Defense might be peaking at the right time. Offense at this point depends on DG, he was off today. Hopefully he cleans up those red zone mistakes as OBD should have had 2 more TDs.

I don’t know about way off but he does seem a bit out of sync with everyone except Tez Johnson for the most part. That short pass into the slot with Tez seems like a bread and butter play that MSU just can’t stop.

I will say that it’ll be a pleasant surprise if the defense completely shuts out MSU for the game.

I understand that. But he’s too old and experienced to force passes in such contested coverage. He needs to throw it away if it’s not there.

Hopefully that means he’s shaken off this foggy mindset he’s had this first half. It should be 35-0 right now not 21-0.

When you think about it, it's really not surprising. 3 seasons ago when Bo first transferred in he really didn't hit his groove until mid-season and that was with an established OL. DG has had an OL in chaos the first couple games but has performed well despite the circumstance. That being said, it would only be fair to expect that he won't find his own groove until mid-season as well.

I don't think Bear has the personality that Dan Lanning covets.

I'm going to chalk that one up to habitual instinct. He's a defensive back and they're always looking to intercept the ball...in the heat of the moment they may not be thinking of those finer situational details and are just focusing on getting their hands on it to steal possession.

+1 this was the most reasonable conclusion I came to as well.

I think one minor factor was also the condition of the field itself. Players were slipping and sliding all over the place.

Defense was solid most of the game. Offense was good in the 1st half then became unfocused in the 2nd, like they lost interest or something.

Suddenly the offense is becoming unfocused.

Have to question the choice in uniform for UCLA, those gold pants and shoes aren't flattering at all. They would've been better off with white.
