  2. If true they will just rest him for this game. And it wont matter. I'm not sure we even need to pass because their run defense is putrid.
  3. Guys, the Whiteout is only the fans wearing white. The players wear their traditional dark navy tops they always wear for home games. We will be in typical away game white outfits.

  6. Some more love for Mr. Mixon. 👍👌😎 https://athlonsports.com/college-football/new-oregon-starter-ranks-as-nations-top-graded-linebacker
  7. Defensively, we are solid. Approximately, 10 points allowed per game, even when accounting for late touchdowns when many starters are on the sidelines. Our defensive tackles should improve as the season plays out. Have to remember that they are big bodies, but they are still developing their in game skills working together. The linebackers will definitely benefit as they improve. I think Bryce embodies the term “special player.” How did he get overlooked coming out of high school for baseball, and football? He then worked his a$$ off to develop into a top player for both teams. Have to love a guy who bleeds yellow and green.
  8. College Football News - OBD 47 - Beavis 10 - Oregon covers -35.5! https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/oregon-vs-oregon-state-prediction-preview-2025
  9. Florida International averaged 3.6 yards per carry and, through 3 games, Penn State is holding opposing offenses to 2.85 yards per carry. Neither we nor Penn State has played a team as good we’ll both see on September 27th but I think the concern about Oregon’s run defense is valid. Ideally, Oregon would get out to a huge lead and make Penn State’s offense one dimensional but it seems like the odds of that are pretty low (barring a complete PSU meltdown).
  10. I’ve personally really enjoyed watching the versatility, instincts and skill of Dillon Thieneman. It’s fun watching Thieneman come up to the line of scrimmage and plug holes and make tackles like a linebacker, while also dropping back in coverage and breaking up passes. It’s only a matter of time before he picks off a pass. Matayo Uiagalelei has also been terrific (as has Teitum Tuioti on the other side). I would not want to be a QB on 3rd and long. Matayo is average one sack per game! I don’t know how you could list a linebacker or defensive tackle, given the rushing defense, thus far. However, Mixon appears to be the best of the bunch to me but it might be our weakest unit on defense.
  11. I lost track of where I saw it.. but the three linebackers all have very similar snap counts against Northwestern. Jackson had the most, then Mixon, and then Boettcher. I think Oregon's linebackers are fantastic this year as a group.
  12. Mixon has more of the natural instincts and isn't caught out of position as much as Jackson. Jackson seams to take less than optimal angles leading to arm tackles or being just a step behind a WR sometimes he can makes up for this with speed and sometimes he gets burnt. Jackson had gotten better at this but feels like the guy who never learned a technique because he's just so naturally talented.
  13. Alex, I think your numbers are very compelling...yet Mixon was given B1G Defensive Player of the Week. I think it was our own Mike West who told me that he thought Mixon's instincts in recognizing the play to getting to the gap was superior to Devon Jackson, and certainly it appears that Mixon has superb anticipation in the passing lanes! To me...it is "Good-or-Good." Is Beavis Ready for His Beat-Down?
  14. Yep, Lanning and the Oregon D staff sure can't develop players internally. Getting only 4 and 5 star recruits and proven transfers because of those deep pockets and NIL. Mixon was a 3☆ that played special teams early, then rotated in on defense, and now is arguably playing better than the faster and more 'talented ' #26, Jackson at the ILB position. Ditto Boettcher, who walked on for 'a t-shirt and backpack'. Mixon has shown the ability to play heady football, diagnose plays and respond quickly even if his top end speed is not elite. PFF may reward interceptions a bit too much in it's ratings, but it rewards Mixon in all aspects of his performance. He plays his heart out and like BB, brings his lunch pail to work every day.

  16. Our Oregon football program has been firing on all cylinders since day one of the season, and a ton of young talent has started to rise up the depth chart. Alongside the young Ducks, there’s one player who’s shock-and-awed all three games of the season so far. My personal “Best Defender of 2025” entering week four is Bryce Boettcher. Oregon Football: 2025's Best Defender So Far
  17. Fun to see. He's been all over the field in the first two games. Also cool to see that his ego doesn't seem to matter as I recall seeing him in on defense at the end of the game when starters had been removed.
  18. My sincere hope is that Oregon goes with black uniforms. Only remaining question in my mind is, if they go all black uniforms, should the accent color be green or yellow . . . I think I'd like the yellow. Actually, just found it. I'd vote for this:
  19. 24/7 Has some message boards and the writers are looking into it. So far hip pointer has been mentioned. Do not need him this weekend, so a minor ding shouldn't be an issue.

  21. Even though Oregon and Northwestern kicked off conference play with their nationally televised matchup, the league’s Week 3 slate was mostly about Big Ten teams trying to avoid disaster in what amounted to a collective tune-up before everything ramps up in Week 4. 23. Football Power Ratings: Penn State leaps Georgia as Big Ten teams own top three spots 2 OregonThe Ducks got off to a somewhat sluggish start in their early Saturday game against Northwestern, but they eventually found their gear. The final score was 34-14, but the Ducks were up 34-0 over halfway through the fourth quarter before the Wildcats scored two touchdowns in the final 6 minutes. The numbers allowed in garbage time like that are considered when adjusting these ratings, so there was no impact on the Ducks' standing this week. 25. Oregon and head coach Dan Lanning have the No. 4 recruiting class for the 2026 cycle. With 17 verbal commitments, the Ducks’ haul ranks second in the Big Ten, trailing only the USC Trojans. The Ducks have the highest average rating per commit at 92.60. LSU (91.59), Alabama (91.19), Notre Dame (91.02) and Ohio State (90.94) round out the top five.
