The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Highly unlikely... Novosad throws a pretty nice ball and Moga has athleticism that Thomas just doesn't have.

Wisconsin Uniform Reveal: 'Grateful Ducks!'
Yeah this is fine. I was expecting something way more time dyed. But it's only the number and a badge. I think I might be a bit underwhelmed. I was expecting more. Even if it was more that would have been ugly... I was expecting more crazy. Oh well.

Surprised that Nike didn’t try something crazy with the unis for the tie-dye game.

I haven’t seen this before anywhere. Usually there is a solid backup pecking order but each week the #2 QB seems to change this year at Oregon. Perhaps Brock Thomas beat the other QBs out? Maybe we see someone else get the second string reps next week?

I was banned on scoopduck from talking and linking a FishDuck article. I think I have only ever posted over there 5 times. It's a crazy place over there that's for sure. Go there for the inside information come to FishDuck for the conversation. That's for sure. Thanks for everything that you do Charles.

A Quick Look at the Wisconsin Badgers, Oregon's Next Opponent
The Badgers are in a world of hurt. Here are the results of their last four games, all losses. Maryland 27 Wisconsin 10 Michigan 24 Wisconsin 10 Iowa 37 Wisconsin 0 Ohio St. 34 Wisconsin 0 See the pattern here. Not scoring in their last two games makes me think they have thrown in the towel on this season. We all know the most dangerous animal is a wounded animal. Hope our Ducks strike quick and hard and have the game well in hand by halftime. Go Ducks!

OK...maybe this is not so bad. It is good to have some fun on a game that will not be too challenging--right?

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Never seen this before at Oregon! Both backups have used their redshirt year, and both are in uniform on the sidelines...but don't play in garbage time? No facts or explanations on the other sites, except the same speculation as we have here. Just that thread on ScoopDuck alone is enough to make me very grateful for the community here. There are a ton of attacks on each other for simply disagreeing, or scolding each other for bringing up the question, etc. Civility is highly underrated.

Maybe Lanning is looking to make BT a Justin 2.0? He's an Oregonian.

Let's Discuss: 'Non-Oregon' GameDay Thread...
Thank you, Tee. But don't forget the Ohio State defense, which is playing at a historic level, after having to replace eight starters from the crew that won the Natty. Matt Patricia, with no college coaching experience for the last twenty seasons, was a terrible hire, to replace the all-knowing Knowles, right?🤪 Two old-time SEC games broke out yesterday - MO. 23 - Auburn 17 in 3 OTs, and Texas 16 - Kentucky 13 in OT. Thank you, Texas, for showing up at the State Fair before returning to mediocrity, right, Archie? After surviving a track meet against Tennessee, Georgia won a defense-optional marathon over Mississippi. A&M defeated Arkansas 45-42 in another shootout. Bama was solid again on both sides of the ball. LSU? Looks like Kelly blew $1 million of his own money. Florida refuses to make it easy to fire Billy Napier. I think we will see a rematch of Alabama against a gutsy, gritty Georgia team in the SEC Champ game. As you so noted, ASU won, but Dilly dallied until 32 seconds were left to score the winning points. And BYU defeated Utah 24-21 to stay unbeaten. How did Nebraska beat a Cincinnati team that is undefeated since and tied at the top in the B12? ACC - Aren't you glad you adopted SMU, Cal, and Stanford? SMU made Dabo and Clemson's season more cataclysmic. SMU's HC Rhett Lashley will be coaching where it Just Means More in 2026. proved Billy Bob and UNC can lose on both coasts. The once-upon-a-time Stanford Indians were unkind to the Seminoles. 1st impressions in CFB are often wrong - ask Mike Norvell and Kalen DeBoer 😁 Two cathartic games this week: OBD mugging a guy on horseback in Jersey (prepare yourself, Traveler!) and Mario doing Mario things to lead the nation's No. 2 team to its first loss versus not-ranked Louisville. (SC - Stop enabling Notre Dame!) Stanford plays at Miami next Saturday. This will be Miami's sixth game of the season and the 5th at its home away from home. The other game was played in Tallahassee, Florida. Rob, please take note of this. USC, please stop enabling Notre Dame's recruiting in California and its Independent status. In the B1G, you have enough trips to the Eastern time zone. OBD would like to thank you and UW for doing all you could yesterday to be unranked when playing the Ducks. UCLA? Make Skipper the permanent Captain. Hats off to Nico for coming back into the game after being dinged and leading the Bruins to the winning score. Penn State gave a good effort for the interim coach before losing 25-24 in Iowa City. And did anyone think that heading into Week 9 of the 2025 season, OBD's best B1G win would be the victory over 5-2 Northwestern? This week's I'd like to be his agent. Minnesota QB, RS Freshman Drake Lindsey, and not Nebraska's Dylan Riola, looked like the 5* recruit Friday night. Eight sacks of Dylan Raiola also helped the Gophers' cause in winning their 7th straight game versus Nebraska. Drake led his Fayetteville high school to an Arkansas state title. A 3* recruit, he received no offer from Arkansas, where his grandfather, father, and an uncle played ball, or from any other team in the SEC, and ended up playing for Coach Fleck in Minneapolis. At 6'5" and 230 pounds, he has an NFL player's body type. He is also a threat to run the ball. Someone please start the bidding at two million? Blast Bucky. Add a 4th Coach to The Pink Slip List?

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Yeah I'm not sure about it. Just passing it on for the hell of it. But again I have no evidence. I also don't know quite how official the injury reports are. They need to be filed in know but how definitive do they actually need to be?

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
So if both Moga and Novosad have burned their redshirt, then why are they not brought in to play or has Brock Thomas beat them out on the depth chart? Who comes in if we need backup and are in a real tight game?
-
The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Oregon's official roster on goducks.com lists Novosad as a redshirt sophomore and Moga as a redshirt freshman. Interesting rumor about a possible medical redshirt for Novosad. I would guess that the coaches hope to redshirt freshman Akili Smith JR.

I didn’t see Novosad on the injury report. It’s going to be hard to get a medical redshirt authorized if he isn’t listed as injured.

I don't think Novosad or Moga have redshirts at this point. Pretty sure Novosad used his in 23 with Nix's last season. Pretty sure Moga has also burned a redshirt sitting behind Gabriel. So I haven't got a clue what is going on but I'm pretty sure there aren't any redshirts here. Now.. i did read a rumor that maybe they are trying to get Novosad a medical redshirt and for that he can't appear in any additional games while being injured. But that's just a rumor and I have zero evidence.

I was wondering the same thing when Brock Thomas was put in to relieve Dante Moore. What happened to Novosad and Moga?
-
The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Quarterback #1 is Dante Moore and there is no debate. Now what happens if Dante gets dinged up (God forbid) in an important game like at Iowa. What is the real depth in this QB room as opposed to what is on paper. Is Brock Thomas really #2? Maybe he deserves it but is he good enough? Are Austin Novosad and Luke Moga both choosing to redshirt and are really not available? Is Akili Smith Jr. available? I am confused and not in a good way. Any thoughts?

C'mon....Admit You Were Surprised With the Game...
Very suprised that Stein used a few counters and misdirections in the running game. Those play calls froze the Rutgers linebackers and left them flatfooted. this took pressure off DM. IU linebackers were on their toes movIng and forcing pressure on DM. The biggest surprise was designed runs for Dante. All of this, coupled with strong blocking helped light up the scoreboard. It was exciting to see a massive Duck O lineman and Sadiq 40 yards downfield blocking for Dante when the turf monster got him. Go Ducks.....
