Yawn...We Are SO BORED With Being No. 1...
For this graybeard, i love this kind of boring. I am with all posters who support being #1. How often does #1 happen? Not often, so i am enjoying every moment. This years version is more methodical and less exciting, yet dominant. Go Ducks, bore us to death!

Oregon’s Offense Adopts Hockey’s Three Periods of Play
Darren thank you for that deep dive into the puzzling third quarter woes of OBD,s. For this Duck fan, I am more excited that our violent Duck Defense has only surrendered 30 3rd quarter points for an average of 3 points The Defense has made certain that OBD's did not lose control of the games. DL knows that the offense does not play to its potential in the 3rd quarter. Even if the substitution level is high. Go Ducks....whoop on the Badgers and clinch that spot in the BIG CCG.....

Stewart Mandel Predicts Ohio State as B1G Champion...
As mentioned by others, we need to take care of business in Madison and secure the spot. Handle the huskies..... No more injuries and hope all the starters are healthy by mid-December. If we do face tOSU in the CCG then it truly is anyones guess. They could have beat us on our home turf and OBD's were fortunate to beat the Buckeyes. Rematch # 2 could go either way. A loss in the CCG, as others mentioned won't keep us from the CFP. However, the 5th spot is not guaranteed.......we have to be 12-0 going into the CCG. if we go in 11-1 and lose, well a 11-2 Duck team may not grab #5. Just food for thought. Going undefeated is difficult at the P-5 Level. And while this is fun info to ponder, this old Duck fan has witnessed many November slip ups by favorites. Long ways to go but this team has all the ingredients and shoild be 12-0 heading to the CCG. GO DUCKS.....handle wisconsin.

No. 1 Ducks Silence Maryland to Stay Perfect
Jordan, love the stew analogy... OBD's certainly threw enough ingredients into the pot. Hope all that is behind this team and the rythmn and flow returns to the offense.Another week of practice should help Iuli get the rust off. Maryland worked hard and their game plan, coupled with Duck penalties allowed the Terps to control the clock. That combo, thrown into the stew allowed Maryland to limit OBD's possessions and scoring opportunities This team has truly excelled at overcoming key injuries all season. This game was no different. Key injuries were the main ingredient in the stew pot However, though shaky, the next man up stew ingredient was successful.... The defense was aggressive, hard hitting and relentless. Only defensive and special teams penalties kept Maryland in this game. But the outcome was never in doubt. The defense threw points into the stew. Call it the special seasoning...... DL and staff along with the players have shown this fan their work effort toward improvement. Wisconsin will demand that the Ducks continue to improve if they want to leave Madison with a win. Are we confident this will happen? This fan is...... Go Ducks.....

Can Oregon Clinch a BIG CCC Spot Next Weekend?
GeoteckDuck you may have summed this up cotrectly. However, i am not 100% certain. It would best if OBD's win the last 2 games and guarantee their seat at the CCG. Having 4 teams end up 11-1 is a real possibility in the BIG...... No reason to be part of that messy scenario. I have some concerns about OBD's going undefeated. It is very difficult.

B1G Football: Some Say “Physicality.” I Say “Bad Offense.”
Darren, well stated! Prior to this season, in conference games from 21 thru 23 Michigan, tOSU and PSU beat every team in the BiG. Michigan beat tOSU & PSU, while tOSU beat PSU. Conference foes did not field enough offense to beat the top 3 teams. ( May hsve been an upseti in those years but i didn"t find one.) PSU had enough offense to beat every other BIG team but not enough to win against the big 2. Michigan had enough offense, coupled with a great defense to best the Buckeyes. Now the Wolverine offense has no punch and just a good defense. Thus very few, if any upsets in the natural order of the BIG... The fact that OBD's beat the Buckeyes and Wolverines must be troubling to their fans on many levels. The PAC had major upsets every season especially after dark. If your offense sputtered you could lose. The Ducks can lose big games if the offense struggles or becomes one dimensional. Or if the defense can't hold down a high powered offense. However, in the current state of the BIG our OBD's are built to dominate any team that doesn't have a offense thay can score. Because a bad offense will not beat a great offense......except if you play usuck! GO DUCKS......

Monday Injury Update! Oregon's Tez Johnson and Marcus Harper....
Well i am happy for OBD's and Tez. Having Tez in the the CFP is a weapon that both BSU and tOSU know, first hand, is hard to contain. Other CFP teams would face similar problems. Also, Tez needs to close his college career on the field competing. His story needs to end hoisting that Natty trophy. Great news........
-
It's Going to Get Harder Every Game for Oregon
This team has quality, depth and a winning attitude throughout. The Ducks are pretty darn deep at receiver. Tez is special but the remaining weapons are exceptional OBD's are very thin at depth on the O Line. Our last 3 opponents are not loaded on their front 7. Whoever plays should be able to get the job done. Hopefully some original O Line starters will be available by the BIG CCG. At the QB position we are ultra thin. If DG goes down, it would be as devastating as losing Dixon. DG's experience, accuracy and mobility keep opponents off balance. The Duck opponents don't know what the next will be. The backups have talent but lack experience...... My concern would be the BIG CCG against tOSU or Indiana. We need all hands on deck. And the best players playing.

USC Can't Afford to Keep Riley
Well in lalaland dilusional reigns supreme. Riley stays until the boosters handover the dollars for his buyout and the new coach buyout. I would be chasing down Urban Meyers Chris Peterson or Bob Stoops with an armored truck full of cash first. The helm needs substance. Then if i was the trojan AD, Cignetti would be high on my radar. However, he has benefitted from a soft schedule! The meat of his schedule is upcoming. Let's see how that turns out. If he beats Michigan, tOSU and Purdue to close the season. Then beats OBD's in the BIG CCG, then i would be getting after him. So will a few other big name schools Lots to prove between now and Dec 7th. Cignetti may be loyal and true to his word just as DL is and not interested in leaving Indiana. I shouldnt be this happy at usucks bleak picture. Sir Charles has helped me learn how not to be noble......

No. 1 Oregon Ducks Crash Big House-AGAIN
Jordan great recap as you summed it all up..... Oregon did pretty much what they wanted to, when they wanted to and Michigan had no answers. Thank you and all the writers for your time and effort. This fan and forum member appreciate all of you. We are all in the midst of what could truly be epic for OBD's. GO DUCKS....Destroy Maryland!

Third Quarter Problems - Question
While the 3rd quarter lack of scoring is concerning and may end up biting OBD's in a future game, I didnt feel that was cause for concern yesterday. The Ducks go 3 and out to start. Michigan loaded the box and also brought a 5th pass rusher on the 3rd down pass play. DG had no time to get the ball past the line to gain. Ducks punt. The wolverines go on about a 6 minute drive and score. Michigan kicks off, Stein adjusts his play calling and with the aid of penalties uses all but 47 seconds of the 3rd quarter and puts up 3 points. On that drive DG called some last second audibles and all worked out okay. In the 4th quarter Michigan drives into the redzone and comes up empty. The Ducks engineer their 2nd, 90 plus yard scoring drive of the game to ice it. Leaving Michigan just a few seconds to operate with. The offense readjusted to Michigans half time adjustments and took alot of time off the clock while putting 10 points on the board. The Ducks outscored the Wolverines in both half's. And 4 true freshmen played in this gane for the Duck's Great job by the offense and defense. For me, special team play is a concern at times. GO Ducks beat Maryland.....

Week 10 - Austin Mock's Playoff Mock - Puddles Is Flying High
I think they have the teams picked JJ. However, too early on the seeding.... Why? To much is unsettled in the SEC. Nobody is stepping up to dominate the conference. It's anybodies guess! Georgia has Ole Miss and Tennessee left on their schedule. A Dawg loss, while not likely puts them behind the head to head with Bama. And neither team may make the SEC ritle game. If LSU beats Bama does a 3 loss Bama make the playoff? And without being a homer with the vision of Duck colored glasses; a rematch with tOSU would be a toss-up game. This is fun stuff but darn nerve wracking. GO DUCKS........

Oregon GameDay Thread versus Michigan: Join Us!
Well Michigan's defense and their fans wanted OBD's in the Big House and now they got them. Wonder how they feel half way thru this game? Long ways to but...... It's awfully quiet for 100k plus fans in attendance. GO DUCKS....blow the Wolverines oit of their own stadium.

The B1G Reveal - 10 and Counting
If tOSU loses to Penn State it will weaken OBD's quality win over the Buckeyes. As long as Georgia stomps Florida I expect the committee to vote Georgia #1. Bias? Maybe. If Georgia wins out they will add powerful wins over Ole Miss and Tennessee to their resume. OBD's have no meat left on their schedule. But thats the course in a beauty pageant. Just win out, put the BIG Trophy Title on the mantle and make a deep run in the CFP. GO DUCKS.......

Is Oregon Becoming The Villain?
Maybe becoming the 2nd cousin that nobody wants to invite to their house. And you dread going to their house but you have to, anyway. OBD's have everybodys attention, now they need to close it out. Any loss going foward in the last 4 games will be considered a bad loss. GO DUCKS......

Michigan's Plan to Slow Down Oregon's Receiving Corps, Limit Explosion Plays
When they tried to get in the way, they got run over, trampled amd knocked into next week. The Duck Defense was very physical, too. I think the Wolverines will know that the Ducks are big, physical and mean. GO DUCKS........

Every Game is Must Win for Ohio State
As good as PSU is the OSU squad is loaded with talent. Lets be honest they played well enough and could have beat OBD's. I think the fans and media are in a panic but not the players. Right now they have injuries to their O Line. They are rotating players to find the combo needed. Just like the Ducks were thru the first 3 games and look how that turned out. You are right they cannot afford to lose any games if they want a rematch with the Ducks in the BIG title game. i expect tOSU to win in a close game. The Buckeyes are in CFP elimination mode now. They control their own destiny. I could be wrong on this but the Buckeyes are on the Oregon level.

Michigan's Plan to Slow Down Oregon's Receiving Corps, Limit Explosion Plays
No team all season has had a problem containing or limiting Michigans offense, except the usucks. OBD's defense keeps improving weekly. This will be the best defense Michigan plays against so far this year. Only the Ducks O can keep the Wolverines in this game. Just like many of you have posted and the article pointed out, mistakes, penalties, turnovers, etc by the Ducks will allow Michigam to hang. Well Wolverines your players and fans have been wanting Oregon in the Big House. Careful what you wish for because this may be the best and deepest squad Oregon has ever had. Gonna be a great game. Oregon best bring ot for 60 minutes because this is Michigans biggest bowl game this year.

Is the B1G Easier than the Pac-12?
David thanks for the article and your valid points. Of course we have 4 more games to play to have a full season to review. From this fans perspective I see the BIG being more predictable than easy. Idaho, BSU and tOSU brought more diversity in their game plans. Similar to how you explained the divetsity within the PAC. Those 3 games were a greater challenge for OBD's andx2 of those games were decided on the last plays. And all of us were on the edhe of our seats, well i was. While Michigan is one dimensional on offense and the Duck D should dominate, their Defense will be stout! Go Ducks.....beat the wolverines.
-
Who Should Get COY, Cignetti, Lanning or Somebody Else?
Sure alot of football left to play! To me it is CIgnetti and Lanning. If Indiana wins out then its a no brainer. Go Ducks.....

Dan Mullen Cautions Duck Fans
If my notes correct and please feel free to correct me. Afterall I am not a Buckeye, Huskt or Trojan fan. All the Duck redshirts can play 4 games in the first 12 regulat season games and not burn that redshirt. Games 13 thru 17 dont count. DL has littered the field with a number of players in the 2nd half of MSU, Purdue, UCLA and Illinois. If any coach is on top of tgat it would be DL..... NCAA, gove all players 5 years or 6 years to play 5. I agree with Danielson that you get better games as players mature. Dl Is 30-5 with 2-6th year QB Transfers. GO DUCKS.....beat them wolverines.

Oregon Ducks Football: 3 Keys to Beating Michigan
Michigan will do there best to shorten the game and limit the opportunities and possessions the Ducks have. The Ducks need to score points on as many possessions as possible. Play clean, protect DG and blow the Wolverines out by halftime. Take the crowd out of the game esrly. Fotce Michigan to play catch up all day. The longer the Ducks allow Michigan to hang around it opens the door for an upset. Only Oregon can beat Oregpn......

The Athletic's ($ Wall) Austin Mock's Post Week 9 Playoff Field
AnotherOD, you raise some good points in your solid post. I am not certain how the CFP Selection Committee will view some of these teams and their SOS. Who have Miami, Clemson, SMU, Pitt, Iowa State and BYU played and beaten? Do their schedules compare to the SEC or BIG? Have they played or beaten a SEC or BIG team? I don't have those answers! We will have a better picture on the first selection poll in early November. For me, conference strength is a key component. Some 2 loss SEC teams may or could have a better resume than a one loss team in ACC/Big12. However, that may not be the case with the committee. Either way there will be some upset teams. I think SEC gets 4, BIG gets 3 (if Indiana wins 11 games they get invited) ACC gets 1, Big 12 gets 1, Group of 6 gets 1, ND steals 1. If Indiana gets in thats it. If they dont then 1 big invite is up for grabs. Just my thoughts.......
