  1. Last year at this time (week 13), there were 6 teams at 11-0, including UW. This year there is one at 11-0 (Oregon), one at 10-0 (Indiana), and one at 9-0 (Army).
  2. Yep, Lanning and OBD are the talking points right now, but that's all it is, just noise.
  3. I agree, Darren, it's hard to see Oregon, no team in the SEC is undefeated, finishing unscathed. In some ways the win at Wisconsin was the most impressive of the year. But, and hopefully. Tez and Harper will be back as the offense will be needed to show up for 60 minutes in the Playoffs. I feel like they won't be necessary against the Pups. Burch isn't a must for the defense against them either. Can't really think of a team that is playing great football as the season winds down with the Playoffs looming. tOSU looked broken after losing to OBD, but their D has put up impressive numbers. Go Army, beat Notre Dame!
  4. Urban agrees “How about this, stare at this for a minute, so you got Ohio State, they’ll beat Boise (State) or at least they should. Then (if) they beat Miami they’re going to play Oregon for the third time this season,” Meyer said. “That’s a nightmare for a coach in a playoff. So they played in Eugene, they’re going to play in Indianapolis, probably, and then they’re going to play again in the [semifinals], unbelievable. First time ever.”
  5. OBD have won on every network, and in each of the timeslots, so would having it at 4:30, making UW No.2 wait the longest be preferable?
  6. Notre Dame isn't the only team from Indiana that could shake up the CFP rankings. Undefeated Indiana, who has looked impressive most of the season but who has collected zero ranked wins thus far, will head to the Horseshoe for a big-time battle with Ohio State this upcoming Saturday. This outcome is sure to shake up the rankings either way this game goes. While there is always a healthy level of respect for SEC football, it's nice to have major CFP intrigue emanating from the state of Indiana on multiple fronts showing the country that some darn good, rough, and tough football is being played there.
  7. I don't want this to become the SEC Invitational Part 2, but Texas, yeah, it's hard to make a schedule argument for Sark's guys. Credit to Indy for taking Charlotte's best shot. Maybe they'll be in "Hoosiers Part 2"
  8. Yes, that was the championship game of the inaugural Bowl Coalition, Alabama beat Miami, 34-13.
  9. Wow, just as I was starting to comment on this, a wild hailstorm started outside! Now where was I? Oh, that's right WSU isn't littleosu's buddy. Well, get in line Cougs.
  10. Isn't that the definition of perfunctory?
  11. I agree with both of these. Buying: Ole Miss is the best team in the SEC. With each passing week, it becomes more apparent that Ole Miss is the SEC’s best team. Texas is currently atop the league standings, but the Longhorns have been inconsistent all season — and looked terrible against Arkansas on Saturday. Texas A&M is up there, too, but the Aggies’ QB situation leaves a lot to be desired. Alabama and Georgia both have significant weaknesses, although the Dawgs have largely matched Ole Miss’ ceiling in a couple of big games this season. As for Ole Miss, Jaxson Dart is playing great in recent weeks and the Rebels’ defense is second to none in the SEC. Ole Miss ranks in the top 15 nationally in pass defense EPA and rush defense EPA, per Game on Paper. The Rebels also have the No. 2 passing offense by the same metric. There’s a lot to like about this profile despite their 2 early losses. Last week in this piece, I bought in to Ole Miss winning the national championship at +1000. Due to tiebreaker constraints, it’s extremely unlikely Ole Miss will reach the SEC title game. But that might end up being a blessing in disguise if Ole Miss gets to host a first-round game in Oxford. Selling: Ohio State’s defense can keep Indiana off the field Ohio State ultimately came away with a stress-free 31-7 win over Northwestern this past weekend, but that score line might be a bit deceiving. The Wildcats moved the ball pretty methodically throughout this game. They only found the end zone once, but they had 4 drives that resulted in 10+ plays. Three of those drives took at least 5:30 off the clock. Given that Ohio State faces a much more formidable offense in Indiana this weekend, it could be an issue that the Buckeyes were not able to get off the field against Northwestern. I think Indiana will probably try to sustain drives and churn clock early on, but this offense has a little bit more bite to it than Northwestern’s has. The Hoosiers should have more success in the red zone. If Indiana gets down early, I don’t think Curt Cignetti will pack it in offensively and run the clock down. It’s much more likely he’ll get aggressive in an effort to make up any sort of deficit. That would lead to more points — for either the Buckeyes or the Hoosiers. I like the over in this spot.
  12. This is just right. It's just wrong for Alabama to have a great basketball team, Kentucky tries to have a good football team, Kansas too. UCLA isn't particularly good at either this year. Michigan?
  13. There's no way to be hyperbolic over OBD this season, it's Joe Friday time, "Just the facts, Ma'am" The B1G did everything it could to trip them up, but it didn't work. The rest of the Newbies haven't acclimated as well, but they're doing the best they can.
  14. After some really deep thought and consideration on this, at least 6 seconds, if it's a close call, Tez doesn't get close to the field. As much fun as it would be to have him scorch the Mutts, he isn't needed. He will be later.
  15. Alex thanks, and in this great season, this 16-13 game, might have been the most impressive win of the season. It was all there for the Ducks to lose, 8th game in a row, at Wisconsin, who's coming off a Bye, no Tez, no Harper, no Burch, but the Ducks win anyway. This was the type of game that a lot of people still didn't think Oregon, the "finesse" team from the Pac-12 could win. There's no finesse with this Ducks team. The B1G schedule makers did them no favors, except giving OBD 2 weeks off to get rested and ready for 0-5 on the road UW.
  16. Just like the Ducks won a game on Saturday they would have lost before; it looked like De ja vu for the Chargers on Sunday Night Football. Big halftime lead, this time 27-6 instead of 27-0, but this time the Chargers didn't fold up, they won! Fun story about McConkey from Collinsworth during the game, "What's your 40 time?" Mc Conkey. "I'm 4.3". It has 4.39 0n the chart. "Yeah, just say 4.3, nobody cares about the 9 part." Collinsworth also talked about how much the Chargers culture has changed, Harbaugh, McConkey from Georgia, Dobbins from Ohio State, these guys win.
  17. 7-22 from 3, still not good, and 17 TO's is too many, but this is what the early season is for. A Ducks basketball team with depth is something we haven't had for a long time.
  18. You know, if you take away, pretty much everything that happened, I nailed it. Congrats, Mudslide!
  19. Very true. They occur throughout the game, but the one closest to the end is always magnified.
  20. Broncos lead Falcons, 31-6, 4 TD passes for Bo so far.
  21. This all sounds great, Charles! Deja starring everywhere and Supreme off to great start. By all accounts Troy is better than Portland State, so very good to see the Ducks coming out strong.
  22. That and 3rd & long is no longer where every Oregon opponent wants to be.
  23. Can't argue with any of that.
  24. Neither Bo or Justin were expected to have success in the NFL, where are ya, Todd McShay?
