Well that makes sense. We all know the widely publicized reports of his lackadasical attitude when it came to player development and recruiting. Going back to UCF allows him to plop right back into a talent rich state where he can do the bare minimum effort to find 3* diamonds in the rough that fit into his old Chip Kelly/Mark Helfrich offensive playbook. Only now it's 7+ years later since that undefeated season with the Knights and defenses have largely caught up so his level of success will be a question going forward.

While the defensive effort will be examined by lots of viewers over the next couple days, this is my takeaway: The defense largely was a staunch pillar of support to lean on all season long when the offense was sputtering. We now know that when the defense finally sputters, it can lean on the offense to put up a solid effort to win the day. That, to me, is a complete team.

Also provides a ton of rest and gets more of the injured players back on the field.

Oregon put up 500 yards of offense on that Ohio St. defense. This is the conference championship game so it's not unexpected that Penn St would be far more motivated tonight than when they played against the Buckeyes. OBD are up at the half, I have faith that they will keep up the pressure as well.
