  1. Stanford is his other major academic institution of note, IIRC. Didn't PK have a Masters of some kind from there? Hard to believe my first running shoes were bought from him when they (Eugene Off Willamette Street, IIRC.)
  2. Hopefully it is a huge boost for the Ducks, and Eugene, as well. I honestly haven't flown Southwest since my flight was delayed in Phoenix, and they decided to put us all up at a hotel adjacent to the ASU campus, on a party weekend... Let's just say, nobody got any sleep, that night!
  3. Doubters need to admit, Lombardi inherited a @*%?!! Show when her predecessor departed, and still managed to produce a half decent result with a miss-matched mash-up of walk-on's, late transfers, and players lined up in positions they traditionally hadn't played in the past. Even more impressive wass the start put together by the team in last year's COVID shortened season. This year, with a much better prepared squad, and several well chosen additions to the line up, her talents are being highlighted in spectacular fashion. This is looking like it may have been an Altman-like hire. Time will tell.
  4. Yo-Yo-Yo! It was a very impressive performance, on a weekend when the Ducks were putting on a show.
  5. I keep looking at Joey Harrington and Jason Feeley... Feeley had by far the longer pro career, yet couldn't keep his starting gig at Oregon once JH got his chance.
  6. I dis member when Duck unis were not dissimilar.
  7. IIRC correctly, Nebraska (Pre-schollie limit) had something like 3 times the players suited up for the road game in Omaha that Oregon did. There were 3rd stringrs on Nebraska's squad who would have been potential starters for multiple PAC8 teams of the day. One write up by the R-G mentioned the huge disparity in facilities... The entire Duck football complex of the day could have fit in Nebraska's weight room, IIRC.
  8. Ducks up 3-1 in the 7th for this final game of the series.
  9. The refs worked hard to keep UCLA closer than they should have been. Ducks D and execution in the second half, PRICELESS!
  10. I think the Duck v Beav game could be the "HoozyerDaddy Bowl", or something inoffensive like "Thump Yer Budder Cup", most years.
  11. Ouch! So, you're saying, there's No chance? I'll admit, 'Analytics For Dummies' would suggest so!
  12. If Brown could absorb half the skill differential between him and Adams, it would be a significant upgrade!
  13. "Oh, well... They weren't up to the Pastel Purple Puppies' exacting standards, anyway. You know, just not an "OKG" sorta fella! Oops! Maybe that's a little to retro?
  14. Sounds like Charles may need to adopt Jim Rome's theme song, "Up All Night"!
  15. So far, MC is the only thing that Wonkee Willie seems to have gotten right... If he can learn to enable his assistants and allow them to do their jobs to the best of their ability, while maintaining a stronger hold on things like clock management, I believe the Ducks will be just fine.
  16. Ducks win second game vs the Bulldogs, 2-1. Raegan gets the win (1.08 era), Diaz with the save. Ducks improve to 7-0 for the season!
  17. 10-2 VICTORY! Yanez with her first complete game (12k) of the season, and hitting lead by the freshman!
  18. What can I say, but please, everyone, encourage your Duck friends to check this place out! Nothing makes a developer happier than to see positive growth for his vision! Thank you, Charles!
  19. Impressive... How in the world did UW let these slip through their fingers?
  20. "Punky Wood", at that... What us loggers kids (And some farm/ranch kids) liked to refer to as 'culls'.
  21. Charles would likely do a far superior job hiring subordinates to whom he could delegate responsibilities such as those! Although he might prefer some venue such as Sisters, Oregon, to Las Vegas! I'm on board!
  22. And the Ducks finish the night with a 5-3 victory over the Lopes.
  23. Usually good for a program to 'grease the skids', so to speak. Of course, handle the grease wrong, and it might speed up the skid...
  24. The only time I ever rooted for UW was when Jake Locker was leading a late comeback attempt against BYU, and got a delay of game penalty for throwing the ball in the air in his excitement... Typical PAC12 style ref work, but I hate to see something like that decide the biggest game of a kid's life. Jake didn't get many of those opportunities while suffering the consequences of poor life choices...
