  1. No offense FanGirlDuck, but the Arizona uniform makes me like the Stanford uniform all the more!   The seagull sh*t splatter on light grey turns my stomach.

I think I will listen to the game on the radio so I don’t get sick watching.  My only hope is the Ducks play better than they look.

  2. Those are the absolute most hideous uniforms I have ever had the misfortune of viewing.

There was a thread last week asking about the uniforms worn for the Stanford game. At least those uniforms had Duck colors.

This light grey with seagull sh*t splatters is ghastly at best, and contains no color associated with the U of O.

    IMHO anyway.

  3. Well, the uni combinations have become a part of the Ducks culture and are aimed at a much younger set than I hail from.

I like the solid colors (all green, all yellow, all white, all black) the best.  I like the apple green, the forest green, the lightning yellow, and the ice white colors.  I did not like the greys, the throwback blues, the eggshell greys, or orange socks.

At least we saw green and yellow!  I agree with David Marsh that yellow helmets would have looked better.

  4. While I despise the mutts and am unable to wish them to win, in this case, I (like Charles) will enjoy seeing the Ducks dash their hopes and destroy their dreams later in the year.

That, and having a PAC North team trounce one of the traitors gives me reason to root for a bruin loss.

In previous years, this would not have been the case.

  5. Great articles over the last couple days!  Thanks to DnC and Mr. FD for your outstanding analysis. It will only increase my viewing pleasure going forward.

That said, my hope is the DL/Dilly Offense continues its trajectory, and eclipses all records set by the CK/MH Offenses.  I also want to see the DL/JT Defense grow beyond BDB to a Stone Wall front with a Lock Down secondary that creates Havoc with opposing offenses while shutting them down completely.

We may be a year or two out, but this staff and their recruits have the potential to produce the best Duck teams we have ever seen.

  6. I am surprised that is took till the 4th quarter to score the boatload of points needed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!

I would have been much happier to see touchdowns scored on each trip to the red zone.  Their pick-six was on a tipped pass, and I will reluctantly  give them that, but it should have been 21-17 Ducks at the half.

Instead we got to go clear to the last half of the last quarter praying WSU would somehow ‘Coug it” for us.

(I feel like the Mase Funa pick-six was karmic payback.  It definitely brought me to my feet in a happy dance!)

It did feel more like we took it from them, more so than they gave it to us.  I feel the Ducks outplayed them and deservedly won this one, but what an emotional roller coaster this game was!

  7. David, you bring up a very good (and valid) point.  I have long felt Oregon was doing a disservice to the young QBs who chose UO, and that it would at some point start to discourage promising young QBs from choosing Oregon.

IMHO, the win now attitude has become prevalent in every sport, to the detriment of all.  It is not limited to the fans, but includes boosters, ADs, even players.

  8. I guess I am most saddened by the Mari -like insistence on refusing to give another QB a chance to compete.

I actually thought DL would give TT of JB a chance to compete in an actual game once it was out of reach.

IMHO, this game was out of reach once Bone X (an apt nickname he earned in the SEC) threw his second pick directly into the arms of a Georgia defender.  There was absolutely no reason to stick with him in the second half.

This blind allegiance to transfer QBs can only hurt OBD, and is hard to stomach. Yet Again…

  9. Wonderful tongue in cheek satire, thanks Alan!

I loved the well scoreboard and meaningful pictures, but spit up my coffee at “The University of Snakes & Cretins and the University of Clueless Lunatics & Addicts

Thank you for jump starting my Saturday!  Go Ducks!

I write this while sitting at Reagan International, sitting across the aisle from a glowering Husky fan who must be jealous of the magnificent “O” on my shirt compared to the pitiful purple “w” on his windbreaker.😎
