  2. How Lanning, Stein and Lupoi built a juggernaut in EugeneMonday morning at CBS, college football writer Matt Zenitz named the coordinators of the week in each conference. In the Big Ten, he chose Will Stein of the Oregon Ducks, and Tosh Lupoi of the Oregon Ducks. So far Stein and Lupoi have gotten maximum value out of having their highly-paid units train against each other. Josh Yourish of Saturday Blitz noted that against Oklahoma State, "The Ducks jumped out to a 41-3 halftime lead, with 472 total yards, averaging 13.37 yards per play and 14.38 yards per dropback." That's insane domination. 3. Thanks for the link... Yeah this would have been helpful for writing the article. Jayden Limar had the MOST snaps of all runningbacks at 23! Makhi Hughes second at 15. Limar didn't have has many carries as Hughes (9) but he was in on more plays. It shows how much this staff thinks of Limar and his development that he is in the game as much as he is. He made some fantastic blocks. On the plays where there were 2 backs lined up along side Moore, Limar was always one of them and he never got the ball on those plays but he was a blocker for the runner. Incredible development and I am thrilled for Limar. Biggest surprise of the year so far I think. And anyone who says they saw this for Limar (that isn't on the team or a coach) is outright lying!

  6. There's a third option... Reveal to Mess with Opponents. Oregon put some stuff on tape that now opponents have to use some of their limited time to practice against. Oregon put Sadiq in the wild-cast (or maybe QB, it kinda looked like he had the option to throw it). Now teams have to prep for that scinario. Oregon did a 2 point look... now teams have to prep for that, even if it failed against Ok State. All those runningbacks... opponents have to prepare for.

  15. I am trying to temper my feelings after watching the first two games, but i think it is obvious that now that the players are all CDL products, and the culture he had built in UGA is now in full swing in Eugene. The players all seem to be giving everything and more that CDL is asking for. There was no let off until CDL said to. Its subtle, it probably doesn't look much different to most non-OBD fans, but its there. Coupled with being so close last year, this years motivation is easy to come by. It gives me chills watching how prepared, how in tune, and just how hard the players are playing for each other. Having been a fan and gone to games since the early-mid Eighties...its something to see.
  16. If Dante goes Pro and Stein gets a head coaching position, does he take Novosad with him? In that case, we may be back to a transfer QB for 2026.

  18. Will Stein didn't have Moga passing nearly as much after he went in, which was likely by design; allowing the O-Line to continue to dominate the line of scrimmage and get our yards on the ground. However, he looked completely poised out there, as if he already has a starter's mentality. He made checks to plays and got us in to the right runs with great efficiency; also showing off his speed once again. Sadly, I won't be surprised at all if Novosad transfers. However, Moga already looks like a future QB1 here and the battle between he and Akili Smith Jr will be exciting to watch when Dante Moore is done in Eugene!
  19. The Snap Count from Crushing the Cowboys evidences DM's dive into OBD's depth. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2025/09/08/oregon-ducks-snap-count-takeaways-week-2-oklahoma-state/86036120007/?utm_source=smg-duckswire-strada&utm_medium=e
  20. It seems to me that Will Stein is showing upcoming defensive coordinators as many formations and plays as possible. This gives the defensive players lots of things to think about. Reading a formation pre-snap, continuing to recognize what is happening after snap, communicating what adjustments need to happen takes time. All of this must happen to get players to react. This takes time. The more things that a college kid must be coached for creates more things to process. Making the process more difficult during the game. Advantage Offense! I am trusting Coach Will Stein!
  21. I mostly agree, but your last line is key for me. I might be starting to feel empathy towards them if they had joined with their partners in the MWC instead of trying to destroy and now sue them. They put their faith in a lesser version (TG) of the previous conference administration which had the track record of destroying the best conference in the history of college conferences. TG was more interested in keeping her job than doing what was best for the conference IMO. They kept basking in the glory of temporary “bean-counting” victories instead doing what was right in front of them and creating a really good conference that could have started this year. They needed to strike while the iron was hot, instead they dragged things out while their rosters became a joke. The new bottom feeders they added to the new PAC are absolutely no better than the bottom feeders of the MWC. There really is no reasonable explanation for why they didn’t merge, it was the longterm solution right in front of of their face, but they didn’t want to risk sharing their short-term windfall, imo.

  23. Oregon Ducks Offense Resembling Chip Kelly Era With Explosive PlaysThe Oregon Ducks showed off an explosive offensive in the dominant win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and it reminded some of when current Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was running the offense in Eugene, Oregon. How has Ducks coach Dan Lanning maintained elite offensive play at Oregon? "Oregon crafting a +420 yardage advantage over Oklahoma State (631-211) while losing the time-of-possession battle Saturday, in a 69-3 demolition, is some wicked stuff that tops anything they pulled off even during the Chip Kelly era. When the Ducks walloped UCLA 60-13 with 21:29 in time of possession in 2010, they had only a +292 yardage advantage. (That's also absurd, for the record.)," wrote Connelly. 24. The entire team blocking has been fun to watch. I used to only rewind big offensive plays / TDs. Now I rewind to watch off the ball blockers, haha
  25. I don't like seeing the demise of the Beavers and WSU. One of my favorite things about rooting for the P12 in the past was seeing schools with less resources and brand reputations find enough diamond-in-the-rough players and coaches to be competitive and beat bigger/better programs. It was often the Beavers/WSU's of the world that would tenderize the Duck's main competition over the years (USC and Stanford); I thoroughly enjoyed that. The 1994 Oregon/Nike/PK collaboration was referenced. I can't help but think there was an enormous amount of luck in all that. Hard to think of a more synergistic relationship than that of a University's athletic program and a billionaire alumni that also owns the largest and most successful athletic apparel company. Talk about the planets aligning!! In other words, I'm not sure the P2 could have replicated what Oregon did in a million years. You can only leverage what is available to leverage. I do believe the P2 made a mistake in not simply joining the MWC; there can be strength in numbers there.
  26. At this moment, I'm thinking that if our blocking continues to be like it has been over the last couple games, that it almost won't matter if the defense even knew the play that was coming at them. But regarding whether to reveal the 'special' stuff, or not, my preference would be to save it for postseason, unless we get into a jam before then.
