  1. Officiating in the Pac-12 has always been a problem. Not only in basketball but football officiating has its problems also. Officials in the Pac-12 are placed under Larry Scott and officiating is just another thing about the Pac-12 that he has screwed up.
  2. Yes, that is true. However Oregon is not an OK school. To be where Oregon wants to be, (National Champion) being just mediocre or even "good" won't cut it. To be the No. 1 football team having a "great" QB is a must. To be a National Champion, you have to make sure you are getting the most of what a player can be and while at Oregon Justin could have been better then he was had he received better coaching. His receivers could have been better also.
  3. That might be what happened to a recent Oregon QB that transferred out.
  4. It's not that way in college sports because in college the owners make a lot of money and the players don't make any at all. What is wrong with this picture ??
  5. To me, their has been to many games that we have barely won that we should have "dominated" for me to say our coaching staff has a good track record. For our OC we have a 1/2 season for his track record here at Oregon and I have to say it did not look like his old track record at his previous schools. For our DC we have no track record here at Oregon and when coaches change schools there are always changes that take place. His new HC may not give him the freedom he had at his old school. A total unknown at this point. For our HC, the trophy's are in the cage but like I said not enough "domination" games and he has shown he has a lot to learn yet.
  6. As we all know much can happen between now and September. My thoughts are: 1) Ohio State, well what can I say. For the eye test we need to get as much out of this game as possible. 2) Stanford for now is a "use to be" team. 3) UCLA, hold on to your hats lady's and gentleman. 4) Washington, If you get cocky you lose. 5) Utah, just one more, "please". 6) Pac-12 Championship game, USC, anyones game. The biggest question: Is our coaching staff up to the level of our players talent ??
  7. For a defensive guy to win the Heisman you have to play for Alabama. It's not the way it should be but it is the way it is.
  8. I have gotten into a practice that if Walton is there my sound gets turned down to "0". It's the only way I can handle him. I can't imagine why he is still here year after year.
  9. The grey uniforms didn't seem to bother the men's basketball team. Final: Oregon - - - 82 UCLA - - - - 74
  10. If their are no "all you can eat" joints in Eugene, I can understand why. Wow, 6' 9" at 360. What a placeholder.
  11. Do you really think a one loss Pac-12 team can get into the national playoffs ?? Hmmmmmm. Only if USC and another Pac-12 top 15 team get beat by them. So is there another top 15 team in the Pac-12 ??
  12. Interesting perspective Ryan. Thanks for bringing it to us.
  13. The old saying "I'ed rather be lucky then good" is so true.
  14. In the past Oregon has robbed the Washington basket many times. They should be used to it by now.
  15. Yep, and some wonder why people say the Pac-12 is irrelevant.
  16. This rating system is all wrong. It looks to be based on what the coach has done over their lifetime rather then what they can do in the 2021/2022 season as the title would suggest. David Shaw was once great but what's he done in the last 3 years ?? Not much and with his recruiting classes as they are what is he going to do in the 2021/2022 season - - - not much. He does not deserve #3. Again Chip Kelly was once great but what's he done in the last 3 years ?? Not much. He's living on his history and as the writer points out, this season is "pivotal" for Chip to keep his position. He does not deserve #5 Clay Helton has taken a team that he helped to put in the gutter and brought them out to be competing for the Pac-12 title. Now that is doing something. He also is recruiting very well. He deserves to be above Shaw and Chip. You are so right about this Southern Duck. Except Nick Sabin is not in the Pac-12. (Darn)
  17. Yes, true class. Thats the way to take over a team.
  18. The Pac-12 Network was also created and managed by Larry Scott. It was created by him by saying it was going to be "profitable", which it is not and never was. It is just a part of his messing up the entire Pac-12 conference and putting it in the bad situation we see it now - - - - an irreverent, dying P5 conference. That is, of course why Larry Scott is being replaced.
  19. Good points Ed O, I would think that the Texas sports network actually makes money rather then the Pac-12's sports network that loses money. An advantage for Texas.
