USC head coach Lincoln Riley drops $17.2M on Palos Verdes Estates’ mansion – Daily Breeze WWW.DAILYBREEZE.COM The seven-bedroom, 13,032-square-foot home sits behind gates on more than 3 acres in the Lunada Bay/Margate neighborhood. That's in another tax bracket than $7 million, but point stands... All flash, and no bang for their buck so far, on this USC hire.

MSN WWW.MSN.COM "Oregon’s pass rush caused a sack, scramble, or throwaway on over half of USC’s dropbacks, which is the highest rate I’ve ever seen in a single game. Most of that was well earned, though I think on a few the quarterback abandoned the pocket for his own improvisation pretty eagerly. As well he might: just six out-of-structure plays produced over 59% of all yards USC gained outside of garbage time. Still, as explosive and mind-boggling as he can be when improvising, on a per-play basis Oregon’s defense was successful at containing the quarterback when he broke the pocket or they got into the backfield at a 61.5% rate." The numbers in this article don't include what the author considers, "garbage time".

Canzano on Lanning to TAMU: 'Have You Met the Guy?'
woundedknees replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I've contended for years that there is such a thing as "enough" for some people... And been told I'm delusional, at best (Other, shall we say, less complimentary terms have been used on several occasions.). I believe Dan Lanning 'gets it' in a way many people don't understand. He wants to raise a great family, and provide for them a great environment to thrive. That seems to be his primary objective. Too many people fail to realize that finding an environment that facilitates that goal, while allowing the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a job like he currently occupies, is superior to being in the position of potentially seeing your dream uprooted, along with the inherent stress that places on the family. Keep up the good work Coach! I'm rooting for you to have as long a run at Oregon as you and your beautiful family wish to enjoy! -
Any wonder young men will run through walls for this guy? I fully expect outstanding effort from his team this week!

At these pay levels, it shouldn't make a difference, but Oregon's cost of living is rated 10% higher than Texas. Having been to parts of Texas, I'd choose Oregon's Willamette Valley based on the weather, alone.

The Disrespect for the Beavers Never Ends...
woundedknees replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't see an potential boat race happening unless the Beavitch D somehow breaks Michael Penix prior to the end of the second quarter. -
Harbaugh Suspended for the Rest of the Big Schedule
woundedknees replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Riddle me this... How does a staffer on a $50,000/year salary pay for tickets to the majority of games, over a multi season period, pay for travel expenses, tickets, room and board for said observation? Slushy funds, booster shots, or begging on the streets? -
What FLAG Will USC Carry Onto the Field?
woundedknees replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"Do as you wish boys, but for gosh sakes, don't prepare for battle!" -
Performance on the field may be an indication as to the veracity of film view deficit syndrome... Truth and Consequenes?

So, you're saying Mason Cobb would not be a candidate for the transfer portal to Oregon? Gee Whizz!

The Deja Vu Ducks are Once Again Perched at 8-1
woundedknees replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A throttling Duck D is the key from here on out, IMO. Foot on the throat, start to finish. Choke the opposing offense into submission. No Mercy. -
Greg McElroy Was TRIGGERED By...Oregon??
woundedknees replied to CjAllen180's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If I'm ESPN, Oregon would lose because the other guys are making money for ME! Ducks have been relegated to Larry's Loser Lounge broadcast far too often this season. -
My Oregon Football Fantasy: Can We Hold This Moment?
woundedknees replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Back in the old days of 13-7, eh? I reemember a few of those... Enjoy this! And Don't forget, Oregon was a leader in creating this era of monster scores! -
Rationale for Predicting a Blowout vs. USC
woundedknees replied to Solar's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I thought the USC AD went mental when they decided to throw the bank at Riley and then allowed the hiring of Grinch... But, what do I know? -
BREAKING: USC Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch Fired
woundedknees replied to Joe F's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hmmm... Spoiled Children+Coordinated D+discipline would be concerning... hahahaha. Any more LR jokes? -
Banished to Pac-12 Network... Again
woundedknees replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Probably some goofball trying to pronounce it the way the historical (or is it hysterical?) Info signs on the I5 crossing you can see Autzen from... Whil-ah-moot, or something silly like that. Modern academics trying to phonetically spell the native (calapooya?) version of the word. -

I may have to go to a bar to watch... DISH hasn't had a FOX contract since last year. -
BREAKING: USC Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch Fired
woundedknees replied to Joe F's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Dangit, Jim... I wanted the Grinch, not some Johnny Come Lately who might have a clue! Surely, folks don't think LR can stumble onto a cohesive defensive strategy in one week? Wait! What??? They're after Lupoi??? I guess the, "Flop if you're tired" strategy could be installed by anyone, in a week. -
Rationale for Predicting a Blowout vs. USC

Gasp... !?! LR is only (mentally) 18 years old??? That explains a lot! -
I remember "Fright Night"... "I don't know if we made a statement, this is just what we planned on doing," Masoli said. "If it makes a statement it makes a statement. That's just Oregon football and how we roll." This 2023 Oregon team seems vastly more capable than that one was.

If Stein and DL tell us Ty is the guy next season, I am inclined to agree until proven otherwise. Something leads me to believe the only way someone starts at QB with those two in charge, is by earning it. Dan Lanning doesn't seem like the sort of boss who responds well to smoke blown in close proximity to his nether regions. (Hope that wasn't over the line!)

Backup running backs are moving nicely. Thompson is throwing decent balls.
