  1. As a wiser man than me (Mel Brooks) once said/sang

Hope for the best, expect the worst
Some drink champagne, some die of thirst
No way of knowing which way it's going
Hope for the best, expect the worst!

Hope for the best, expect the worst
    The world's a stage, we're unrehearsed
Some reach the top, friends, while others drop, friends
Hope for the best, expect the worst!

  2. The recruiting service sites will always have that “exuberance” because their mods fashion themselves as recruiting insiders and pound the drum endlessly for clicks by need to know first followers.   You’re bound to generate moronic posts in that environment.

Thankfully, Charles has created a clubhouse where we can share Duck news minus the drama.

So, Jac’Qawn McRoy is ranked as the No. 3 Offensive Tackle in the nation by 247 Sports?

The 247Sports rankings are determined by our recruiting analysts after countless hours of personal observations, film evaluation and input from our network of scouts.

And yet No. 50 at Rivals?  Whew!  I'm going with the coaches on this one...

I listened to the latest Duck Territory podcast yesterday and they were talking about these 4 recruits as all being 4 and 5 stars on 247?   Prehm discussed how landing all 4 was possible, 3 was highly likely.   And if so that Oregon's class would flirt with Top 5 in the country status.

  4. Lots of good takes and good "faith" input here.....I suspect that Dan's allure is his authenticity.    My guess is that he neither demurs from nor leads with his faith.  Rather he lives it and it imbues his character.

Those that are drawn to faith find that connection with him, while others find a connection with his compassion, humanity, integrity and love of the game.

Good leaders give their team multiple ways to get on board with the mission
