USC Fans Are....a Little Salty Over Pleasant
That first one threw me through a loop... Is Lanning supposed to be trh frat boy and not Riley? Because if you had to choose between the two I'm pretty sure it would be Riley. Just look at their respective houses. Also... Trojan tears are delicious. Keep them coming.

Quaaack! Pleasant Commits to Oregon!
Going 1-1 on big time athletes is a good place to be for the Ducks. Also beating USC is always a good thing.

New Updates: 5-Star Nyckoles Harbor Recruitment...Whew!
Update on an article from 247 National Signing Day 2023: Oregon 'in good position for' 5-star Nyckoles Harbor, over South Carolina 247SPORTS.COM ... Also Oregon now apparently has a 247 person logging a prediction for Oregon to land Harbor... so who knows what is going on????

Building Lanning’s Defense: Who’s Calling the Shots?
I think this was the biggest problem last year. No pass rush meant that the secondary could get picked apart all day and some days they did. The secondary has its problems but over the course of the year the secondary really did improve quite a bit.

Patriots Hire OC, but Klemm...
But you don't have to recruit at the NFL level and recruiting is absolutely brutal on the work-life balance.

Building Lanning’s Defense: Who’s Calling the Shots?
They certainly have flipped the roster. So I think that should help pretty quickly because these are the players Lanning wants rather than players he has inherited.

Wowza...Ready for Another YOUNG Oregon Football Team?
I think it is the new normal that teams are going to be pretty young for the most part. Most players that don't contribute on the field will probably be pushed out of the program before they are juniors.

The Sound of USC Whining Should be Legally Classified as Noise Pollution
Well... The funny thing is that because 2020 was the weird season that it was... It is ACTUALLY our turn to host USC. We played a regular season game at USC in 2019. 2020 we were supposed to host USC but civid messed all that up and we hosted UCLA instead who we weren't supposed to play until 2021. Then we played USC in the conference championship game (and won I might add) at USC but that was not a regular season game. So it's our turn to host... Granted I think they want 2020 to count even though it didn't count (like what Washington got) but I also think the PAC would like to see USC get it's butt kicked this year as well.

Isaah Crocker to the Portal
Not a surprise, more surprising that he hasn't opted for the portal sooner. He could certainly see some playing time in G5 or on an FCS team if he just wants to see the field.

Why Oregon Should Jump at Opportunity to Join Another Conference
It was the first year of trying this with any sport and is only one data point. It will be interesting to see how this changes for the duration of the Amazon contract with the NFL. I suspect the numbers will probably improve from year to year as more people get used to watching through a streaming service. I know I am on the younger side of participants at FishDuck and I cut my cable (which I only had for Duck games) and I will be moving to more exclusive streaming for my football fix moving forward as it is easier to sign up and cancel when the season ends. Once more people get used to accessing streaming services for their live programming I can see these numbers swinging the other way. The other interesting thing that might be difficult to track is how many people are sharing accounts on these streaming platforms? That could cause the numbers to be reported lower than they actually are.

Why Oregon Should Jump at Opportunity to Join Another Conference
There is also the assumption that even the diminished Big-12 is going to be better than the Pac-10. I think TCU's National Championship game appearanced shows just how weak the Big-12 is going to be in the future without Texas and Oklahoma. He does say that the Pac will probably get a better media deal than the Big-12 but still I don't see the Big-12 being better at Football than the Pac in the near future. I think the Pac will be surprisingly fine and maybe after one cycle of the media deal and if both LA schools are bleeding out financially from the travel and the exhaustion we might see them wanting to come back... probably not... but still it would be funny.

Tulane DC Chris Hampton Leaving for Position Coaching Job at Oregon
He's going from a G5 school to a P5 school... For the time being the pac-12 is still in that upper tier of schools. Pay is one thing that would be better but the other thing is that he gets more attention and becomes a high profile coach. If he wants to be a head coach some day then this is a step in that direction.

USC -Loses an Asset
I'm not surprised, I think the expectations for this USC team were so sky high and they fell short of it that I wouldn't be surprised if more end up leaving for the NFL if eligible. I also remember some rumors after he transferred that maybe he didn't get the NIL money that was offered to him originally.

QUAAACK: Sheldon QB Brock Thomas is a Duck
It goes to show just how far Oregon's recruiting juggernaut has come when they start taking 3-star local kids as PWOs instead of a scholarship. We have seen this happen a ton over the past few years where athletes from Oregon join the Ducks as PWOs because they aren't good enough to warrant a scholarship out the gate. This is a major change for the program. Not all that long ago this would have been a scholarship for Oregon but not anymore.

Cam McCormick is a 'Cane
This makes a lot of sense in some ways... Cam knows the staff and is going somewhere sunny and warm to play his final years. Say what you will about Cristobal but he did stick with Cam through years of injuries. Cam has too much history of injury to get to the NFL no matter how much he sees the field in his last two years. We won't play him, barring any sort of bowl game, so I just wish him the best.

OC Garrett Riley To Clemson
The clock is ticking for Dabo... Clemson has been the juggernaut he created at the end of the 2010's and he needs to get it back. Clemson has been all about continuity as a major factor to their success but they need some new blood and an injection of life. Clemson is the ONLY thing that makes the ACC relevant when it comes to football. FSU is on the rise with Norvell but who knows how good they'll be in a couple years... Clemson doesn't want to be no. 2 to FSU that's for sure.

Who Needs the Pros With a 13Mil NIL?
I believe the promises of money in this range... not sure if I fully believe the payouts at the moment. But there are fan bases have have some rich alumni who want their program to be relevant again... looking at Florida for this one but we have also seen this with Tennessee and USC and Texas would also make that list. I can see a lot of these programs lacking any sense of restraint and promising loads of money but then not delivering come signing day.

Oregon's Current Scholarship Distribution Chart (1/2023)
Oregon football 2023 scholarship distribution chart - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Here's a look at Oregon's scholarship distribution for the 2023 season, including the Ducks' 2023 signing cllass. An interesting look at Oregon's current roster and scholarship distribution. What stood out to me the most is the Edge position. Look at that Freshman class.

Growling About Grinch: USC Fans Are NOT Happy
Oregon State Grinch, as so this fan thinks, is dependent on very bad quarterback play. Riley is still thinking this is the Big-12 where they really play just enough defense to get by. Granted it seemed to work well enough for him to sneak into the championship game but that wasn't good enough to win it. And it certainly won't be good enough once they move to the B1G.

Transfer a Second Time? Not So Fast...
At least for head coaches... That's a hard sell to coordinators and position coaches.

Cam McCormick Enters Transfer Portal
I can also see him wanting to take the opportunity to move away from Oregon a bit and just get a chance to do other things. This is going to be 8th year of college football! He has 9 years of total eligibility. He was recruited by Mark Helfrich! I can understand him wanting to go somewhere else. I also wouldn't be surprised if there is some inside information about other potentially incoming tight ends who might have a higher ceiling and push him out of the rotation. And as you said in previous articles Charles, maybe Cam just doesn't want to work as hard as Lanning is pushing everyone. That coupled with my first point could be a very good reason for leaving.

Can Oregon Duplicate the Georgia Model?
A few thoughts from a great article Charles... A key line at the end sets everything else above it up wonderfully, it wasn't until year 6 that Smart won his first National Title. He was at Georgia for SIX years. Oregon hasn't had a coach stick around for more than four years since Bellotti and that feels like a lifetime ago now. Oregon needs Lanning to stick around for a long enough period of time to really recruit and develop guys. Now, we live in the age of the transfer portal and NIL and we just saw Lanning turnover HALF of his roster so far which is incredible. However, the transfer portal is usually a place to shop for band-aids in the form of impact now players. These can be some key players who play integral roles on the team during the season but these are players who need to come developed and have to learn the scheme fast. What Lanning really needs the time to do is to take his recruiting classes and develop those players. I think many of us have been saying for awhile now that it has become clear that under Cristobal the vast majority of players weren't developed. Some who had natural talent seemed to get enough development to make it to the next level but we saw a lot of busts from four-star guys. Lanning needs to find some players he can bring in that are good players (stars still do matter and that was on display lastnight!) and then take those players to the next level. I think Lanning can do it and this next season is going to be exciting once again for Ducks fans.

From Transfer Portal: Arizona State LB Connor Soelle Commits to Oregon
We're seeing it happen! Building Lanning's Defense: The Linebackers FISHDUCK.COM Dan Lanning's defense this season did not live up to his standard, and it wasn't even close. Oregon's defense couldn't get off the... Need to get linebackers that fit what Lanning needs.

Lincoln Riley's Brother Doesn't Want Him At Game?
Garrett has been apart of a team that has won more cfp games that Lincoln. So there's that.
