  1. Yeah, I know it was created as a tribute. It does seem to "mellowed" in person as this picture shows. But, on tv it seems busy, I just can't get ASU out of my head. 😀
  2. Yeah, I was ok with it before, it was green.
  3. No it's there. I just finally got around to complaining 😀
  4. I'd probably be ok with it if the color was an Oregon color. (wasn't that how it was before?) But now it is this brownish-red/burgundy,/Arizona State-ish color. And the yellow is more of an ASU yellow than Oregon yellow.
  5. Belly Acher Alert!!! 😃 I know Oregon takes pride in being unique, innovative, and different.... but the basketball floor just screams of "trying too hard." And the color scheme is more Sun Devils than Ducks. Just set the trees on fire and add flames!
  6. Haha, thanks!. Unfortunatley free websites are getting less and less.
  7. Exciting times for sure. Definetly seemed like the candidate with the best recruiting chops.
  8. Good, the leverage, drama and politics aspect of it. College athletic departmens make for a good premise for a new show on HBO or Netflix.
  9. Yeah, always a risk, but i think many have hope with this one because MC has been seen as a below average game prep and X's and O'x coach. So, almost anyone would be an upgrade in this department.
  10. I could be wrong, but I would think if it didn't happen, then Mullens and/or Wilcox would have denied that it was offered and then turned down. To be honest, i find it completely believable that Mullens did offer him the job. I think the bring in an "Oregon Man" feeling had a lot of sway to it.
  11. From what i hear, Lanning is game planning for Georgia and this is it. The rest of his time is dedicated to Oregon, which i'm sure is a lot of time recruting to the Ducks and not Georgia. I'm ok with it, give a guy a chance to win it all. And it could only add to the Oregon brand and recruiting if the head coach won a natty as a DC.
  12. Thanks. Gotta move forward, not backwards.....
  13. Yeah, who knows, but obviously Canzano is deeply plugged into the Oregon Athletic Department. Though, if it is not true, I would think there would have been a statement of denial by now by Mullens and/or Wilcox. But, you never know....
  14. I give MC credit for proving that you can recruit BIG to Oregon, that's where he takes his place in history in Eugene. Without him doing so, that I think it is possible a guy like Lanning doesn't take the job because his advisors would be telling him, "lower recrutiing ceiling, you can't recruit there at a top-10 level."
  15. Yeah, is seems the players are pretty stoked. An energetic young guy with a great SEC pedigree is way more exciting and brings a way better vibe than Wilcox or Kelly would have brought. Agreed, more players would be transferring if the Ducks brought back Wilcox or Kelly.
  16. Yeah, that's the upside, if Lanning takes a job with an A+ program, then it means he really kicked some butt with the Ducks. I'll take it!
  17. Do we know the letter wasn't read by Mullens? Offering the job to Wilcox shows he did take those feelings to heart. Yes, Dabo would be a good one for Alabama.
  18. I would think if it wasn't true Mullens and Wilcox probably say something like "that didn't happen," but you never know...
  19. Ah, that's right, blanked out the Chico State years....
  20. Rebuilding from the ground up? Absolutely not. This is Oregon, not Arizona. Oregon is loaded with talent and is coming off a double digit win season. This is no 2-10 program. And again, plenty of coaches do just fine, such as Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day.
  21. You are absolutely correct. But that's not the point. The point it you CAN be successful without having head coaching experience, it doesn't make for an automatic failure. And flip it around, plenty of coaches with Head Coaching experience get a new job and stink. Just look at Chip.
  22. Lincoln Riley had no head coaching experience before he took over Oklahoma and he did ok. Ryan Day. Mel Tucker, the list goes on. Plenty of coaches make the transition just fine.
  23. Chip was a first time head coach. Ryan Day, Lincoln Riley, Gruden, what's his name at the Rams. etc etc etc ... Lots of great coaches started young and were successful first time head coaches. Some guys just have "it" .... and Mullens must think he saw that. Could it backfire? sure. But a "safe" hire would simply guarantee mediocrity. I applaud the hire.
  24. You certainly have "more than a feeling" about Chip coming back, you have a firm belief it would be the wrong move!
