  1. The positive impact of a corrective action is amplified when acknowledgement of a job well done is there when appropriate.
  2. Takes a Lickin' and keeps on...
  3. Many of you are too young to remember the taste of defeat suffered at the hands of pre-1994 be-Fuddleskie teams... And hopefully will NEVER experience the joy it helped create when the words, "Kenny Wheaton's Gonna Score!!!", resounded through the hearts, minds, nee', even the very souls of Duck fans everywhere. Too many years of bitter defeat, and Fuskie arrogance, which for some of us, will never become 'water under the bridge'. To give an idea how bad it was, our beloved home, Autzen Stadium, was PURPLE that day. The Duck Diehards were vastly outnumbered by the Fuskie faithful who traveled down I-5 in a virtual caravan, a purple wave, flags waving, crashing on the shores of Eugene, breaching the walls of our fortress, and leaving behind a nearly annual flood of bitter despair... The road to Autzen looked like an immigrant surge overwhelming the minds of Duck fans everywhere. And then... "Kenny Wheaton's Gonna Score!!!", and years of pain and regret experienced the beginning of a cleansing purge. For historical context, think of it like our, "Remember the Alamo", moment, when the Ducks channeled a small, ragtag band of Texicans, capturing General Santa Ana, and taking back their land (Yeah, I know... HYPerBOLe", but guys like FD get the analogy, I'm sure!) It will always be a rivalry to those of us who experienced the tidal shift in the hopes and dreams of Duckdom that day! It's payback time, baby!
  4. Throwing into the wind off Mistake Lake would be a major challenge to any QB without experience in that situation. What surprised me is the Be-Fuskled QB had as much trouble as he did, given he gets to practice there! Sheesh!
  5. Jesus, PURPLE? That color reminds me of a Corpse Lily that someone planted in our yard, a decade or so back... Putrid! Just like their current brand of football.
  6. Polluted... Stagnant?
  7. Oregon Storm Trouper assault on Flushkie stadium... What a massacre!
  8. What's the descriptive term for a young father's reaction when rocking a sick child in the wee hours of the morning, and just as he dozes off, the burbling sound of fresh vomit assaults his ears for the first time? Yeah, that word!
  9. The outcome of this game could easily lead to the appellation, "Fanturd", if things go the way Duck fans hope.
  10. I remember Oregon fans being petrified when the Ducks were forced to play an unheralded QB named Graziani against USC, when Danny O'neil was forced to sit out the game with a flesh eating virus on his throwing hand... Seems to me that game turned satisfyingly well, as did the rest of the season.
  11. Oregon Health Sciences University was a subsidiary of the University of Oregon, at one time. Oregon also had an engineering department. The state of Oregon dictates what each school is allowed to offer, and spun off those programs at some point in the past.
  12. It's a package protector with the instruction sheet attached...
  13. Charles, that picture presents a vastly superior view than the somewhat similar combination employed by the Oregon football program in the recent past!
  14. 4 quarters of that 34-3 offense we glimpsed would easily come close. Dang, that was some uplifting stuff to watch, for a bit!
  15. I was sitting there with my Grandson, foolishly thinking , "Geez, they way this half is going, a couple more first downs, and Duckies might have this", then the field opened up in front of Brown, like the parting of the Red Sea, and he, he... threw that gawdoffal pick, instead of scampering for an untouched 7-10 yards. Why can't Duck fans have nice, relaxing, Saturdays in the fall? Oh, well, glad I don't have to eat crow, again... Yet.
  16. Ya'know... It's NOT me! OK, not funny, I know. I appreciate the dedication, Charles!
  17. Nightmare green is close enough to black to get the attention of any viewers watching Oregon stomp an opponent into the turf at Oregon. A stampede on a cattle drive is fast and deadly, compared to the daily grind the cowboys preferred. (At least that's what my grandpa liked to spin yarns about when talking about the long cattle drive he made to get from Oklahoma to Oregon... )
  18. That was pretty much my main complaintwhen Chip was here... Oregon lack the ability to play tough when that was the needed factor. Smarter or faster? Those were Oregon's hallmark. Tougher, especially along the both lines might have given the Ducks a better opportunity to get the job done in the few games where speed was simply not enough.
  19. Helf had his shortcomings (I know, UNDERSTATEMENT of the decade!), but he definitely could get more out of a QB than some give him credit for. I wish Costa had been able to have a more protracted playing experience... I believe he might have been part of the answer.
  20. IIRC, the "tree" was introduced as their mascot shortly after the Cardinal replaced the "Indians" as Stanford's mascot... If memory serves, it was at an Oregon game, around the time the timber based economies of Oregon and Washington were coming under heavy attack by the environmentalist movement. At the time it was considered by many as a cheap shot. Some of us failed to recognize the thinly veiled insult as "humor"
  21. Graves is here because of his long, VERY successful career. Oregon recruited him as hard as Graves pursues top level student athletes.
  22. Just be glad OUR Duck is Green and Yellow... It could be worse, And beats the heck outa "Gamecock!
  23. OMG!!! Is that a fuskie grave he's dancing on? How droll!
  24. My vote goes to Campbell. I believe at times he was the best RB coach in college football.
