  1. Yeah, it is interesting, we have all of the 4-5* 7-footers but none of them are/were instant impact players like the Zags Chet Holmgren. So,it well be interesting to see how this team gels together as the season progresses and who begins to shine. Then, bring in possibly a lottery pick point guard next season, teamed up with these more experienced players next year, and buckle your seat belts. But, first things first, still plenty of hope for this season.
  2. Ah yes, gotta luv the tunes. Of note, and i didn't know this for the longest time, maybe some do. But, the lead singer of the band Survivor who sang "eye of the tiger" developed vocal issues shortly afterwards and was replaced. So, the lead singer for the Rocky 4 songs ( and other mid 80s hits) is a different guy. I had no idea back then!
  3. It was the first one I ever watched AND in the movie theatre. I honestly can't decide which one I like best.
  4. Thanks. I might have to try one of those!
  5. psssh... the pac-12 title is way bigger than any boxing title! ; )
  6. I would refer to Charles' article yesterday about how the Ohio State game set the tone for the season for Brown. The Ducks did beat possibly the best team in the country in their place, so you know what the top-end for the Ducks is, and it would be understandable that MC wants to continue to try to capture that magic.
  7. Yeah, I don't see us gettig swamped 38-7 again, it was just one of those nights, but if the Ducks can pull it off it would be a nail-biter.
  8. We don't need Thompson needing to learn a new system, enough of that.
  9. It is almost mind boggling at times to think how well they played at Ohio State after seeing how crummy they have also played this year. It does make it exciting.
  10. thanks, Jon. It will be (or should be) such a relief when the new TV contract gets done. There's just no way the premier team in the conference should be playing in the 7.30 slot. Sure, the networks need programming to fill that slot, and I like to be still be watching football late on Saturday, but save it for the teams in the bottom half of the conference or the Mountain West.
  11. ... some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant.
  12. And playing close games of course doesn't come without risk (Stanford), but it could be what contributes to a team peaking at the end of the season.
  13. As a team that has progressively gotten better as a whole, hopefully the next step is to improve into a team that can put teams away
  14. That's not to say they aren't playing with fire, see Stanford game. ; )
  15. The Washington game they certainly came to play and could have put out of reach earlier except for 2 back-to-back boneheaded 15-yard penalties. Gotta keep that stuff under control, an area to continue to imporve upon.
  16. Yeah, Georgia is very good, but not scary good like some previous Alabama teams. That brings hope.
  17. Peaking at the end is definitely key.
  18. Ducks are certainly battle tested. But boy would it be nice to have an easy victory this Saturday.
  19. Thanks, Charles. It was a good time. The are definitely reeling in Huskyville.
