Ho-Hum: Oregon Wins Ninth Straight Civil War Mens Basketball Game, 87-75
That is the quote that probably encapsulates the season so far, they have gotten better each game, but it's been a slow process, and I'm sure Altman isn't happy about where they are right now. Not putting away teams like they should doesn't matter now, as they didn't lose a game, and they have a great opportunity to pick up some crucial non-conference wins. After the Player's Era tourney they have the LA schools to open B1G play. Schedule is a lot harder now, and hopefully the close games they have had helps them pull through them.

Oregon and USC Need a Rivalry Trophy
Oregon and USC are in the B1G now and this rivalry needs a trophy to fight over every year. May I suggest... a Pac-12 Championship Trophy? Bonus of this trophy would be... it angers the Beavers, and Cougs as the last remaining Pac-12 members. It would extra anger the Beavers as the last 1.5 Pac-12 Champs. It would anger Washington for not being included. UCLA would probably not care so much.

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
Silly. A team (🤔) that went 2-7 against opponents they were on par with or exceeded for spending per player on their roster, yet still manage to keep choking, THAT is fragile. Fragile teams don’t win on the road.

I think she's just talking specifically about the Penn State, Indiana and Iowa games. She's saying that Oregon hasn't shown the ability to slam the door in the 4th quarter while holding a one-score lead or a tie.

Ho-Hum: Oregon Wins Ninth Straight Civil War Mens Basketball Game, 87-75
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2025 MEN’S BASKETBALL | @OregonMBB Ducks Claim Rivalry Win Monday Night EUGENE, Ore. — In a battle against an in-state rival, it was in-state natives who led the way. Nate Bittle scored 24 points and fellow Oregonian Jackson Shelstad added 22 as the UO men's basketball team knocked off Oregon State on Monday, 87-75 before 7,616 fans in Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks (4-0) now have a week off before traveling to defend their Players Era Festival title next week in Las Vegas. The Ducks won their ninth straight over the rival Beavers. "It feels great — I haven't lost to them in five years," Bittle said. "I know it's a big rivalry. We grew up watching this game every year." Kwame Evans Jr. added his second career double-double for the Ducks, finishing with 16 points, 14 rebounds and a plus-15 margin for the UO men when he was on the floor. That was the best in the game, tied with teammate Takai Simpkins, who scored 13 points. "We're going to need that effort from (Evans) all the time, and he's capable of it," Shelstad said. "When he goes to the boards like that, it gets everyone going and it gets him going." How It Happened: The Ducks began the game on fire, scoring the first 11 points — seven by Bittle. But after he scored again for a 14-7 lead, the Beavers fought back to within one at 21-20. A 7-2 run capped by a Simpkins three-pointer got Oregon's cushion to 28-22, but OSU answered with seven straight points to take its only lead of the night. Shelstad reclaimed the lead by banking in a three-pointer just before the shot clock expired. The lead was 32-31 when the Ducks ripped off a 9-0 run capped by another Simpkins three-pointer, and Oregon was up 41-34 at halftime, thanks in part to better shot selection than in a win Wednesday over South Dakota State that featured 40 three-point attempts. "We made some strides," UO coach Dana Altman said. "It's a slow process, but (having) Jackson out there makes such a big difference." A bucket by Bittle and two free throws from Wei Lin early in the second half gave the Ducks their biggest lead yet at 53-41. When it was 60-50, OSU put together an 8-1 run to make it a one-possession game, but the Beavers never could claw back in front. Two free throws by Bittle and a bucket for Evans got the UO lead out to 65-58. After the Beavers scored at the other end, Shelstad answered with a jumper, as he scored 12 of Oregon's next 13 points to deny OSU's comeback bid. "Shots just kind of started dropping for me," Shelstad said. "They're eventually going to drop if I take the right shots, and once I see one go down I get my confidence really going." The Ducks had an uneven night at the free-throw line, going 27-of-39 for the game. But they made their last four over the final 3 minutes, clinching the win. Notable: Devon Pryor returned after missing one game due to injury, scoring four points off the bench. … Jamari Phillips suited up for the first time after serving a suspension, and hit a three-pointer. … Program alum Dillon Brooks sat near center court for the game, and participated in a T-shirt toss during one timeout. Up Next: The Ducks open the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas against Auburn on Monday (5 p.m., truTV).

Pretty silly. Dante has played a very small percentage of forth quarter minutes due to huge leads.

Ho-Hum: Oregon Wins Ninth Straight Civil War Mens Basketball Game, 87-75
There we go! Moving in the right direction. Shelstad, Simpkins, Bittle, and Evans all looked very good in this win. I think we need one more to step up and join those 4 as the permanent starters going forward. I like Lindsay starting with that group, even though he struggled a little bit. He can slash and get to the rim and shot 42% from three his last year in JC and can stretch the floor. He is dangerous from everywhere. Plus he has the size and strength to help on the defensive side of the ball. Stewart and Pryor should be first off the bench and contribute significant minutes and that is exactly how it played out last night. From there, the bench is going to start shortening I suspect.

Not to mention the fewest defensive yards allowed per play in all of college football. Fragile teams roll over when faced with adversity. Oregon is 9-1 and has showed that they can win in any conditions or type of game. Bring it!

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
Oregon fragile? Now that is something. This is the issue when someone just looks at statistics and doesn’t watch games. Running for over 7 yards per carry in the pouring rain and beating one of the most physical defenses in the country in the final two minutes just screams “fragile”.

Ducks VS Them 2025 Week 10 - Minnesota "In The Dark"
Another solid episode. Dante Moore’s name may be next to the 90% completion percentage in Oregon’s record book but watching the video shows some of the incredible catches (diving, in traffic, adjusting to the ball in the air, dragging a toe to stay in bounds) by our receivers/tight ends that made it possible, along with the incredible pass protection. Well done all around. It was fun to watch.

2025 Football Poll Rankings (2)
Chris 'The Bear' Fallica's Top 10 College Football Rankings: Week 13 Edition #6 Oregon Ducks 9-1 6. Oregon Title odds: +1500 The Ducks had every reason to let down on a short week with a bunch of injuries after a huge win in Iowa, but Oregon left zero doubt against Minnesota. They get SC this week at Autzen in a game they should win, as the Trojans haven’t won a road game as a 'dog in a spot like this in a long time. Might the Ducks even get WR Evan Stewart back for a playoff run?

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
ESPN/ABC has completely “jumped the shark” this year and has no more credibility when it comes to covering the SEC. My advice to their top college football analysts would be to leave the network before their professional reputations are permanently damaged. Someone asked why ESPN is no longer pushing one of their favorite metrics (FPI). Perhaps it’s because the top 3 teams in college football are B1G teams by their own metric?! ESPN2025 College Football Power Index - ESPNView the 2025 College Football power index on ESPN. The FPI is the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season.

Oregon Has Found Its Offensive Identity
It was a little different. Byron intentionally dropped the ball before he crossed the goal-line. Whereas, it appeared that Whittington lowered the ball a little and then inadvertently bumped it with his leg. I’d like to see our players emulate LMJ and just hand the ball to the official after they cross the goal line but I’m old school.

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
This analyst in her thinking is flawed. What do you say? Maldonado isn't wrong in pointing out that the Ducks have a minus-four point differential in the fourth quarter this season. But where she does stray from the truth is in the finer details of that mark, as Oregon was outscored by 11 and seven points in the final stanza by Northwestern and Rutgers, respectively. The Ducks were ahead by a combined 84 points entering the fourth quarter in those games, with the contest effectively over and backups and third-stringers all over the field. If not for that combined minus-18, Oregon would be plus-14 in the fourth quarter this season, weakening Maldonado's argument. But at the end of the day, none of this matters to the Ducks. Whether or not they're fragile will be tested in the coming weeks, as they're set to take on No. 17 USC and Washington on the road in the season finale. If they come away with wins in those games, they'll be in the CFP and will have to prove themselves as able to work through chaos and adversity. And if not, their season will be over rather quickly. Only time will tell if Maldonado is correct. Oregon was listed as a fragile team. Her reasoning: "Early execution, but late-game anxiety. The negative fourth-quarter margin says everything (minus-4)."

Beavis...FORGET IT. We Are NOT COMING BACK....
Exactly. If for some reason we decided to leave the B1G, they seem to think that there would be some requirement to re-join the PAC, and they’d hold the keys to the kingdom. Uh no, that’s not actually a rule. We’d just start a new entity. And anyone that claims they know the ACC is imploding is just making things up imo. There’s way more brand depth in that conference than the B12 has…it might get watered down by 4 teams, but those other teams need to play somewhere, and that somewhere is not the new PAC.

Ho-Hum: Oregon Wins Ninth Straight Civil War Mens Basketball Game, 87-75
Evans played well, we need that sort of effort on a more consistent basis. Shelstad is getting there, Bittle was a force as usual. Don't think we're ready for Auburn and SDSU, but we weren't very impressive last year before the Vegas Tourney, so we'll see. Free throw shooting has to get better, they do a decent job getting to the line but they leave a lot of points there.

Beavis...FORGET IT. We Are NOT COMING BACK....
Other thought... if the west coast schools were to "come back" they wouldn't come back to the Pac-12. Pacific Coast Conference anyone? That would be Oregon, Washington, USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford ... and maybe we snag Utah and the Arizona schools to put most of the band back together but leave OSU and WSU out to dry. Not going to happen... but it is by far the more likely scenario for the two.

Four Ducks in double figures, better effort on rebounding and improved shooting percentage, fewer turnovers. This team showed improvement in most areas except free throw shooting. They've got some work to do there!!

Oregon wins the ninth straight men’s basketball Civil War game 87-75 at MKA. Getting better! The link to the box score is right here, with Shelstad at 22 points, with some cold-blooded threes, Bittle was super with 24, and Evans had 16, but 14 rebounds? Wowsa.
