabriel

Evan Stewart is Dancing, Increasing the Chances the Ducks Could be too!
The way trainers and physical therapy work now will have him ready without as much lag time between injury recovery and physical fitness. In one of the earlier Ducks vs Them we saw McNutt working with trainers on rehabbing his leg. They were really working his muscles in some low impact ways. Such as the blood flow constriction where he had a strap around his leg restricting some blood flow and he was doing some light exercises but his muscles were working extra hard to build strength when he couldn't do any impact on them. That is really the modern physical therapy is to start the strength training as soon as possible because that keeps the body healthier. They aren't overworking him but they also don't want there to be a massive gap where he will need to work really hard to get into shape. Which could absolutely lead to him over doing it. The goal is to guide his workouts as they go and ramp him. So when they say he'll be ready... he'll be physically ready. I am sure he is working on the mental side of things already so once he is able to take reps in practice he'll be able to do so mentally as well as physically.

That’s awesome news though I hope he doesn’t rush back, health is most important. I’d also temper expectations as he’s been out for months and will probably need weeks to get back into playing shape and rhythm.

Oregon Football: Are the Ducks Postseason-Ready?
There are currently 9 teams in the Big Ten with a 3-1, or better, conference record. Each has 5 games remaining. Below are the overall, and current B1G record, of each of the next 5 opponents combined. 14-21, 4-16 - Indiana - face UCLA, Maryland, Penn St, Wisconsin, Purdue 16-19, 6-14 – Ohio St 21-14, 8-12 – Michigan 21-14, 9-11 - Minnesota 22-13, 11-9 – Oregon 24-11, 14-6 – USC 24-11, 11-9 - Iowa 25-10, 13-7 – Northwestern 29-6, 15-5 – UCLA - face Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio St, Washington, USC The spread in remaining schedule difficulty is pretty amazing. Indiana faced Illinois, Iowa, Oregon - with a bye before Oregon. Their other 6 B1G opponents are bottom half of B1G.

We invite you to always explore the “News” on the menu bar in the header. When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment! During the football season, podcasts were included with the game for that week. Podcasts still are taking place, just not as often. I also have noticed that the podcasts now are covering more than just football. For instance, the one following includes some talk about basketball. Those podcasts will now be posted under this thread as they occur. To see the previous podcast thread click Here as we will keep the thread to no more than 50 podcasts at a time. Check back often for some informative listening. This Thread is for Podcasts ONLY. You can always start a new thread with any of these podcasts for discussion.

Oregon Football: Are the Ducks Postseason-Ready?
The football athletes of today and tomorrow are getting much better than we we have seen even in the last 5 years. Domination is getting tougher and tougher. I watch about 6 college games and at least 2 pro games a week. The Ducks don't have any other probs than the others. Lets be honest Oregon looked bad against Indiana but they only beat us by an average of 2.5 points per quarter,---less than a field goal per quarter--Indiana is now considered #2 with one of the best wins so far.

Oregon Football: Are the Ducks Postseason-Ready?
Timing often is everything. Last year Lanning & Co coached 1 egg of a game, in the playoffs against tOSU. So far this year, against Indiana. Let that be our learning curve. We have some solid games left after this week. Any let-downs could result in a loss. The PSU collapse doesn't allow us any leeway. Those final 4 games will prove our mettle and convince us all how ready our Ducks are. I don't think any team yet has shown the consistency and talent to go all the way. No one team, IMO, looks dominant. This year's playoffs will be the determining factor and our Ducks are as capable as any team so far.

My Outlet for Ineffective Coaching Adjustments vs Indiana was . . . a Poem Video
I couldn't find a way to express my frustration with the offensive and defensive calls in the second half against IU. Until I realized the pathway was through some hard-hitting metaphors in poetry. And of course it would have to be set to music. So herewith, the Ambient Poetry Review Of Oregon vs Indiana...

Oregon Football: Are the Ducks Postseason-Ready?
Go far in the PO? With or without a long winter's nap? OBD is in contention for the coveted 5th seed and a home game versus the 12th seed, the G6 representative. Win the opening game as it should, and OBD's 2nd round game in the Cotton or Orange Bowl would be against the lowest-ranked Power 4 champion. The 6th seed this season would also see OBD favored against the 11th seed in Autzen and a bowl matchup against the 3rd seed. Let Indiana and Ohio State beat one another up on December 6th in a 13th game in Indianapolis, with the winner having to go bye-bye for three plus weeks. Make it as the 5th or 6th seed, and I see Oregon playing in a semifinal game in the Fiesta (ideal) or the Peach Bowl. TCB versus the Baggers, er, Badgers 😁, and we'll find out on November 4th how the PO Committee views OBD and its Strength Of Schedule and Strength Of Record to date. (Thank you very little Penn State.) SC is off this week. A 5-2 UW defeat of 5-2 No. 23 Illinois in Seattle would help the Ducks' SOS down the road. The Floyd of Rosedale game from OBD's POV is a push; Iowa and Minnesota are back-to-back on Oregon's schedule. The B1G has some interesting trophy games. Last week, Indiana defeated Michigan State and won a ... Spittoon. Gag! The Floyd of Rosedale trophy carries an impressive name, but it's lipstick on a pig. 🤪 Here's a B1G prediction that is a lock - Rutgers vs. Purdue will draw fewer than four million viewers. 🙃 This Saturday Only, it's OK to Waste Wisky!

A New Stein-Threat, and Pate Pushes Oregon to His No. 3?
I might add Texas Tech to the mix. We're just now seeing the fruits of the influx of oil money that has been getting pumped into that program. They will be a player for years to come. I think what makes Oregon attractive is not just Nike's money, but their vast experience in sports marketing. A&M proved you can buy the best players, but if you don't manage your NIL correctly it can be disastrous.

A New Stein-Threat, and Pate Pushes Oregon to His No. 3?
Thank you, Doctor. There is no ACC or B12 school on the list. Notre Dame may as well be in the Power 2 and would be if the Domers asked the B1G or the SEC for an invitation. No Miami, FSU, Clemson, or UNC. (And BTW, what in Hades happened to roundball on Tobacco Road?) Week after week, the SEC, B1G, and Notre Dame dominate the TV-viewer ratings. To the list of teams that have the resources and the will to win from the top down, I'd add Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and perhaps, Florida. Michigan also has the resources, as do Penn State and USC. The B12 is No. 4 in the Power 4 and fading. The games in the conference are exciting, but the close to entire top-to-bottom parity does not equal multiple teams in the CFB playoffs. However, it only takes one guy to buy a competitive roster, like Cody Campbell at Texas Tech. The restructuring of the ACC, in particular, is simply a matter of time, and teams will be left behind, ala Oregon State and Wazzu. This is why I think Jeff Brohm could leave his Mother Ship for a job in the SEC, or if promised the resources, a return to the B1G. Jeff Brohm at Penn State would be scary. Great post, thank you.

Ruh-Roh! Coach Waz Named as a Major Candidate for Tennessee Baseball HC...
Tony Vitello built a winner in a short time, and was 2024 National Champion at Tennessee, and he just got the manager job for the SF Giants! The Athletic named a couple of candidates to replace him with the 'Vols, and the first one was the Assistant HC, and then Waz. Below is what was written about them. Mark Wasikowski, Oregon Few have built more consistent winners. Since taking over in 2020, Wasikowski has led Oregon to five straight NCAA Tournaments and back-to-back super regional appearances. His Ducks went 42-16 this season with a 22-8 mark in the Big Ten. A former Purdue head coach and Florida and Arizona assistant, Wasikowski is known for fast turnarounds and strong player development, and could bring an immediate national profile. Josh Elander, Tennessee associate head coach The in-house favorite. Players and alumni immediately flooded social media with calls for Elander, who’s been Vitello’s right-hand man since 2017 and was promoted to associate head coach in 2022. A TCU alum and former Arkansas assistant, Elander has been central to Tennessee’s recruiting surge and clubhouse culture, and would provide continuity at a time of transition. I think they will go with Elander, but this does mean that every major college baseball HC job that comes available...

Oregon Football: Are the Ducks Postseason-Ready?
We have faced one very good team this year and failed the test. In that game, our QB looked like a first year starter. Unfortunately, we will not play another national championship contender the rest of the regular season (UW or USC could make the playoffs, if they win the rest of their games but they have too many holes to be serious challengers this year) so we won’t see how we measure up until the post season. I’m just not sure how our offense performs against an Ohio State, Texas, Miami defense, if we couldn’t handle what Indiana threw at us at home. Is Oregon’s defense good enough to win those games, if the offense is only able to score 10-14 points? Hopefully, the team continues to improve each week and Dante completes against our starting defense in practice and they throw everything at him. The Indiana loss seems to have lit a fire under the team’s a#% so I don’t believe that motivation will be an issue.

A New Stein-Threat, and Pate Pushes Oregon to His No. 3?
He did play for and graduate from Louisville. He left a B1G job to coach his alma mater. However, I think he would leave if he thought that their commitment to winning a national championship wasn't on par with those who are offering him a job.
