  1. I'm not sure. I am also not sure it matters anymore with modern roster management. Convert a player to a PWO with an NIL package and you have solved your schools limit problem. Of course, pure conjecture on my end but what seems to be happening when reading between the lines.
  2. So, the Daylen Austin news may factor into the portal dynamics? As for the nose position, I heard on one of the podcasts that Coach Tuioti is very high on Amauri at Nose....he played 80+ snaps last season and has some of the most "violent hands" Coach has seen. The O-live reporter, James Crepea, has a 4-deep with Caldwell starting at Nose, Amauri as backup, and Keyon at the Dorlus spot with Caldwell backing him up. 3 guys for 2 DL spots seems thin to me, too. I expected 2 or 3 DL transfers, we have 1 so far in Caldwell.....who's next? Oh, and F that bastard Jonathan Smith for holding on to the MSU guy....
  3. I am sure Alique told him how much a season protecting a southpaw would raise his draft stock even higher....
  4. Remember when Chip convinced Jeff Lurie to give him roster management control from Howie Roseman in Philly? He hired his own guy, made a bunch of bad trades and was fired at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Howie is still there. That's why it would be foolish to hire him in the NFL again. Which likely means Spanos has Chip on speed dial. From NFL.com: The Eagles also announced that Ed Marynowitz, Kelly's hand-picked vice president of player personnel, was also released. It's a telling part of this change in direction. This firing comes nearly a year to the day that Kelly got control of the personnel department last offseason, leading to former general manager Howie Roseman having a reduced role on the football side of the team. Roseman, now an executive vice president, will be part of the group that hires the next Eagles coach.
  5. The free market is the best poverty alleviation system ever devised.....said someone wise once.
  6. Exactly. Fentress is a retread of Ken Goe for the social media era. Gadfly click hustler
  7. I think it's a little early to extinguish the Freauff hype.....I'm hearing good things.
  8. Mothudi is a 4-star who is still in play.....he might put Dan over the top tonight.
  9. I saw the news and figured WKU was playing the Chargers?
  10. In fairness to Ty, when he did get into games, he looked better than Chris Harper at QB.
  11. I feel similarly about recruiting and the portal......I get excited about a player when he laces up cleats and steps on the field as a Duck. I have had my fill of 5 star recruits who never play a down and never grow tired of the 3 star kid that develops into a regular contributor. Sure I follow the drama of the offseason because I love OBD, but I don't lose sleep over the roster churn and trust the staff. The older I get the more I just enjoy the journey, the ups and the downs, and realize how precious each season is. Besides, what else a I going to obsess about? Politics, pop culture, AI.....no thanks.
  12. I cleared the shelves at Bi-Mart....but, I could conveniently courier a couple of combustible carbon cubes Chez Vous compadre!
  13. I am on double colon-clench lockdown this week. If I were to use a Kingsford charcoal briquet as a suppository, by Friday's kickoff, it would be a diamond. We're talking pressure on a geologic scale.
  14. This is the key to happiness I have employed for years now.....and it works.
  15. Make sure you don't forget to lock the van while you're gone, Matt Foley. You remember what happened last time.
  16. The loss hurt.....but having the pressure on the Doogs for the last 5 weeks has been beneficial to us.
  17. Yep, we are in Bama/Georgia strata for now in terms of coordinator poaching....there will be a rotation through the program as long as we are successful. In a couple of years, we will be rehabilitating someone like Chip or Billy Napier into a second chance HC. I hope we hang on to some position coaches that recruit like banshees and maintain the culture.
