  1. When I am conference commissioner, I plan to ease the struggle some degree. Similarly to the old Pac-12 scheduling, like when traveling to Arizona, you play both schools in one trip. Playing 2 or 3 schools per trip across the country sounds like the way to go. Penn St, Rutgers, or Maryland. All on one trip. Maybe an off day or so between for rest. Not travelling to tOSU, then 4 days later to Penn St. Like so many other trips this year. I bet they came back home in between. Maybe they didn't, I'm not sure. I hope they get it figured out, because playing those schools is pretty cool. Go Ducks!
  2. I've been told size doesn't matter... At least that is what I've heard from my Duke friends when referencing Cameron Indoor, and the "Cameron Crazies". The roughly 54,000-60,000 seems like a reasonable amount to me. I'm hoping for an updated north side with an over hanging roof similar to the south side. I really think the roof improves the noise level. Or some crazy outer shell like at Hayward Field. That has a great sound trap even when the crowd isn't very large. Go Ducks!
  3. Up until last Saturday, I was calling it the "Washington Problem", it doesn't seem like a "problem" anymore..... But it still has something to it... Border Problem. Cascade Problem. The Problem. Go Ducks.
  4. I chose Sling last year, but it bit me because they didn't carry the heavy hitters like Fox, NBC, and CBS. They would carry the ABC games on ESPN 3. I have since switched to Hulu Live. Go Ducks!
  5. It seems the B1G has been somewhat reasonable about the travel concerns for the new west coast teams. Also, like you guys have said, the travel concerns have been blown out of proportion. I'm pretty certain most of OBD teams still had to hop on a plane to get to Pullman, to Boulder, to Tucson, and so forth. I can't imagine traveling to Madison, to West Lafayette, and any other B1G school will be as direly different as they claim. I also believe, eventually, our little Eugene airport will start to add non-stop flights to cities in and around the B1G footprint. Or at least an easy path to them. Go Ducks!
  6. "Annoying Neighbor Kid". PittDuck nailed it!
  7. I agree with Charles. As long as Our Beloved Ducks are in the big leagues, college football is not ruined. With all the talk of a 14 team playoff, that sounds like the B1G and SEC are trying to throw the other conferences a life line. Considering how much power the B1G and SEC have, a 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, etc model seems more than generous. I would advise them to jump at it. Go Ducks.
  8. I didn't think it was a bad look at all. At least from my understanding of things. Herbie's "influence" was good for college football, assuming Raiola is as good as predicted. ESPN might be upset with him, "influencing" the young star from the ESPN conference straight to the competition in Nebraska and the FOX conference. Go Ducks!
  9. I agree with the High Red Alert. I would suspect Alabama already has their guy, the rest of the world just doesn't know it yet. Go Ducks!
  10. "The Border Problem". That sounds like a great name for a rivalry between Oregon and Washington. Go Ducks!
  11. I understand what you are saying, but I don't think it has changed too much, other than it changes everything. Lol. There are roughly the same amount of starting QB's as there were decades ago.
  12. This Michigan story keeps popping up, and I haven't been paying much attention to it. However, I'm curious if Mr. Stalions ever took the time to watch TCU last year. Go Ducks!
  13. Go Ducks! I can understand the logic in many of those "terrible" decisions. Whether I would have done the same is a different story. We can say "kick the FG, kick the FG", but at the end of the game, he kicks the FG, and misses. The choice is obvious now, but at the time I appreciated the aggressiveness of going for the throat.
  14. This is pretty awesome news! Now, is anybody else here questioning why the pac-12 hasn't hired Herbert's agent, to negotiate this upcoming media deal?
  15. It seems to me that this is the slippery slope we've mentioned before. Whether I like it or not, is of no concern. The players wanted this. They are able to benefit from their success, and that is wonderful. If a coach has an opportunity to move to greener pastures, they can. The players also wanted that freedom, and now they have it. However, if a coach isn't successful, he can be fired. The players are beginning to see that bitter part of the world. Right now, everyone is learning to navigate these new seas. Go Ducks!!!
