  1. Looks like Cardwell's role just became even bigger next season. I hope Sean Dollars is able to stay healthy.
  2. If he continues to strangle the offense into his myopic view of what he thinks it should be then he'll never make the playoff. In face he'd be booted out of Miami in less than 3 years like Slick Willie at FSU.
  3. Page 1: "Run it up the middle." Page 2: "Run it up the middle." Page 3. "Run it up the middle." Page 4. "Check down pass no more than 2 yards beyond the LOS." Page 5: "Go back to page 1."
  4. Given the current circumstances, it would seem that's not an impossibility.
  5. I didn't realize that. Now the question becomes would he really want the job? He hasn't coached college ball since '91 and at 65+ years old, might not want to try and resuscitate a program that's clearly reeling right now.
  6. Oh man. There's no way on Earth that I would participate in a dodgeball game with Justin, that's just asking for a world of hurt lol
  7. Georgia is chasing the same two RBs as well. I'm surmising that if Oregon gets one then Georgia will get the other, it's anyone's guess which player will go where.
  8. That entire staff should be fired, particularly Herm Edwards.
  9. They will if both players stay healthy but will they? Flowe's the bigger concern in that regard. That's the long and short of it.
  10. Makes me wonder how long Prentice Gill has been doing this sort of shifty stuff, possibly at Oregon? He was only an offensive analyst in Eugene for a year but then left for the Sun Devils and Johnny Wilson followed him there which I thought was strange. If I were a high level blue chip recruit, would I decommit and follow an analyst to his new home or stay with the better program and actually work with my position coach?
  11. The irony of McClendon "going back home" after Cristobal pulled the same thing on Oregon...
  12. Andrew Nemec had Halton and Connerly both going to other programs, though he says if Oregon can get Connerly for an on campus visit then they have a shot.
  13. Time for Byron Cardwell to shine and great opportunities for Seven and Sean Dollars to get significant carries.
  14. Probably. He's already got a national championship...now he wants to pad his stats for his last season to look good for the NFL. Better chance of doing that with Bryce Young than Stenson Bennett. Plus it's not like his chance at a 2nd championship is all that diminished by going to Alabama
  15. That one makes me want to pull my hair out. Can you imagine the recruiting exposure Oregon would have being on their TVs every year and playing in their stadiums every other?? Such a huge missed opportunity.
  16. Mario indirectly meddled with DeRuyter's defense by implementing a slow, inconsistent, low-scoring offense. That bend-don't-break defense only works if you score lots of points, allowing the defense elbow-room to take risks on creating turnovers. The 2019 defense led by Avalos was more aggressive in creating pressure in the pocket, forcing turnovers rather than waiting on the other team to make a mistake. We saw some pressure from DeRuyter but in my opinion not nearly as much as Avalos called for.
  17. Matt Prehm is a writer for 247Sports that focuses on Oregon.
  18. Not right now but if he were to lead Georgia to a 2nd straight NC or even the NC game then who knows? He could get picked up in the later NFL draft rounds or at least sign on somewhere as a free agent.
  19. I think Riley realizes this so he's been courting Josh Connerly hard. I hope Klemm has made him a priority, 5* OL guys don't pop up often in the PNW.
  20. Reminds me a little bit of Vernon Adams. If he can improvise and throw like Adams then he's a great pickup. A year in the weight room will help get his size up to snuff.
  21. I do think money is playing a role here but I think it's more NFL money and not NIL. Minimum NFL player salary for 2021 was $660,000 which probably dwarfs anything NIL can offer generally speaking, if he plays in the NFL for 3-5 years at even that minimum wage he's probably set for life. Dye needs to put his best foot forward to make that NFL money and he only has 1 more season to do it. He had a great start last season after CJ went down but current circumstances have muddied that path. 1. He made his success under Cristobal's offensive philosophy last season. 2. All the coaches he had relationships with are gone and he has no connection to anyone on staff. 3. He'll be dealing with a new offensive scheme whether he stays at Oregon or moves elsewhere. 4. If he says at Oregon and CJ comes back, he'll be splitting carries again. So what it still boils down to is playing time. After proving that he can be the feature back in an offense he would obviously want to continue doing that going forward. Spending a full season as the primary running back would probably pad his resume enough to get onto a roster somewhere in the NFL.
  22. The simplest possible explanation is likely the best one. CJ might be leaning towards coming back and Dye doesn't want to be stuck behind him again. Travis has shown in spades that he can be the primary back and in my opinion, is the more talented of the two.
  23. Oregon might have an edge over USC given that Tucker is already committed and Lanning is a defense-minded HC but it's tough to tell right now.
