USC, UCLA Looking to Leave Pac-12 for Big Ten in 2024
Darren Perkins replied to Kurt Rambis's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If Ducks don't get an invite to Big-10, can always go Independent in football. Oregon would the only top-tier program out west (huskies could also be if they can get it together), so to get a decent schedule power ranking for playoff purposes would need to drop out of the Pac-12. Can still play a majority of old pac-12 rivals then juice it up with sexy non-conference games. -

The Ducks with the Fuskies would be the next pair plucked away. ACC must be sweating (foot)balls, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, they'll be next to move.... we're almost there, two power conferences then everybody else. -

Would fall on deaf ears, it is all about LA. -
Two Potential Pac-12 Trap Games For the Ducks
Darren Perkins replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So true. A W against Georgia would be gravy. We SHOULD beat BYU as we have more talent and are just, well, better. While I have all the respect in the world for Eastern Washington right here in my own backyard, they don't stand a chance. They gave the Ducks a headache in 2015 only because the Oregon defense was beyond awful as the wheels of the Helfrich era were beginning to come off. That won't happen this year..... ....and oh yeah, no Cooper Kupp: "As a junior, Kupp set Autzen Stadium records of 15 catches for 246 yards against Oregon, including three TD grabs." -

Could be, but I think the Ducks (minus 2020) tend to be up for the rivalry game. Guess we'll find out more about Lanning on this one. -

I think he has done a very good job. The Beavs were at absolute rock bottom when he took over with a severe lack of talent. Will he turn into one of the great coaches nationally? Most likely not. But he will be a very good coach for the Beavers and I think he has a good shot at where Mike Riley had them in his prime years. -

Yup, the Cougs can usual rack up alot of yards, so they always have that puncher's chance. -

No doubt, we are all sighing in relief at the thought of MC not roaming the sidelines. -

Yes, it will intersting to see how the new staff performs "in-game." Ducks should be out for a little revenge against Stanford, so I'm not overly worried there, but the Chipster could finally get his W against his old team. -

Yup, can always count on the Beavs stepping up and being dangerous. I think since they are our rival, that the Ducks tend to be more guarded against let down as opposed to other teams, such as Stanford last year. -

Is Bo Nix Winning the Heisman a Total Pipe Dream?

I did stumble across this while I was checking the odds, from a couple years ago, so one never knows: "8 of the past 10 Heisman winners weren’t considered Top 10 candidates in the preseason by oddsmakers. Joe Burrow (40:1), Kyler Murray (30:1), Lamar Jackson (100:1) and Derrick Henry (25:1) represent a new wave of Heisman profitability for sports gamblers. " .. -

Always fun to see a dog doing his best goat (ie, climbing to weird places) impersonation. -
Is Bo Nix Winning the Heisman a Total Pipe Dream?

If he and the Ducks have a very good season, his name will most likely be in the mix (which is what I'm reasonably hoping for) and then if luck and other top contenders falter then who knows.... crazier things have happened. -

Yikes, we don't need Clemson rebounding, we need them to have several repeats in a row of last year. -

Nix's name did consistenly come up in the 15-25 range, so it's not like he's totally coming out of nowhere. And, I think that after the low-grade MC offense has trained us to have minimal expectations with the offense (can you image us saying the pre-MC? Crazy), but the offense will for sure be more explosive, if he can cut down on the mistakes, the Ducks win the Pac-12 (which is not a crazy thought) then his could very well be in the mix. But, yes, alot would need to go right.
