Nothing is more frustrating to me in the football world this time of year. While the PAC (soon to be BIG10) is beating each other up with a 9 game schedule, the SEC and the ACC are still playing 8. I hate seeing the uneven playing field from conference to conference! My proposal...of course something the ducks have done for years. 1 power 5 (or whatever it will be called next year) opponent. 1 Div. 1 opponent from other conference or independent 1 tune up game It shouldn't be that tough to make all conferences where to this. Nothing bugs me more seeing Alabama or LSU playing the Citadel or someone like that in Nov. even though. Come on NCAA, stand up to the bullies!

If all these players are as good as advertised (more than cautiously optimistic) on the front 7 and dbs only getting better, QBs are going to be looking for sprinkler heads to hide under come the 2nd quarter next year! Gettin fun!

Of course I'm biased and see things through green colored lenses but the Ducks certainly pass the eye test. Texas and Bama get the big viewing audience. Sadly it's still a ratings grab I think the ducks need to overcome. Though OSU laid an egg in the desert (which the ducks have done), I won't be surprised at all if they beat dub in Corvallis. As Happy said, Cal needs to be the most important win to get any CFP talk. Happy November everyone!

I think he definitely sticks around. He seems to love the college experience. Like I said before the season, I think he is a marketing genius. Big smiles in every camera shot, great sense of humor from what I've seen, always the first guy down to celebrate TDs if possible. He's going to be a huge factor this weekend in his home state! Thinking he'll have a career and after NFL life like Geoff Swartz.

I like the Ducks going into SLC more after seeing the way they handled themselves in a raucous environment in Seattle. Just have to contain the big receiver and two way player! I'm terrible with names. I guess if I was a NASCAR driver I'd say the 17 and the 28. Never understood that but maybe I do now!

ASU would've ran away from dub with a legit QB. Dillingham's game plan was brilliant! I agree with earlier post about Penix being not being full speed after Oregon game. Sadly Pac 12 beats the crap out of each other with that 9th game unlike the SEC who schedules SW Missouri to rest up. Probably the main reason the PAC hasn't been represented well in the CFP. BTW the dawgs got beat up a couple times on PI calls too. The refs were definitely not throwing the flags last night like they were happy to do against the ducks and Bridges last week.

Growing up in SoCal and being an SC fan in the Charles White, Pat Hayden, Marcus Allen, etc, era, seems SC has become Entitled U. Maybe for those who listen to Dan Patrick, the real life version Crapensburg State. I was actually starting to get concerned the Ducks were starting to follow suit til Lanning showed up. I'm really excited to see the discipline and work ethic he's instilled in this team!! Ducks have avoided similar plays to the dumbass play of SCs Bear Alexander grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory this year. Keep it up Lincoln! SC will become the west coast version Nebraska to the Big 10. Though I think Nebraska will figure it out way quicker now with Ruhl than Lincoln! With that being said, I sure hope the Ducks saw the "never say die" mentality Utah played with and won't take them lightly. SLC is such a tough place to play!

I had a friend who had a catering service in Portland get interviewed by a radio station up there years ago. He said he'd never heard of a tailgate party so he didn't know what to say so he told them things like grilled salmon and stuffed mushrooms. I busted his onions for not knowing what a tailgate party was and told him he should've said things like brats, hamburgers, beans, salads. Come to find out his thoughts were pretty accurate. I've walked by some pretty nice spreads over the years with stuff I'd never think to have. And oh gawd the smells!!!!! He was also the same guy who would take filet mignon and lobster in camping trips. Good friend to have. Also fun to hit The Cooler on some game days for some before game adult beverages!

I just stumbled across the replay of the Duck Fuskie game. I almost wanted to watch it but then I figured it would be like going back to an ex girlfriend with the hope the result would be different!

Good call Solar! Most times you can pencil in USC, Florida, Miami, Texas, Oklahoma, ND as top 15 preseason teams and are barely holding on to top 25 by seasons end. It's a ratings grab to get people interested imo and shouldn't be factored. To be fair, I've seen Oregon ranked too high on occasion as well.

I was going to get on here and post the title ..."Still trying to figure out what if?" asking the same thing. I read all the comments and appreciate them all! My "what if" question is why not use plays created for two point conversions the same way they do on goal line situations? That first two point conversion was brilliant! Line everyone up on the right side of the ball, snap it from the left side and waltz in around a wall of blockers. Dawgs never saw it coming! Having Rogers for goal line situations was discussed after the TT game. Throw him out there as a pass catcher or blocker. I'm sure they have plenty where that came from. You can't keep em, use them up!! I really envisioned two TDS with some creativity in those situations, not "taking fgs". The defense certainly made up for one of the lapses with their own amazing goal line stance which has pretty much gone unmentioned. I said a couple months ago about 5 dumb plays a year can ruin a college football season. I think the players played very smart discipline football in a very hostile environment against the hated Dawgs. I think the coaches had three dumb plays Saturday. I hope they learned and reward these players with wiser play calling and a trip to the playoffs!!

Better to lose to dub now IF they win out! I believe the players have it in them. I believe DL is a wise, creative coach who might try to outsmart himself (see Brandon Stahley). I really wanted to see him run it at the goal line and and build confidence in the O line. If he's wanting to build a team that "wins battles up front" then put them in that position and don't rollout. Also play smash mouth to finish the game. Yes Bucky and Jordan got stopped a couple times but not often. I honestly thought they could get two TDS from the goal line and not had to think about FGS. Please don't hear what I am hopefully not sounding like. He's way smarter than me and certainly don't want to be an armchair coach. I'm just curious what it would've looked like had play calling been a bit different.
