  2. TOP-TIER: How Oregon Ducks’ Quarterback Talent ELEVATES Program—Moore & Raiola Drive Success in 2026Oregon's quarterback room blends a mix of talent, experience, and depth unlike most in college football. The Ducks have the best room in the country. On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin breaks down the tight end room that Oregon's QBs will throw the ball to this Fall. Jamari Johnson is going to have a lot of weight on his shoulders. Josh Pate recently discussed the Oregon-Ohio State matchup this Fall and said that it feels like a rivalry. Is that really the case or is that title only reserved for Washington? 00:00 Oregon's quarterback lineup details 03:03 Dylan Raiola as Oregon's backup 07:29 Quarterback depth chart discussion 13:15 Analyzing Oregon's tight end options 17:28 Evaluating tight end performance 23:24 Oregon vs Ohio State analysis

  10. Even if Danny Devito recommends the sub? 🤪
  11. Fingers crossed, but I would be extremely shocked if Oregon came out on top for Stokes. How would they have NIL funds for this? Even if they did, they still need to spend on positions of need (center and PG). They already have two SFs on the roster, correct?
  12. Maybe I'm just nostalgic but Alger and Nemec were pretty good back in the 10's. They seemed to know what they could ask Kelly and Helfrich get answers from them. I haven't been too impressed with Oregon live since. Certainly not enough to buy a sub.
  13. I used to love triple A ball in the Pacific Coast league. I went with Grammy too--The Eugene Emeralds, Spokane Indians, Tacoma Cubs, Seattle Rainer's, Hawaii Islanders, Phoenix and Tucson had teams as well.
  14. I has no love for Fentress--many names for him that would not be appropriate for the board.

  20. I wish the Oregonian would send Fentress to Toledo to cover the Mud Hens.
  21. The Oregonian flipped beat coverage with Crepea moving from the Ducks to Beavis, and Ryan Clarke from Beavis to the Ducks. Perhaps not a bad thing to do periodically if you are a sports editor. Have been disappointed in Clarke's coverage so far. He does not seem to have the "inside sources" that Crepea had, and Clarke has minimal Tweets on his X account regarding Ducks athletics. Simeon Birnbaum set a new NCAA 1500 record this past weekend. Crepea would have had that on X, nothing from Clarke. That is just one example of what I'm observing so far. I don't think Fentress coverage has changed much.
  22. Oregon Ducks pick up predictions to land No. 1-ranked QB in 2027 classWhile Oregon has done just fine at the position, led by elite transfers like Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, and Dante Moore, it appears they've now set their sights on a high school prospect they're shoving all their chips on. That prospect is 5-star quarterback Will Mencl, the No. 1-rated QB in the 2027 class, per On3. This past week, the Ducks picked up multiple predictions that they will land a commitment from Mencl, who will officially announce his college destination on Wednesday night. On Monday, On3's Greg Biggins placed a prediction for Mencl to pick Oregon, and the 247Sports Recruiting Staff placed a similar projection on Tuesday morning. Mencl will choose between Oregon, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Auburn Tigers. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/recruiting/2026/04/21/oregon-football-will-mencl-prediction/89718195007/

  27. Thanks for the post, and thanks also, David, for the update. When it comes to the press, I think Coach Lanning is following the model of mentor Nick Saban, and when it comes to the media, Kirby Smart is not loquacious. Injuries? Unless compelled to report game availability, few coaches wax eloquent on the subject. Compared to the guy at UNC, Dan is a chatterbox. One of the best with the press was Oregon grad and USC coach John McKay. The man had a terrific sense of humor.
