  1. Earlier, I was lamenting the lack of pressure on Ward...
  2. This isn't the crew poached by the B1G, is it?
  3. There was an article this week stating Oregon had the 3rd best cheer uniforms in the country... Behind LSU and Michigan. MSN WWW.MSN.COM
  4. Nice couple of plays for Tez, followed by a great juke and run by Bucky!
  5. Holding... How did the refs spot that?
  6. Pretty much have to call bs on the helmet to helmet involving Bo last week... Bo was obviously down when the the defender came in well after he was down... leading with the helmet! That has been one of the main points that has been emphasized for several years. Can't wait for a (hopeful) upgrade in the B1G, but that would require their newly acquired PAC 12 contingent being sent for remedial education, would it not?
  7. Remember Ronnie Lee being the torture tester for Nikes foray into basketball gear? BTW, I was class of '71 on the hill as well! I remember Russ Francis trying for a tip in on the basketball court and repeatedlly bouncing the ball off the bottom of the rim multiple times in succession before either scoring or sttling for a rebound. No lack of effort there!
  8. He's riding the dominance of his abilities as far as it'll 'stretch'...
  9. Dandy, but I'm sure Coach Lanning would take a a Vegas re-match and a natty invitation over that award every day of the week, and twice on Sunday! Anything more is gravy!
  10. In the second stanza, it seemed like, for extended times, the vaunted downfield passing game of Stein's offense simply disappeared against the fuskies.
  11. At least one idea is buzzing around in my head... could eat be that coach has a trust issue with the kicking game? IMO, DL needs to get another dependable kicking specialist. Cam Lewis is having issues right now, and it would be a huge boon to have at least a viable alternative.
  12. How did Saban or Smart look at this point in their careers? "Methinks thou dost protest too much." I am as disappointed in the outcome as anyone, but we are going to have a few growing pains, and if CDL can keep this transport on the right trajectory, he could definitely prove to be Mr. Right... Just maybe not Mr. Right NOW! (How's that for a mixed metafor?)
  13. Wow. Usuc looks like the do suc in this game. ND created 3 turnovers in the last 3 minutes... 48-30 is gonna leave a mark. Sad to say but ND is gonna jump in the polls.
  14. Bucky is tearing it up... He deserved a shot.
  15. My Granddaughter in Tennessee Is sporting Duck gear on a regular basis... and her Mom went to Illinois.
  16. It's a familiar OLD refrain, is it not? I don't remember (Pardon my synaptic dysfunction, if I'm wrong... I AM 70) a time in the social media era when this was not the general tone of most posts from the befuddled fuskies. BTW, is this still common practice?
  17. At least the poster spelled "douche" right... amazing what the more academically processed fan base can dream up, in't it?
  18. C'mon, man! Williams even agreed with Riley when he stated, "We wouldn’t have won that game without the defense,” Williams said. “We were down 17-0. This whole defensive thing, our brothers, the score wouldn’t be 43-41 without them. So put it simply that way.” MSN WWW.MSN.COM
  19. If Arizona would stop getting PAC12 reffed, this would be a different game.
  20. Williams isn't outshining the Az QB...
  21. Yup, Happy. I see your point. Few years ago, my wife went in for "routine cataract surgery"... during the last pre-op exam our surgeon spotted something under that shook our world in ways no college football game has any comparison to. She eventually lost the eye, after 3 years of treatment. The doctor found it, again, during what they thought was to be the final, triumphant, exam... looking back now, the surgery that scared us silly was the real triumph. Thankfully , this time they got it right! Those kind of victories are so far beyond the scope of any athletic event. Sitting here sharing the joy of following OBD is a bonus we should cherish FWIW. The fact we get to share it with those around us is the cherry on top! BTW, my wife's name happens to be Cherri. She loves OBD, too! Let's celebrate our shared privilege and opportunity on this forum. It's up to us to make it work!
  22. I hope DL stays longer than Rich Brooks!
  23. Definitely a telling comment, eh?
  24. Not quite as catchy as more recent Ducky anthems, but that'll do!
  25. RIP, Russ. Former HS teammate. I distinctly remember the sunny spring morning in 1971 when Russ launched a a javelin throw that set the national hs record. The article is wrong. Russ played football and wrestled in Hawaii, before transferring to Pleasant Hill High School, where he played basketball and ran track. 3 years at Oregon with the football team.
