  2. Or how Beck in a split second decided to underthrow a pass that I think would have scored a winning TD if he had thrown it to the goal line corner of the end zone. Not back of the end zone just across the goal line. Not sure why but it's interesting that #6 blocking the Miami punt was not #17 that blocked the Oregon punt. #17 was not injured in the Miami game. They both played that same position. I agree with you though, that split second decision to let him pass by outside was strange to me. The only other IU player rushing was being double teamed...
  3. This is a great article for perspective by Don Marsh, and I sure welcome guest articles such as from him, Mike Whitty and Jon Joseph. Everyone is welcome to write about a topic that is on your mind, and just email me with it at charles@fishduck.com and I'll take it from there. How close is a 'Natty between winning and losing? We know Indiana won by six points, so effectively...when a backup tight end as a punt protector made the split-second decision to block inside instead of blocking the punt rusher further--that decision by one player in a micro-second decided the national championship. THAT is how close it becomes...

  5. Thanks Mr. Marsh! That was a good read. Oregon had two of those in that game, because Cliff Harris intercepted that ball clean and in bounds.
  6. As of today, January 30th, it was mentioned on an IU forum that IU is done with the portal for this year. Counting incoming and red shirt Freshman, they will have a total of 47 in their Freshman class that were recruited the past two years, on their 2026 team. He has filled what holes were needed with some major P4 portal players.
  7. The PRICE is right. Simeon Price is 6 foot 215 lbs. Injury kept him out of the lineup, but watch the video of his touchdown run up the middle for Colorado. Because of injuries last season, the Ducks are loading up the RB room for a long season. YardbarkerOregon Ducks land Colorado RB transfer Simeon PriceSimeon Price has a ton of potential as a college running back. He just hasn't had a great chance to show it.Other news on him. What Oregon Duck fans should know about new transfer RB Simeon Price
  8. Mr. Marsh, you perfectly described football, and all the other games we humans love to play and watch! Excellent examples of the incredible moments during all games when the outcome of a game is on the line. That line is razor thin and can go either way. I say those moments provide the "thrill of the sport". Thank you for helping us remember those moments!
  9. No one feels good about how the season ended. It’s especially hard to digest given the 2.0 nature of it. No one can also dispute the incredible strides OBD have taken since the infamous “Toilet Bowl.”, to name just one moment in time in Duck football lore. As a fan since 1975, I can provide a few others. We all ... Why Whether Dryer was Down or Not...Doesn't Matter
  10. I see 2026 for Oregon being like the last time LSU won it ALL. Yes, the O line is a question mark. All the other pieces are there. Some young (or portal) edge help is needed for a pass rush too. And the inside linebacker group has to come together. LSU was sooooo good that year, it didn't matter who they played. And it was mostly due to the passing attack. Oregon will have that plus a great running game too. They already have returning players who can stop the run and the Duck secondary is unique and special. Oregon lost a LOT of depth, so injuries could kill the season (see 2007). If Oregon plays to their potential, it doesn't matter who lines up against them. That is because all the super teams of the past 5 years are done. There is a real opportunity.
  11. Sorts Illustrated? CBS Sports begs to differ. OBD does not have an easy schedule. Ohio State's Week 2 game at Texas moves the Buckeyes to No. 1 in B1G 2026 SOS. Northwestern plays 11 games in a row and is 2nd. OBD is third. I'd swap at Oklahoma State for at Texas and play Ohio State's B1G schedule with five, not eight B1G games in a row. But ... https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/2026-big-ten-football-schedule-rankings-easiest-toughest/
  12. Wall Street Journal? What do capitalist pigs know about Sport? Anyway, forget about piggies and huskies; anyone with their ducks in a row knows OBD is 12-team PO field 2 for 2, and PO games 2 and 2. UW is 0 and 0. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. However, after a Sun Bowl loss, UW did defeat Boise in the LA Bowl, which is nice. 😉
  13. Oregon: “current metrics emphasize traditional revenue streams over the coolness factor alone” Revenue streams: note stadium capacity in the list The column ranking, the school, stadium capacity rank 1-Texas - 8 2-A&M - 4 3-Ohio St - 3 4-LSU - 5 5-Georgia - 9 6-Michigan - 1 7-Notre Dame -16 8-Penn St - 2 9-Alabama - 7 10-Nebraska - 13 11-Oklahoma - 14 12-fuskies - 23 13-Tennessee - 6 14-Auburn - 12 15-Iowa - 24 16-USC - 19 17-Florida - 11 18-Wisconsin - 21 19-Oregon - 47 20-Colorado - 58
  14. Huskies have a premier brand alright; a ‘Duck’ seared and singed into their mutt butts.
  15. After close losses in his first two seasons as a head coach, DL has his foot firmly on the neck of "the premier football brand in the Northwest." As long as he stays at Oregon, statements like the quote above will be seen as the obvious dog poo they are. How can you possibly be "the premier brand" when you can't beat your closest rival?
  16. So maybe they will be bought out by corporations now?
  17. The "premier football brand in the Pacific Northwest"? Is the author smoking something?

  19. PSU to win it all could be a good call. But that's what we heard last season with Little Game James at the helm. Will Campbell and Iowa State East be able to stir up a champion bowl of soup? 😁 I'm going to Becht against it.
  20. The inestimable Don Cherry. Who coached the Olde Towne Team, the Boston Bruins, and in 1976 won the Jack Adams COY award. A hockey commentator icon who, like the Flyers' Dave Shultz, never pulled any punches. Thanks for the icy blast from the past.
  21. To settle the bye issue have all teams take a bye week 7. 6 in a row to start and 6 in a row to finish. Equal rest for all. But then WT heck would sports media have to talk about? Pro football of course.
  22. Yesterday
  23. When living in the country of Whidbey Island WA and no US tv reception, the Canadian tv channels came in perfect. I started my first hockey addiction every Saturday night with "Hockey Night in Canada" with Don Cherry. Besides going to Vancouver for NHL games we found going to Seattle much easier to watch the Junior League Seattle Thunderbirds.
  24. From an IU fan, I have never agreed with B10 scheduling since they split to two uneven divisions. Even now their scheduling still sucks and is shocking because computer/AI could do it all. What I found in my research today and posted under a different post ... Once the schedules are in draft form they are given to the schools for negotiation and approval before they are released. Granted those schools may not have much power in their negotiations but when the dust settles, the schools have approved them. Does that mean some approve and are still not happy? Hard to say unless we are in the room. As far as "short changed", I have never figured why they do that because the new schools are not going anywhere for years so why are they paid less than the older B1G schools? Yet, it is still fact, even knowing you would be short changed financially that was probably more than you were going to make with the Pac12 on AppleTV. Basically this new schedule has given Penn State a 2026 B10 Championship ... I mean even the 2020 IU team could have been undefeated with that schedule. 😂
  25. My uncle (the tough one who survived the Arizona) introduced my brothers and I to the Portland Buckaroos at Memorial Coliseum, in the early '60s. After that, every time we visited him in Molalla, it was a game night ritual to sit around his massive vintage radio, eating popcorn, and consuming appropriate beverages...Dad, Grandpa, Uncle George, my brother's and myself, plus a couple of cousins who lived in the area. Lucky he had a massive bedroom!
  26. JJ, you go ahead and keep complaining about BIG scheduling......you being you is what's best for OBDF and its diverse group of members. You are correct the BIG scheduling woosies did a weak arse job. NO EXCUSES FOR THESE CLOWNS. The more I look at all the schedules there are some schools that are on the nice list and some being on the naughty list. Start the non con games one week earlier. There are no rules against and if there arw rules? Break em. Every school should have 2 bye weeks. This is best for the players health and affords better play. I was so excited to join the BIG. But the league officials seem petty in their actions. Please, someone, explain the polar opposites of PSU and Michigan's 2026 conference schedules? Same people in the room cranking out those conference schedules. GO Ducks....we got the short change on revenue splits, hec, might as well be one of the schools short changed on scheduling...
  27. A way-too-early prediction of how the 2026 Oregon football season will play out The Ducks have their schedule for the 2026 season. Here's a quick prediction of how the season might play out.
