Does This Surprise You About Noah Sewell Pass-Rushing?
kirklandduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If Justin Flowe is back to full strength and stays healthy all season, the two of them will be a nightmare for opposing offenses. The only con? Noah is not likely to stay another year after this one, he'll be a top 10 or 20 pick, so the dynamic duo would be a one season wonder... -
I wouldn't say this car is the "most beautiful" but my old 2008 Mazda RX-8 was certainly pretty good looking and so much fun to drive. I have a special affinity for it because it was the first car I bought on my own (brand new as well) after I graduated and got my first job. This car is why I'm fascinated by rotary engines.

Oregon’s QB1: Who Gets The Nod Week 1?
kirklandduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
USC's going to have problems mostly with their lines (especially on defense). While they might have good quality starters on the OL, depth right behind them is not very good. As soon as those starters wear out in the 2nd half or any of them get injured then USC gets into trouble. -
What do You Want More, a Win Over Georgia or Utah?
kirklandduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ideally you win both. That being said, I'd rather take a loss early in the season rather than late as you get time to make up for it with subsequent wins (Oregon plays Utah in the 2nd to last week of the regular season, right before the Beavos). While beating Georgia would come with all sorts of media coverage and glamour/prestige, the road still goes through Utah right now for a Pac-12 championship. If you don't win the conference, you don't have any shot at the CFP. Timing is also a huge factor when it comes to impressing recruits...imo a Pac-12 championship and an appearance in a CFP or NY6 game during the recruiting signing windows would have more impact than a win over Georgia way back in week 1. -
Oregon’s QB1: Who Gets The Nod Week 1?
kirklandduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Maybe. But if we take Dillingham's words literally and the offense he runs is indeed fast paced then I'd put more weight on a QB's ability to quickly read the defense and go through progressions. I'd say Butterfield is better than Thompson in that aspect right now, scrambling is certainly important but I think the QB just needs to be capable of scampering 10 yards to be enough of a threat...something both Thompson and Butterfield are able to do. -
28 yards per catch? This kid lives on long bombs all day!

College Football Coaches to Propose Transfer-Portal Windows

At the very least it will help teams make high school recruiting a bit more predictible... -
KT is simply pointing out the obvious out loud. I mean you could tell Mario lost the team in the last 3 weeks of the season based on how they were performing.

Brooks Suspended for One Game for Flagrant 2 Foul
kirklandduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't think Dillon intentionally tried to make a dirty play but he went at Payton in an extremely aggressive and sloppy way, an ejection was warranted. Hopefully he learns something from this. -
Is New Receivers Coach Junior Adams KILLING-IT, or What?
kirklandduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
One has to wonder how Husky fans are trying to spin their sour grapes regarding Adams right now. -
I also liked how he celebrated with the make-a-wish kid on stage, that was fun to watch!

What Ducks QBs Each Need to Work on During Summer
kirklandduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I saw this article earlier this morning and agree with just about all of it save one small point where the author thinks Ty has the slight lead for QB2. Based on what I saw in the Spring game I think Butters has the lead for primary backup at the moment. -
Is Oregon the New No. 1 for Jaden Rashada?

I like Rashada but 6'4" and 175 lbs?? Someone get that kid a sandwich! -
BOOM or BUST? How Lanning Can Silence the Doubters

Bladder control issue?? Or perhaps an unhealthy addiction to overly spicy food? -
He was busy fighting off pancreatic cancer Thankfully it seems that he has a very optimistic prognosis and recovery going on, sending good thoughts to an excellent Oregon duck! Jaylon Redd had pancreatic cancer, but now he’s ready to chase his NFL dreams: ‘I’m ready to go’ WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM After successful surgery in January, Redd has been working his way back into physical condition in hopes of catching on with an NFL team.

Could Ty Thompson be the No. 3 Quarterback?
kirklandduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I echo others here that it's likely DL is rotating the QBs for a couple reasons: continued and fair evaluation for each with comparable personnel to work with and to keep each engaged to minimize transfer risk. That being said, I think it can't be discounted that maybe Butters is starting to flourish in the kind of offense Dillingham is putting together. He's the only pro-style QB (top 5 in his recruiting class) in what's claiming to be a fast-tempo pro-style system, plus he has an extra year in the college ranks over TT. -
Thank You Easter Bunny: Kyler Kasper Commits to Ducks
kirklandduck replied to FamilyofDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This kid's build reminds me of Juwan Johnson, big receiver that will cause all sorts of matchup problems for DBs, great pickup. Reclassifying as 2022 is great for the WR depth but I was under the impression that Oregon's at their scholarship limit. Does that mean we'll see a transfer soon? -
Plain Delusional or Reason to be Concerned?
kirklandduck replied to DuckIt's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I do agree that kids and many adults can make questionable decisions. But I'd like to think that blue chips that were/are ranked as high as Justin typically have a reasonable support system around them to help make the best practical choices, otherwise he probably wouldn't have gotten to 5* status or survived this long into his collegiate career. Leaving a perennial Pac12 championship (and fringe CFP) contender with prime choice defensive coaches for a Miami program in a complete rebuild phase would seem to be an easily identified bad choice for him.
