  1. Or MM#8, hand the ball to the ref and trot back to your sideline. Classy and made a whole lot more powerful statement.
  2. Great thread HaywardDuck, thanks! IMHO, the team culture will not be 100% Lanning’s until his selected playmakers are fully in charge of the locker room, mentoring the new guys. That is probably gong to happen sooner rather than later. Respectfully, I am not looking for a “west-coast version of the Bulldog defense” as Charles mentions, I am hoping to see an Oregon version of a Lanning inspired Defense (with a capital D). The pieces are starting to fall into place for an edge rushing nightmare with a lock down and opportunistic secondary. The Duck D will get a chance to prove themselves this year against arguable the best QB conference in the nation. Go Ducks!
  3. Gotta agree with that statement 2002duck! When was the last time we had a backup who could take over and run the offense? Herbie when Prukop (sp) was playing?
  4. I am shocked! USuC whine bags whining? Who would thought it.. Oh wait, that would be all of us here! and the clown from LA calling Eugene garbage? Seriously? Has he ever looked in his back yard? Notice they are not (yet) blaming poor recruiting on the ridiculous travel times they will have for away games starting in 2024?
  5. I never could figure out how to spell SUCK without usc. USuC fans are just about a deluded as WA-wa-mutt fans when it comes to their teams. ”It was the refs!” “It was the weather!” “The other team cheated!” “They got all the breaks!” “The sun was in my eyes!” They… just… never… stop… whining.
  6. Nice article DnC, thank you! I don’t disagree, but I am more than a little concerned with the number of so-called experts saying Utah, USuC, OSU, or Washington will be the cream of the PAC for next year. How should that weigh in to our expectations?
  7. Fantastic article, thanks for sharing.
  8. 59 to 7 with 9:40 to go??? The bulldogs only beat the Ducks by 46. Does that mean the mighty Ducks were better defensively than TCU?
  9. Good thing those two losers from LA are going to the Big 10! Tulane 46, USuC 45. 😂
  10. IMHO, this is the exactly the type of world class athlete the new Hayward Field should be bringing to OBD. There is no finer track & field facility in the WORLD! The place is a jewel! Top that off with one of the best football facilities in CFB, then add all the student athlete support built in to the Oregon programs, it is the best of both worlds. The kid could do a lot worse for himself by choosing to go elsewhere.
  11. Props to Baylor for waiting til AFTER our bowl game to announce it.
  12. But, will we see halftime adjustments by DL & Company?
  13. Ducks 52, - Tar Heels 36, 2 TO, 2 sacks, 360 yards in the air, 280 yards on the ground. Go Ducks!
  14. IMHO, that is why USuC left the PAC. They are tired of being dominated by their northern neighbors. The extra $$ just made it easier to explain. I hope they never see another Rose Bowl!
  15. Totally agree Haywarduck! He says it all when he said, “When you hit someone enough times, they don’t want to tackle you anymore.” Love the attitude! He has a shot at some Duck RB records!
  16. Thank you Charles for the work that went into the article. Well written and gives the perspective of time. IMHO, I have to wonder what impact PK and the swoosh have had over the last couple decades in rebranding UO into The O, a nationally recognized brand all unto itself. For the incoming freshman class, The O has been a winning brand most of their lives, in football, track & field, MBB, WBB, and even had a Natty in Golf. Could it be that the Ducks of Oregon have slowly but surely become a Destination?
  17. Awesome! Thanks Annie! Go Ducks!
  18. “There’s nothing like playing in Autzen stadium in front of the best fans in college football… There’s nothing line being an Oregon Duck!” Pretty high praise from a former Auburn Tiger who has played in most of the SEC stadiums! Welcome back Bo, I hope you light it up and have your best season yet!
  19. Is anyone else worried about the fact that Saban suspended him from the team? What for? On field antics or off field antics? This may not be the good thing we hope it is…
  20. Great article Alex, one that is generating even greater discussion, thanks! I agreed with the points you made as well as the outstanding comments above. However, the question is not really about can we trust DL, because, as mentioned above, not only do we have no choice, our trust makes no difference. The question should be do we have confidence in DL? All of the comments I am reading points to a resounding yes, for a multitude of well articulated reasons (see above). As a long-time Duck homer, I am fully confident DL can and will continue to get better. (He is too young and too capable not to.). For the same reasons, I also believe his in-game coaching will continue to improve. I am confident we will see a 10-2 or 11-1 season next year. But I will also say that I will continue to root for OBD and their coaches even if they face-plant into a 2-10 season.
  21. Nice article David, thank you. I respectfully disagree that the Oregon Defense failed this year. 9 and 3 are not really failure numbers. Colorado’s defense failed. Stanford and ASU, failed. I agree that the Duck Defense failed in the last quarter of the last game. They were completely unable to slow down the Beaver running game. They failed to slow Georgia’s offense and they failed to throttle the mutts, but they didn’t fail in the other 9 games. Oregon’s could have (and should have) been better, yes. Failure, not in my book. Maybe I am just too much of a Duck Homer.
