  2. Omigosh. A little humor from a writer at The Athletic... ---------------------------------------- A comprehensive case for the Pac-12 ensuring all of its football members continue to have "State" in their names: "The obvious next choice for Pac-12 expansion is Florida State. "1. Adds the Florida footprint to the premier West Coast conference. "2. A built-in rivalry with Fresno State. Who’s the REAL FSU?? "3. In their filing against the ACC, Florida State said they would have preferred adding Oregon State instead of Cal and Stanford. Now’s your chance, Noles. "The answer is too obvious for it to ever happen, but as we have seen, the simplest solution is always the most elusive in college football." Tallahassee is very near the west coast of a coastal state, after all.
  3. Because then the Pac-12 would have been dissolved with assets distributed equally among the 12 former members, and the Pig-2 couldn't have stolen 300 million from the other 10 former Pac-12 schools. They had to retain the name...

  6. Oregon Football picks up another prediction to land 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho The writing has been on the wall for the Ducks to land the 5-star OT, and another recruiting prediction — this time from On3's Charles Simmons — strengthens the case. On Thursday night, Simmons logged an RPM for Iheanacho on On3 with a confidence level of 60. This bumped Oregon up to an overwhelming 90.7% favorite on the site, ahead of schools like Penn State, Auburn, and LSU. Over on 247Sports, there are three Crystal Ball predictions for Iheanacho, all in favor of the Ducks. Oregon Football picks up another prediction to land 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks have picked up yet another prediction to land 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho in the 2026 class.
  7. Unless they're winning! In which attendance might be good because winning is still fun. And if they're winning they can dream of making the playoff... only to be outraged when they're snubbed.
  8. I could see them getting 12 million if they embrace that 7pm time slot and play hardball with it. I could see ESPN and Fox being ok with that kind of payout if they get that time slot filled regularly. But I DOUBT the Scrap-12 will consider embracing the 7pm time slot and they will probably all see themselves worth 20mil and prime time slots. They are still pushing this notion that they are a Power Conference but they are G6. If they were smart they'd leverage their west coast time slot to their advantage. But if they were smart they would have used that Pac-12 war-chest they stole and bought their way into the Big 12.
  9. For this game against a rested Gopher team, Dan and the team cannot come in with a 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' attitude, or Oregon's playoff hopes could be 'Blowin' In the Wind,' and sinking 'Like a Rolling Stone.' A loss would send Ducks' fans home with the 'Subterranean Homesick Blues', and believing that 'It's All Over Now, Baby Duck.' I'm sorry, Bob, but I wanted to recognize you and your Alma Mammy. I wonder if Bob ever attended a game without first paying a visit to 'Mister Tambourine Man' and stuck around 'Maggie's Farm' long enough to score a degree? If he didn't depart Minneapolis with a sheepskin, he joins Bill Gates as a fairly successful college dropout. Playing the week before at Iowa, where soon-to-be the B1G coach with the most wins, Kirk Ferentz, has gone 107-57, 65%, at home in Kinnick Stadium since 1999, followed by a Friday night kickoff aganst a team coming off a bye, is the 2025 version of 2024's eight consecutive B1G games without a nap. Easier, but still questionable. Looking at Minnesota's schedule, the Golden Gophers, if they can get by Cal in Berkeley Week 3, have a chance to enter Autzen 7-2, and fired up to hand OBD a huge upset. Along with Bob Dylan, I'd like to again thank my gifted Editor, who edits like Bob composes songs. Beat the Skis off of the Second Rodent on the Schedule, and 'Don't Look Back, It's All Right!'

  11. I am looking forward to seeing the football attendance for oac when a home slate includes Utah State and Texas State. The only conference draws may be Boise and Fresno. I predict a very New Mexico-like** late season attendance number of sub 20K for turds like TSU and USU. CSU not much better. **I admit I have a grad degree from UNM and attended a few sub 10K games while there. I do not see the reasoning for not joining the MWC. It would have been a much stronger conference than the Pac-Steight or the current MW. Beavernation needs a B-2 flyover and a bunkerbuster shot to the athletic department. Of course Beaverbob will do a press conference and claim that there is nothing to see there.

  13. They badly need to rebrand their logo as it is no longer even representative of the geographical locations for most of the schools! two total schools in the new conference can be considered as "mountain" schools (Colorado State, Utah State), yet it is one of the predominate features in the current PAC-12 logo. The new logo needs to be as boring as possible in order to properly highlight the generic, no-name places in each state that their respective schools call home! And a name change to the Left Behind Land Grant State Schools Conference should be legally required!
  14. Big Ten flexes its muscles against SEC scheduling.
  15. I am trying to figure out which is worse....adding Texas State to a conference, or calling the conference they are creating as the, "New Look Pac-12." This label has popped up in several references by writers in the last two weeks, with John Canzano being one of the primary promoters of the label. (Of course) I mean....how DO you portray the revised conference that is clearly much, much worse than the original....and everyone knows it? Are you really trying to pretend it is something better than it is?
  16. An 8-5 Minnesota barely lost to Penn State, and barely lost to Michigan, thus they could have had a 10 win season! A team to watch out for...
  17. College football is totally out of control! No salary cap! Unlimited free agency! Where this will end is anybody’s guess but it does give us something to talk about.
  18. Jon, this article did sharpen my focus on the game against the Golden Gophers, they did better last season than I would have thought. In 2017, PJ "row the boat" Fleck was a big get.

  28. Oregon Lands Red-Hot QB Bryson Beaver, What it Means and What's Next Oregon continued to pick up momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2026 class on Wednesday with the commitment of 4-star Vista Murrieta (Calif.) quarterback Bryson Beaver. Beaver chose the Ducks over the likes of Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn and others. After missing out on other quarterbacks like Jonas Williams, Jared Curtis and Ryder Lyons, Will Stein and the Ducks secured a pledge from the fastest rising quarterback recruit in the nation. Beaver earned high praise at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles last week, an event that brings 20 of the nation’s top quarterback talents together to compete in one spot. Beaver took his official visit to Oregon over the weekend and that was enough to seal the deal. He also took visits to Ole Miss and Alabama prior to traveling North to Eugene. The LSU Tigers were making a big push to get him on campus for a visit, but Beaver was ready to pull the trigger and hop in the fold with the Ducks. The newest commitment helps Oregon continue to expand their recruiting presence in the talent-rich recruiting hotbed that is Southern California. Beaver is the second quarterback from the region to take his talents to Eugene in the last two recruiting cycles, as San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln quarterback Akili Smith Jr. pledged to the Ducks in the 2025 class. Beaver’s commitment brings Oregon to 10 total verbal commitments and inside the top 10 of the national team recruiting rankings for 2026 according to On3. ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins break down the commitment from all angles and discuss what it means for Oregon, as well as what’s next in the 2026 recruiting class. PODCAST: Bryson Beaver Commits to Oregon Ducks WWW.ON3.COM Bryson Beaver is Oregon Football's latest commitment in the 2026 recruiting class with more big decisions on deck.
