  1. Prior to August 4th, the uncertainty about Oregon's future home after the departures of USC, UCLA and Colorado from the Pac-12 was strong, but a few days prior, Brutus Buckeye, the Ohio State mascot, gave a clue for something that eventually turned out to be true. Oregon was joining the Big Ten. While the original post, captioned "BIG things coming", was only posted by the OSU mascot in Instagram, there was a sister to it, there's a social media named BlueSky Social that is intending to be an alternative to Twitter/X, and there was an account for the University of Oregon's athletic programs, with a post very similar to Brutus' accompanied by the same picture, but, the question still remains... Does Oregon actually have a BlueSky Social account? It's actually a debate that continues to this day, and no one has figured it out, there's evidence going on like the fact they have never attempted to troll anyone and posts the same things as the Twitter account, but they do reply to fan posts in the platform, something that barely occurs in other social medias (albeit the low amount of followers may explain it). If the athletic department does have an account there, then there's going to be news that will be received in a very mixed way, Oregon is not planning to shy away from tough competition in football and will schedule some SEC programs in home and home series', of course, I know that most people here want the Ducks to schedule incredibly bad teams, but I can't see the Ducks doing that in football, considering the Big Ten only plays 3 non-conference games and usually only one is in the road, in other sports like basketball, then I can see most of the schedule being filled with former Pac-12 foes. But the question remains, is that account real or not? Because if it is, be prepared for SEC foes coming to Autzen Stadium.
  2. As much as I wanted to see Oregon scheduling Alabama in a home and home series in 2035-36 due to my desires of seeing the matchup, I do at least understand why y'all want weaker opponents, I feel this year will be our biggest chance to win it all
  3. I know that this will sound extremely controversial, but I actually don't want Oregon to go around and just schedule the former Pac-12 foes that are now in the Big 12 and ACC. I get that Oregon's new schedule in the Big Ten will be extremely different from what we faced off in our history in the Pac-12, but seriously, scheduling cupcakes won't be good at all, the only local opponents that Oregon should schedule are G5 opponents from the Mountain West (I doubt the B1G will allow us to schedule FCS teams anymore). Plus I'm sure that the Pac-12 members that don't share a conference will want to go different ways with their programs, I've heard OrSU doesn't want more games against us even tho we want to continue the Civil War. I really want Oregon to schedule a SEC team, no matter if it is Alabama or a lower tier team like Florida, because competition will make our program stronger and I want more diverse opponents from conferences we barely have any history with, in comparison to the Big 12 which has 3 consecutive home and homes with us, and we won't have to worry about losing more than 2 games because of the 12 team playoff. We don't have to fill our schedules with SEC teams but I would prefer at least a series against a team from there in comparison with very constant home and homes against the Four Corners schools.
  4. Well, Alabama has scheduled a lot of P5 games against programs like Ohio State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame, they even scheduled a Western team in the form of the Arizona Wildcats. The reason on why I want to see Alabama vs. Oregon so much is because they're my favorite programs ever and the fact that matchup has never happened in football yet, and Greg Byrne does have heavy Oregon ties.
  5. As y'all may know, I'm a passionate fan for non-conference scheduling, and my favorite team is obviously Oregon. Many people here said that we needed to wait for the Big Ten to release their scheduling model in order to further discuss what opponents the Ducks should schedule in their non-conference slates, with our furthest P5 opponent being Baylor in 2028 after series' with Michigan State and Ohio State got the boot, now that we have gotten clarification that the B1G will remain at 9 conference games (unless another team joins), how do you expect the Ducks' future non-conference schedules to look like? I've seen people saying that Oregon will probably just schedule local opponents to keep travel costs minimal, but I wonder if they would have any desire to schedule any former Pac-12 foe aside from Oregon State, which I think should remain in the schedule but it's looking more unlikely as time goes on and the Beavs may get relegated to the G5, so if the Ducks still want to schedule a P5 opponent, I really want a series against a SEC program, since our schedules have 3 consecutive Big 12 opponents that will not bring a lot of eyeballs in comparison to games against Alabama or LSU, plus I've heard that the Ducks won't shy away from tough competition, even if the opponents in our new conference are better than the ones in the Pac-12. I would really like to see the Ducks scheduling more P5 teams in home and home series' even if y'all want local opponents, a series against Alabama would be awesome and I hope Greg Byrne and Rob Mullens agree to it someday, but I also want to find a way to schedule Oregon State as well. But the point is, how do you expect Oregon's non-conference schedules to change once we join the Big Ten?
  6. Wonder if this announcement will affect anything in our future non-conference schedules aside from the obvious fact that the previously scheduled home and homes against Michigan State and Ohio State got cancelled. I'm sure Oregon will just schedule their former Pac-12 mates, tho a series against a SEC team would be really cool.
  7. University of Oregon schedules in Big Ten are still ‘TBD’ WWW.OPB.ORG The UO Board of Trustees met Tuesday to hear updates on athletics conference realignment. I found this article about Oregon's schedules when they eventually join the Big Ten in 2024, a part that caught my eye was one saying that Oregon may just schedule teams that are located close to the state (aka former Pac-12 teams), and we may continue scheduling random Big Sky opponents over and over again, this is most likely because we will travel to states like Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey pretty often. While I do appreciate that we are looking to keep some former Pac-12 matchups alive, I still wanted to play an SEC foe in a home and home series...
  8. Oregon's Big Ten move has left some P5 empty spots between 2029 and 2033, I'm expecting the six consecutive Big 12 series' to survive but thanks to the move, two series' against Michigan State and Ohio State have got the boot, and this left me wondering... Who could Oregon schedule to replace the Spartans and Buckeyes? For 2029-30, I was thinking about scheduling none other than the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after checking FBSchedules, as they have empty spots in the dates we were set to play against MSU, and Notre Dame will reportedly never join the Big Ten, so it will definitely be a nice non-conference matchup. For 2032-33, it gets a little bit trickier to find a replacement for the Buckeyes, I was thinking about a series with Clemson but only if they join the SEC. After that, I would love a 2035-36 series with Alabama, but I know what most of you are expecting, we all would love matchups against Oregon State, tho I don't know if the Beavs will be P5 or G5 moving forward, but, aside from a yearly series against the Beavers, who could we schedule in the future?
  9. I'm feeling sad about the Pac-12's demise, but I always wanted to see the Ducks play more diverse opponents, I'll be accepting their move to the Big Ten!
  10. Am I the only one who wants Oregon in the Big Ten? Sure, seeing the Pac-12 survive would have been better but it's becoming more and more unlikely...
  11. Colorado and another mystery team are supposedly gonna leave for the Big 12.
  12. I want this model to be implemented in case no one else joins the Pac, plus we would get more interesting matchups involving our Ducks rather than just boring Big 12 matchups. Maybe Oregon vs. Alabama, Auburn or LSU?
  13. Hopefully the deal is on par with the Big 12's (31 million) or the ACC's (which I don't know it's number) and that the potential new members are welcomed in a good way!
  14. I hope that whatever happens is good for our Ducks, even if the deal ends up being bad (hopefully not!)
  15. Hopefully us potentially staying in the Pac-12 doesn't kill our chances of scheduling actually good opponents like Alabama in non-conference play. EDIT: Nevermind, I angered someone...
  16. I don't know what will happen to the Pac-12 now, but hopefully everything goes fine and we finally win a national championship!
  17. As time goes on, I'm realizing that Oregon staying in the Pac-12 can actually help them a bit at some points like being the Clemson of the west, hopefully Oregon's final decision helps them in the natty goal!
  18. Hopefully staying in the Pac does pay-off well even if the money we will get will be lower compared to the Big Ten, tho finally seeing us winning the national championship will be a dream come true. If we win it all and play Alabama either in the post-season or in non-conference play I'll die a happy man
  19. I'm surprised that most Oregon forums nowadays dislike the idea of moving to the Big Ten.
  20. Indeed, I want Oregon to join the Big Ten, but mostly because of the new matchups against teams like Michigan or PSU.
  21. The three (or technically six) consecutive Big 12 matchups were scheduled around the same time as the Georgia kickoff game, I know there's still some sour memories of that UGA game, but I'm still heavily supporting the idea of Oregon scheduling a SEC home and home series in the 2030's
  22. I still heavily hope an SEC team gets as brave as Tennessee was in 2010 and 2013 and finally schedules the Ducks, if we get Bama vs. UO (even as a post-season game), I'll die a happy man.
  23. After nearly 2 years, we got a future schedule update involving UO, the bad thing is that it involves a FCS team... https://fbschedules.com/oregon-adds-eastern-washington-to-2027-football-schedule/
