  2. As with any former Duck, hope he lands on his feet somewhere Oregon P Luke Dunne becomes latest to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
  3. Yep. Gat & his Gators will be fine, on the basketball court and the football field. Despite what UW thinks, Uncle Phil's $$$ hasn't delivered a Natty to the football team, and 2017 will probably be as close as the basketball team gets to another Final Four. Money can't buy a championship, but you don't have a chance with nickels and dimes.

  5. I'd feel better with the following portal additions: 1) elite/starting caliber linebacker; and a 2) blocking tight end.
  6. Molony named to Brooks Wallace Award Watch List EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon shortstop Maddox Molony is one of 100 players named to the 2025 Brooks Wallace Award watch list, which was released Friday by the College Baseball Foundation. The award honors the nation’s top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. It was named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27. Molony, a sophomore from Springfield, is batting a team-best .352 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI. He has reached base at a .442 clip while slugging .664. In Big Ten Conference games, the Thurston High School product is slashing .366/.423/.662 with six home runs and 18 RBI. He has a team-best 16 multiple-hit games during the season while posting seven multiple-RBI games. In 2024, Molony became just the second Oregon freshman, and first position player, ever to be named first-team All-Pac-12 Conference. The all-league honor came after Molony etched his name in Oregon’s record books earlier in the season setting a freshman program record with 10 home runs. He finished his freshman campaign batting .315 with 31 RBI and 32 runs scored.
  7. Only if some special talent becomes available. Lanning and co seem super happy with their guys right now and I think there is some real concern of anyone joining could disrupt the chemistry. If someone becomes available who is like an automatic first rounder and is a perfect pick for Oregon I'm sure Lanning will take a look. But beyond that .. doubt it.
  8. I do not see any glaring open holes in the lineup that are not already filled by transfers, and young-guns getting their turn. Like...A'Mauri Washington
  9. It's tough being a 2 sport athelete, especially track and football. Being a sprinter he wouldn't want to add too much muscle bulk. And he has been competing in track meets. He recently came 3rd in the 100m with a 10.4 time or better. The 3 freshmen who came this year have been really excellent it seems, so good for RP to move on. I believe it leaves us 3 schollies to fill before Sept. Do we have any glaring needs to fill from the portal?
  10. If the House Settlement is approved which is likely, and $20.5 M is the cap on direct payments in Year 1, a B1G full share of media proceeds will make a difference (DUH .) Even with a full share, B1G money-maker football will always get the bigger piece of the Ducks pie in direct payments and in brokered NIL deals. It will be very interesting post-House, to see the percentages a Purdue and Maryland are allocating to football compared to basketball. In the case of a UConn and other Big East teams, basketball players will receive the bulk of the money. Many Big East teams do not play varsity football, same with Gonzaga. If Division Street and other boosters are not that B1G on CBB, it will be difficult for Oregon to compete for top players regardless of the age of the head coach. I think many B12 CBB players will be paid the same or more than football players. In the SEC there seems to be plenty of money for football, basketball, baseball, track + field, and softball. There are Fanatics everywhere, but Zealots dwell in the SEC.
  11. Yes, small ball is important. Runners on 2nd and 3rd is the Red Zone, have to get those in, especially with less than 2 outs.
  12. Recalling the Best B1G Football 'Moments' Best moment for each Big Ten football team in the past decade SATURDAYBLITZ.COM The Big Ten has always been one of the top conferences in college football. Having now 18 teams and the past two national champions the conference is as compet
  13. If this is true, that would explain a lot. Article won’t link, but basically it says that Oregon has a $2M NIL budget for hoops and that the top teams in the BIG are operating with an $8M budget. Just a moment... WWW.SPORTSCASTING.COM
  14. For the first time this season...Oregon is the underdog, and it would be against former Pac-12 foe UCLA, thus I think we will see inspired performances from Our Beloved Ducks. We will need it! While our Friday night starter, Grayson Grinsell, has had a great stretch and moved his ERA from nearly 7 down to 3.38, the Bruin starter Wylan Moss has an incredible ERA of 2.43, the lowest the Ducks have faced this season. Gonna have to manufacture runs! And play great defense.... Not this base!
  15. He's not Cooper Flagg. Sarr is an athletic 6-6 wing who is still growing into his frame but flashes big time upside ability. Needs to polish up his shooting form and become a better 3pth shooter. Gets good elevation on his jumper and is a capable 3pt shooter but doesn’t always put good rotation on the ball and is not yet a knockdown shooter. Excels in the open court and getting downhill to the basket. Has a quick first step and is aggressive going to the rim. Can play above the rim, score through contact and also shows good passing vision on his drives to the hoop. Has a lot of talent and ability but is still unrefined. Can be a bit wild and careless with the ball. Plays decent defense but reaches too often and needs to be more disciplined, patient and move his feet better.
  16. The record is great, 39-4. This weekend the Ducks can stomp on the Bruins in a B1G way!
  17. Hard to remember a bigger weekend in Oregon sports, this one is really B1G! Oregon has the opportunity here to make a STATEMENT!

  26. UCLA had thought Nico's younger brother Madden was in the fold. In an instant without a single visit or ties to Arkansas Madden signed on with Arkansas. Deal with this family at your own risk. One of the guys guiding the young man is a guy named Lavell Anders. A former Gator staffer who was let go for "reasons". Joel Klatt actually made a really good point in saying this is ultimately the NCAAs fault. For years now we saw coaches salaries going from 2 million a year to now over ten. Coaches have been playing this game for years and gotten away with it. Now that it's the kids it's deemed out of control. Let's be honest about the fact that guys like Mel Tucker, Jimbo Fisher, Willie Taggart, Lane Kiffin and Brian Kelly have been mercenaries that have no loyalty to anything but their bank account. As a fan of the free market I applaud them. You're worth as much as somebody will pay you. But don't act like it's any better for a coach to do this than a player. Contracts are pointless.
