  1. I'm curious if NIL money will play into players sticking around college longer if they are concerned about playing on a bad team? With the money he's making right now, he can afford to manipulate the system a little. Rumor had it a few weeks back he might stay in college. Of course that might be his and his advisors way of protecting him? I don't think his draft stock will be lower next year. Bo sticking around has certainly helped his draft stock.

  3. I know it's a big IF but he does have eligibility left. I'm guessing he's 95% going to the NFL but does he want to run for his life on a crappy team like he did this year? Do you think he'd fit the the culture DL is creating or has been been poisoned by Lincoln Riley and LA too much? Would DL welcome him and help him mature as a player on and off the field? Could we have two Heisman potential Heisman winners back to back? Guessing he loved playing in Autzen and thought about what it would be like to play for the Ducks in the B1G next year. Just some thoughts going though my head this morning.
  4. Thanks for sharing! That is indeed a great game!! Especially since those who play in that game don't know where they may be headed next. Many of us need to remember "it's just a game!" in the context of what our service men and women go through
  5. I love the Civil War but I'm also a huge college football fan as a whole. Growing up in Socal, SC/UCLA was the game I couldn't wait for every year. Boy has that luster worn off! I remember the days when i'd wake up early, grab a blanket on a rainy San Diego day (yes they get plenty of rain there) and watch Mich/Ohio St. followed by Neb/OK then USC/UCLA. All in one day on one channel..crazy huh? As an 8 year old kid, I'd dream of growing up and playing for one of those teams and coaches. I was always excited to see which game Keith Jackson was going to announce too. Back then, it was kind of a surprise. With college football typically only on ABC and really only three channels period, I was happy to get those games. The Civil War wasn't on my radar. That has certainly changed. I have plenty other rivalry games I could bring up. Just curious if anyone out there has a game they had to watch or story to share. This time of year is always fun for me.
  6. Thankfully.Kliavkoff changed the PAC 12 championship game to the 2 best teams or Oregon would be sitting at home wondering "what if?" If they beat the Beavs and U of A would likely be representing the South. Too bad he had his head in the sand (like how I said that rather than what we all think?) on everything else. The only other thing he had to do was put a good network TV deal together. Instead he pursues an unproven out of the box streaming deal? Let SC and UCLA go embarrass themselves in the B1G. Watching what KD is doing at ASU, JF is doing at U of A, the PAC whatever could've been a lot of fun. Too bad the PAC is going the be cannibalized by his "vision" disguised by ineptitude!
  7. Why talk scenarios? Scenarios are meaningless if the Ducks don't beat the Beavs plain and simple. The PAC 12 championship would be meaningless to the Ducks overall goal at that point. Just go out and beat the Beavs and move on!!
  8. Ducks 40-18 2 TOs 4 sacks 376 DL and Stein try to get some Heisman love.
  9. Or some schools are willing to cough up to get rid of a coach!! Glad Oregon has made millions from schools or the pros who have hired the likes of Chip, Willie and Mario away from Oregon. Best stock tip ever...hire a crappy coach, let "their" university hire them away, take the buyout money and invest in a real coach. Jimbo's the happiest person in Texas right now! $76 million to walk away? He's pretty smart if you ask me. A man of integrity would say, I didn't get the job done. How bout you give me 20 million(being generous to him)? I'm good!
  10. Sorry in advance for being long winded!! I was thinking about this last night and thought I'd start a new topic but it's just as easy to add to this. DL is a breath of fresh air (so to speak) to the Oregon program! He's bringing back stability some of us old folks were accustomed to. After Brooks and Belotti staffs, did you think any of their successors truly bought into the Eugene/Oregon lifestyle? Of course MH did if he could only coach. Chip was salivating over a chance to do his thing in the NFL. I met a huge eagles fan on vacation after they hired Chip. He was so excited they got him. I said be careful of what you wish for, he might do well his first year till the speed of NFL defenses figure it out, then he'll get ran out. Free Willy had some great quotes I think he stored away his whole life that I admit I fell for. Mario was the badass dude from Miami glory days with a great story. Obviously, he must've been liked by the players enough to keep him around. I saw about 5 minutes of the FSU/U game. Long enough to see a run play up the middle on 3rd and 8 at a crucial part of the game. SAME OL MARIO! Now Mullens goes out and gets DL!! Many were saying who the heck(keeping it clean) is this guy! We need someone bigger with head coaching pedigree! He's only 30 something. How's he going to lead this program? I even saw one post on here saying he can't hire a good staff because it wasn't diverse enough. I wasn't posting but I was thinking, dude, I don't care what a person's skin color is as long as the coaches can coach!! Low and behold, he has an extremely diverse staff and they all can coach!! Then came Will Stein...once again, why would DL hire this young guy from UTSA?? Well we found out why real quick. Bo's had two OCs that could potentially land him and the Ducks another Heisman. Yes DL is all football but all family too! Two very hard things to balance but it looks like him and his family, Eugene and the state of Oregon are a great fit for each other! The reality is Tosh and Will will eventually leave in today's age of coaches being pulled away from solid for HC positions but something tells me DL is 5 deep in candidates at each coaching position on his list. Heck, DL is so detailed, he's probably got someone lined out to make Phil's game day meals if his current chef leaves. Yeah he's had some crushing defeats for us Duck fans but I'm sure he's learned from each one. I doubt he'll be 0-fer in rivalry games much longer if you know what I mean. Think he looked into some of those players eyes after the dub game and said I don't ever want to see this again! He and his staff are going to battle every day for every player that sticks around now and forever...something many young men have never been exposed to. Willie and Mario love the flashy quotes and money. DL is perfectly fine making a great wage and a place to raise his family. Again something that resonates with players who want to be leaders. Players who want to be followers and want to look good doing it will go elsewhere. See Lincoln and SC or even TAMU. Mullens struck out a few times but he's hit a home run with DL. Us fans are in for a fun ride for a long time in my rambling opinion! Of course I'm a homer but at his age is an all time wins record a possibility...maybe? I promise I'm done now!!
  11. Agree but I don't think he was pursued much through (if at all) throughout his Oregon career. Maybe he let it be known he was off limits years ago?
  12. I'm actually shocked someone(I don't recall recently anyway) hasn't tried to lure Altman away. I'm sure all of us has heard the story about not wanting to uproot his family again. I say this to say, I see DL being very similar to Mark Few (or Dana) in that he is (or will be) very content with northwest living for a long time no matter who tries to lure him away. I admire Canzano's crack reporting saying he grew up on 6.54 acres outside of KC!!
  13. My point exactly! He isn't going to Texas A&M just like he isn't going to SDSU! This is all just ramblings. I never trusted Free Willie or Mario. I trust Lanning to be a man of his word.
  14. I heard the SDSU job is opening up. I'm sure DL will be considered there too. My bet is he goes there and becomes a surf instructor on the side! Come on aTm as you say is Texas's little sister and will never compete with Bama, LSU, and now Texas and Oklahoma for even the SEC West (if that's how the divisions break down) title. DL is a smart man and will bring a new and exciting game to 3 yards and a cloud of dust B1G. Michigan won't be able to win a game not passing in the 4th quarter in Autzen like they did last week.
  15. They need to figure it out quick. ASU sould've beat dub in Seattle. Taking the sundevils lightly scares the heck out of me. Playing the desert teams on the road has always concerned me more than the LA schools. Something tells me DL will get the O lines attention this week. JPJ really struggled for some reason. I certainly don't see that happening again. He's too much of a competitor! Guessing he follows up with his best game of the year in the desert.
  16. Beavs in Corvallis are prime (not Deion prime) for a great win! I just have a hard time seeing dub playing another close game and winning at Reser. Think the "good fortune" tank is running on empty.
  17. I honestly didn't think the trojans had it in them. They certainly showed up and battled. Ducks gotta clean up their penalties. O line had a tough night!
  18. Ducks 63-21 3 6 378 conservatively Haven't placed a bet in years but this is the easiest cover I have ever felt confident in. Ducks will get up big, Caleb will have to pass. Oh geez, the D line is going to go crazy. I see another fire in the eyes, no mercy looking DL not only for the game but for recruiting purposes! USC has already quit on the season. Maybe some single game records will fall. Bummed Oregon doesn't allow being on college sports!! Now I probably jinxed them.
  19. So the dude doesn't want to look at film? If this is the sentiment of the rest of the team, gimme ducks for 60 (or more) please Mr. Lanning and Mr. Stein! I'd like to think if Caleb's a leader, he's in that Defensive room chewing some major butt!
  20. I doubt dub gets three touchdowns in Vegas if it comes down to a rematch. Think that mutt loss was maybe the best loss in duck recent history. Sometimes you learn more about yourself through hard times (or losses)
  21. I kind of got tired of Cowherd's schtick a couple years ago but heard him for a couple minutes last week. He was saying Bo to the Patriots around five. As a lifelong Pats fan(Jim Plunkett days), I hope this doesn't happen to him unless Brady is waiting in the wings to become OC and QB coach, which I doubt very seriously!! I'm more of a Bo fan than Bill fan now. Personally like to see him go later in the first round to a team on the verge of making the playoffs with some decent talent. Jets, Rams, Seahawks come to mind. Yes they have proven QBs but let him sit a year and soak it in then tear it up.
  22. This is great news! Having broke my back years ago and not knowing if I would walk again, these things hit me hard!! Glad he'll be able carry on with his life in a normal way...football or not.
  23. One more score before half to put this game outta hand?
  24. If I gotta spend money at the bar...at least I have a pretty bartender to look at!
