GameDay Thread No. 2 for Oregon vs. Indiana
Agreed. If I'm playing I'd be pissed off. Not in a destructive manner, but with fire my team could see That, believe it or not is coachable too ( delicately, but it's possible). Look guys, there are who we thought they were. And we are too. Long enough corrections were necessary in November. We let them off the hook because the analysts either aren't loudly calling for corrections, or the don't see the trends properly. Im not a QB whisperer. But I played QB. It's constant repetition even when you're already money. Saban used to coach explosive passes by their ability to score TDs. That's the kind of diagnosis I'm talking about. I used to think that all the time. Didn't know coaches also feel that way, much less coach it ( that's why Saban is the the GOAT...not me!!!) I wouldn't use that strategy. Moore has enough talent to "whip butt". These are tendencies picked up before this year. I would drill the hell out of pocket maneuvering with a guy with this kind of arm talent. There are probably 150 QBs in the history of football as google as Justin Herbert. When you have a guy with those natural abilities, they still need to be developed. Josh Allen was a average in college with his coach. Think about that. He has a string arm, has sub par WRs, a so so OL. Look at him now. That's coaching. And the Bills were not works beaters until he showed up. QBs need to constantly be developed. Even Mendoza ( and let me tell you, he was coaches I to making the okays he makes, so was that damn Fuskies Michael Penix ). QB Smith Jr should be great. He has that kind of upside. So I expect him to be Great. That should happen. Agreed. Develop it then.

I like Moore, he is just part of the problem, but he can’t read defenses. No improvement the whole year.

McClellan with another great catch! This guy is clutch, keep airing it out.

I hate losing, but everyone does not get this kind of experience. Some players and fanbases have gone their whole lives and will never get this close to the top. It’s not our year, plain and simple. I’m not mad at one of these “kids” it’s been a blast rooting for them all a season long and I’m still cheering them on in garbage time. Money or no it’s been great watching them grow over the season and this game won’t change that for me. Go Ducks (there is ALWAYS next year).

"How is it so hard to get these dudes (receivers) the ball?" The first half 53% pressure rate is on pace to be the highest Moore has faced all season. The pressure Indiana brought in the October game should have clearly been a game planning aspect for Oregon. I understand it's easy for a D to bring pressure when they are leading by 3 TDs, but still ....

Sadiq did this on the TD drive and then got the ball for a first down.

That just means two years to a natty. Destroyed next year and win it barely the next year. Maybe we'll get a mysterious QB back named Bo Powers or Chad Nix?

Happy Will Stein gets to coach at Kentucky! I have confidence in Dan... but let's get a real offensive coordinator with some real experience.

Yes but keeping the trend, oh what fun it’ll be to watch them win it in ‘28 baby!

You gotta give Indiana their due. Cignetti has put together the greatest first two years of any coach anywhere. If he wins a title in ten days, he did something at a place that I don't know if even Saban could've done. This just sucks though, I don't know how you sugarcoat it. It's been a great season, and winning two playoff games is great in a season that was supposed to be more of a question than last year. But as Penn State , Notre Dame, and Texas showed. There's no guarantee any year. But I think Oregon will be back, it just sucks to see the butt kicking from the losing side. Go hit the transfer portal. Bring in experienced guys, and pay them to play. Paying freshman to sit on your bench isn't the way anymore. This weeks game results suck, I'm sorry. I don't have anything else to say. I'm looking forward to seeing Indiana blast Miami, but I was hoping it would've been Oregon. Maybe we'll see a halftime miracle. Go Ducks!!!!

I’m really starting to doubt this logic… Like someone said Cig can come and win a national championship at the loosingest program in NCAA history in his second season with a bunch of 2 and 3 star recruits but Oregon has been investing and paying its dues for 2 decades without anything to show for it.

I resisted this for a while, but I'm now convinced that experienced, expensive portal QBs are how titles are won. Indiana and Miami have them. We had them the prior few years. Indiana already secured one for next year. Dante is a transfer but not an experienced ready-made product one. You have to have a seasoned, polished, top QB or you don't have a chance.

Yeah, if I don't have a little fun with it, I might cry.

Take a TE or a RB and block the edge, then release after a second of contact. Usually, the LBs are too deep to prevent at least a 5 yard gain. It's best on first and second down.

This. Every time I've seen Dante's face this season I haven't seen any kind of look in his eye that signals killer instinct like we've seen with Bo and Dillon. No snarl, no angry look. Just deer in headlights.

I agree with you fwiw. People are upset right now and rightfully so. In a game where we couldn't make mistakes, we made the biggest mistakes of the season. Coach Cig won't have a roster full of seniors his staff has been coaching for the last five years forever.

Likely two years in a row we get demolished by Nat Champion... At least we made the final four. Wonder what Texas Tech is thinking.. I know what I'm thinking.... but I shall exert discipline. No blocking backs was going to be an issue... We needed our offensive line to play a WHOLE lot better. Dante, as Ive said, does not see his open receivers seemingly and does not handle rush well at all. Throws a good ball.... I cautiously look forward to next year! Second half, nothing could wash the stink off other than a miracle.. Go Ducks. Go Indiana and do it to Miami!!

Its one thing to lose a competitive game. It's another when the doors get blown off in consecutive years by two different teams. That suggests a trend.

Yes, and it's been looking bright for many many years.
