  1. Great news! Better than landing a 5-Star recruit. Brings to mind a question though: Can even the best d-line stop/shut down a prolific passing attack like the Mutts have this year or the Burrows led LSU team in 2019? It almost seems like a pinpoint passing attack can always/usually scheme to nullify even the best and most aggressive d-line. Looking ahead to facing our Deboer issue next year and beyond, tell me I’m wrong. Please!
  2. Wow, these delusional fans remind me more and more of Dr. Leo Marvin in the movie “What About Bob? The more Bob’s endearing qualities emerge, the more deranged Dr. Marvin becomes. In the final scene he goes completely catatonic when Bob scores the ultimate success: Marrying his favorite sister Lilly! That be like us winning the natty, led by our marvelous staff, show casing our trendy uniforms and celebrating our great alumni support! Go Ducks!
  3. More enjoyable SC angst, summarized by this quote: Oregon waddling around with a Big Ten swagger would be dangerous. Commentary: USC may not be able to escape its Oregon problem in Big Ten after all WWW.LATIMES.COM USC wants to establish itself as the West Coast power again in the Big Ten, but Oregon could make it difficult if it's invited to join.
  4. Please forgive me for coming across as wallowing in the mud. It was not my intention nor my disposition.
  5. There's also a high probability that getting their butts kicked on a miserably cold day at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa could have a far more negative impact on recruiting than their dated uniforms.
  6. Thanks! Grateful for all your efforts to keep our forum well supplied with content!
  7. Question to Pennsylvania Duck: Is there a way to scroll through your posts without bogging down my browser? Doesn't happen with any other posts on FishDuck. Thanks!
  8. "But the Duck D unit had enough talent and experience to not allow the Beavers to dominate the last 20 minutes of clock in the Civil War game. The players looked lost or didn't care. 12 games into the season and they couldn't make a stop? With a trip to the PAC title game on the line? GEEZ!" The lack of effort (above) by our defensive unit will haunt me till they put something different on the field. Even more painful for an avid Duck fan living in Seattle was watching U.W.'s defense, with lesser athletes, have more of a bearing on the game than ours, in our stadium. What is up with that? Very little passion was displayed by last year's unit when the stakes were the highest. Please DL, make it different!
  9. Colorado coach Deion Sanders confirms Willie Taggart, Mike Zimmer will join staff 247SPORTS.COM ... Gosh, what's next? Stanford hires MC as new offensive line coach!
  10. Sometimes the most obvious observation is also the most accurate. Team culture has to evolve.
  11. This boasting about a team that has already lost to ASU this year?
  12. I can’t disagree with this sentiment. One of those mysteries of sports how this could be the same guy. Ty Thompson, Oregon Ducks commit, named ‘Alpha Dog’ of Elite 11 quarterback camp by 247Sports WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM 247Sports named Ty Thompson the 'Alpha Dog' of the Elite 11 camp, given to the player their staff deemed to be the top performer )
  13. Lanning also mentioned that he was not pleased with how they practiced yesterday, and that if particular players didn't get the job done, they would find players who would. Not sure, but it sounded like he was referring to the guys who are supposed to make tackles on the perimeter. Loved his passion & perspective.
  14. Kirby Smart asked about UGA OL, said it didn't face any adversity so there's still things to sort out. Ouch.
  15. Surprised and disappointed that the long awaited Sewell & Flowe linebacking tandem didn't have more of an impact on the game. Always felt that if we could just get the two of them healthy and on the field together they would be a major factor. Not sure what to expect going forward. Also, haven't heard anyone mention the "havoc" factor that Lanning's defenses are coached to create. Didn't look like our d was causing havoc anywhere at anytime--maybe in the DC booth!
  16. My stomach turned last Saturday when one of our d-backs was flexing and woofing after a wide open Georgia receiver dropped an easy catch. I think we were only down 28-3 when that bit of sportsmanship took place.
  17. At one point in the third quarter our d-line had that woeful look of "someone else is going to have to make a play because I'm tired of pushing". Not surprising to see Georgia convert 9 out of 10 third down conversions when there is so little apparent pressure from the defensive line.
  18. Seems like right out of the shoots DL might have a culture problem. Effort looks mediocre at best.
  19. Wow, defense seems lost. Surprised to say the least. I really thought with Lanning's previous accomplishments we would be better on that side of the ball.
  20. Have to agree with Charles in always preferring "the rich color of green" in the photo he posted. However, if the Ducks do to Georgia what they did to the last reigning champions they played, I may have to rethink my preferences!
  21. Those who enjoy trying to diminish the value of Oregon as a national brand have a hard time with realities like this game. The facts speak for themselves. People are in to Oregon football. When the Ducks play big programs, there is big interest. Go Ducks!
