  1. Until an official announcement comes from one of the official UO channels, I’m disinclined to believe anything right now.
  2. They lost by only 3 points to a top 10 team, I feel like they should drop to #4.
  3. A motivated Utah team is extremely dangerous as we all know well....even more so with a Swiss cheese defense like USC's.
  4. With a healthy Nix, a matchup with USC would have been a really fun shoot out (unless of course DL were to rally the defense like it did with Utah). In that scenario, I like Oregon's odds to win by at least a TD.
  5. Should be an interesting post game conference with Lincoln Riley.
  6. Champion goes to the RB, unless they're selected by the CFP committee. USC just lost both the RB and the CFP. Sucks for them!
  7. That game is over. Utah is USC's kryptonite.
  8. Somehow Miami convinced Van Dyke to return *COUGH COUGH nil COUGH*. It'll be interesting to see how he does next season. Sources: Van Dyke to return as QB1 at Miami WWW.ON3.COM Miami Hurricanes QB Tyler Van Dyke has informed the Miami Hurricanes that he will return in 2023 as Miami’s starting...
  9. The more I watch footage of Dante Moore, Dante Dowell, and Jurrion Dickey, the more I'm thinking all three are going to compete for playing time right away if not outright starting positions.
  10. He'd have a good shot at starting right away given how many linemen are graduating after this year.
  11. I think he's being diplomatic and doesn't want to contribute to any distractions about him leaving before the bowl game. He's a smart kid.
  12. Cade McNamara might be a better option in terms of eligibility. He'd be playing as a graduate transfer, so just 1 season.
  13. If Nix were to return I certainly wouldn't complain. Yes he'd have to deal with a rebuilt OL but he would still have returning starters at RB and WR so there's certainly some comfort there. That obviously buys a redshirt year for Moore to develop without pressure to perform. If Nix moves on, I'd rather have Moore compete and take the starting spot and let him develop. He's been a starter all 4 years in high school and competed at the highest level (back to back state championships). I don't think we've ever seen as polished of a high school QB as him come to Oregon. It would probably mean the Ducks take a down year as he takes his lumps and learns on the job his freshman year but that should yield benefits in year 2.
  14. I know Cristobal recruiting Card when he was at Oregon, so Card coming here might be a possibility. Need to be careful of that though, don't want to alienate Moore's recruitment in the process.
  15. It'll be interesting to watch. Dilly has the youth, energy, and enthusiasm. What he doesn't have is experience...he barely finished his first season calling his own plays. Now he's taking on HC duties and rebuilding a program from the ground up, talk about a leap in difficulty. Not saying he can't do it but that's a really big challenge to take on and we still don't know what kind of NCAA sanctions are coming his way thanks to Herm the Worm.
  16. Both Sewell and Gonzalez are going to the NFL, I'd be shocked if they didn't. Justin Flowe needs at minimum 1 more season before he even thinks about the NFL, he's got the physical tools but his instincts and football IQ are a work in progress. Bo is probably gone as well, though it would be a small but very welcome surprise if it opts to return. He's a gamer and I bet the way the season ended the last few weeks really sticks in his craw, which might provide some incentive to come back. Gonzalez and Nix are the biggest holes to fill, I don't see anyone on the roster currently that can replace that same level of production for either.
  17. That brings up an interesting thought. What if Moorhead was brought back now and given full reins over the offense?
  18. No worries!
  19. Herbert and the receivers likely would have done better if Arroyo wasn't being chained to that '90s power run offense and overruled by Mario on the field. Even then, I didn't see a 1000 yard receiver in the bunch.
  20. No it wasn't sarcasm. He did leave but most OCs want to be HCs so I don't blame him for leaving, especially for a plum group of 5 gig like UNLV. I doubt most assistant coaches would want to work with Mario again, especially OCs.
  21. I mentioned this in another thread. I feel like Arroyo didn't do a half-bad job now that we know Mario's insistence on interfering with offensive schemes on and off the field, plus there was a distinct dearth of receiver talent at that time. I think he'd do a ton better calling plays when having both a talented QB like Nix AND receivers like Franklin, Thornton, Ferguson, Matavao...
  22. Dante himself said he was coming to Oregon AFTER he found out Dilly was leaving. That alone should put rumors to rest.
  23. I certainly wouldn't mind Helfrich coming back if it were an option. He did take Chip's offense and put it into overdrive until the wheels finally fell off. Also, Marcus Arroyo just became available
  24. Could be a candidate for the OC position here at Oregon. He actually wasn't half-bad considering what we now know was incessant meddling by Mario in his offensive schemes plus the dearth of receiver talent at the time...
