  1. One would think the example of gym rats like Pritchard set would rub off on younger players... Celtics’ Payton Pritchard on being 6-foot-1 white American guard: ‘A lot of us aren’t there’ WWW.MASSLIVE.COM Payton Pritchard hit all four of his 3-pointers in the fourth quarter in their win over the Raptors. “We’re a bunch of tough dudes and, for me, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today without having a tough mindset,” Pritchard said after the win. “ "It’s not quite the flashiest role coming off the bench. But the third-year pro hasn’t complained this season when he only gets into games late during garbage time." “I’m happy for Payton,” Mazzulla said. “This league can be unforgiving at times. You have to be strong-minded, you got to work hard, you got to be patient. Payton’s all of those things. I’ve always told him: Whenever it’s his time, I trust him completely. He was great tonight.” Contrast that to many of the highly ranked, one and done types. ATTITUDE!
  2. Given the support available to Williams, his performance was the least that should have been expected... If his talent level is all it is made out to be, the nickname he deserves is Mr. Stubs. Toejams seems an appropriate nickname for Coach Riley's team.
  3. According to the reports, the two execs didn't share the info with the right peeps within the conference hierarchy... Beyond Larry Scott, who would that be ?
  4. If 2023 is kind to USC, I will shed a tear... Of frustration. Nothing would make me sadder than to see a triumphant USC striding out the door with their heads held high. Oregon needs to nut up and send them off with the bitter taste of defeat dripping from their lying teeth... (Too much?)
  5. Lanning and the Ducks may have a chance with Robinson, but I question how serious his interest is. Definitely would be worthwhile to have an athlete of that caliber available, but it seems as if Georgia and the spoiled children may have the advantage.
  6. My first live blazer game was against the Celtics, in the old Colosseum... Tommy Heinsohn was still coach of Boston at the time. My buddy and I hung on every word with rapt attention, while huddled over our Sony transistor radio. My friend's Dad had season tix 5 rows behind the visitors bench for years. Good friends to have, eh?. Bill was the epitome of classic!
  7. My first born son was still only a couple months old during the '77 run. I remember rocking him to sleep while listening to the Blazers on the radio. I used to coach a problem solving team (Odyssey of the Mind) when he was in junior high, a decade and a half later. In 1992, we qualified for a world comp which took place on the University of Tennessee campus, during the NBA finals. I had 6, 14 year old Blazer freaks on that team, and a Knoxville bartender (who just happened to be a Duck/Blazer fan), closed off the back room of his establishment so we could watch a game together. Watched on what passed for a big screen back then, and listened to multiple comments about how much more everyone would have enjoyed hearing the Schonz was the announcer. Those were the days!
  8. The faithless USC faithful have genuflected at their own foil wrapped altar for as long as I can recall. The complaints of toejam failures have a Homer-istic epic tragedy quality. "The Football Gods are against us!"
  9. At least there's little doubt Oregon picked up a recruit or two (Novosad/Brock) that wants to be here, and hopefully, wants to work for that privilege.
  10. Better yet, Oregon takes advantage and qualifies for the CFP... Remind me again, how many invites to the CFP or the BCS has USsssuc received? Win something important, then talk to the hand!
  11. It would be poetic justice if the toejamz stubbed on every perceived obstacle thrust in their path to the exit portal...
  12. Troy-lets are wide open, spewing nasty on the way out the door... Can't wait to watch the crying game in the B1G!
  13. It's not a bad thing to have a serviceable QB as a snapper for PAT/short fg situations, ie, Nate Costa types...
  14. Reading their online chatter, that is EXACTLY what GameyCrock fans were looking for... The majority of Duck fans will be happy with the numbers Burch has already showcased, or, with the right coaching, maybe even better.
  15. The machinations, posturings of commissioners, coaches, sycophants, "student" athletes, and all the other trappings of the sport we love will be far more intriguing than watching the national news any day of the week! Warren and Sankey may be two of the greatest Showmen of the 21st Century. Hope this isn't tripping over the rules, Charles. If so, I sincerely apologize. In the meantime, "How about them Ducks?" I don't think I've watched the recruiting cycle unfold with this much anticipation for the future of this program in years! If Lanning and his master craftsman can produce the work of art many of us anticipate, especially on D, Oregon may loom as large on the NCAA map, as OBD live in the hearts of Duck fans everywhere!
  16. Who's to say what time of year it will be? It could happen!
  17. It doesn't necessarily apply to student athletes, but when my daughter was pursuing post graduate studies, she was encouraged by the University of Oregon to seriously consider other schools for that education, despite high deans list performance on her part.
  18. How in the heck did the frog hop into the end zone?
  19. That had to leave a mark...
  20. Bennett hits the bench with 12 minutes left, and the playbook seems to be wide open... Does anyone believe Oregon would have had a much better opportunity vs Georgia with the second string QB? Sheesh!
  21. 45-7.... ? Phew! No recognizable sign of Georgia taking a boot off TCU's collective neck, yet!
  22. The sad part is, Georgia may not believe the mercy rul applies in the natty!
