  1. I understand, but my philosophy is different. I pay SO MUCH for all the equipment, all the time, all the donation and tickets, all the tech help....everything, because my Duck-Obsession is 24/7/365, and this is simply part of the life I want. I am not going to deny myself the pleasure of Oregon sports to spite a faceless company that does not care. Thirty years of Xfinity has taught me that, as in the end--I am the one losing, and not seeing Our Beloved Ducks. My love for Oregon Sports is greater than my hate for these companies...in the end. Besides, if we take that logic to its full conclusion? We should not be watching, ANYTHING, NO GAMES, because it is all through Fox, one-way-or-another, and they were the instigator who brought down the Pac-12, and who were behind last week's blackout. We should be boycotting Fox, but again, my love for Our Beloved Ducks is greater than my hate for all of these disgusting, detestable companies. That is saying something considering the stories I have about terrible Comcast service with over 30 years of dealing with them at home and at the office. It's all about the Ducks, Man...
  2. Speaking of Peacock....I just learned that the Apple Cup next week is only on Peacock. A ton of fans in the state of Washington are not going to be happy!
  3. The recruiting in this position area lags every other position group on the team. I need to see more of the season, but having Mike Cavanaugh there to assist is massive in my mind. Great O-line coach...
  4. I get it, but who doesn't like to kick Beavis when you can? Their New Logo...
  5. This makes my-world-go-round. A compliment like that is the best that I could hope for...THANK YOU. You know how when you embark into a project without knowing what the time commitment is going to be, and when you look back--you doubt you would have started had you known?! Well this one was a ton of hours, and got sidelined creating this other analysis when all the examples came up. My gut feel is that it is one of my better analysis articles over the last 13 years primarily because I am trying to answer the questions that fans have, and I had going into the project. It was worse than I thought, and that one play...the name just came out accurately as, "The Worst Blocked Play EVER," and I should have qualified it to Oregon. When people like my work, it justifies my effort. Since I no longer have a spouse...that is all I have to justify the time spent to! My sincere thanks again.
  6. I completely agree. Put players in a better angle to make the play, or don't run the play! Reach blocks are hard anyway, but when the DT is slanting away from you as you noted? Very tough...
  7. Canzano had the tidbit below that ruined my lunch before I even ate it... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oregon State Athletic Director Scott Barnes said some interesting things this week. He’s adamant that the Pac-12 was still a “Power Five” conference. He believes that college football will one day split from Olympic sports, as Chip Kelly once suggested. And Barnes thinks it would be “ridiculous” for Oregon State to stop playing the Civil War rivalry in all sports, given that the schools are only 44 miles apart. Said Barnes: “There were a lot of fans that didn’t want to play that game, but if you walk in the locker room and ask the student-athletes what they want to do — they want to play that game.” Above all, Barnes indicated that a plan was in motion. “It’s like last year or anytime we announce a schedule,” Barnes said, “we wait for all the contracts to be buttoned down and in the hopper before we make an announcement.” Yes, and about that 30 Million they are taking from Oregon over 10 Years,... ...What Does Beavis Have to Say About THAT? Mullens is SO WEAK...
  8. This could be not be understated how important this is....as it is from a DucksWire article in another thread and published this morning. Status: Questionable Reason: Knee injury Bedford returned to practice this week after missing the Idaho game, and Dan Lanning said he is optimistic the big offensive lineman will make his Duck debut.
  9. Thank you, but there is so much about football I do NOT know, but being an old offensive tackle....this was in my Wheelhouse!
  10. BTW...Canzano predicts a 42-21 Oregon win and cover!
  11. We will disagree on that, and it is fine. Keep in mind that I ran the videos in slow-motion. In game speed--Dillon had NO TIME at all to get the pass off, IMHO.
  12. Terry...we are all going to have to acknowledge that 42-6 is YOUR predicted score each time....and nobody else can use it!
  13. 1. If the guards do not come back from injury--we got problems, but the issues with the other O-Linemen are not only correctable, but they have proven themselves wonderfully over the last three years. As I wrote in my conclusion, I believe the offense will gradually return to form over the season. Enough to beat Ohio State? Too early for me to say-- 2. We were down to 3rd string at that position...
  14. My Duck-Buddies...something I forgot to add, (as it was super-late last night) is that the offensive analyst Mike Cavanaugh was a fantastic offensive line coach who is assisting A'lique Terry. I am sure he will have much more input this week, and we will see dramatic improvement.
  15. The two players who would have filled in at right guard are both recovering from injuries, so the coaches move Poncho to guard--where he played most of last season in reserve--and rolled the dice with Pickard. I can't second guess the coaches on that one, because I am not at practices--they know their personnel.
  16. My Duck-Buddies, This analysis above is one of the better and most time-consuming ones I have created over the last 13 years. While it looks long, the videos are only 15 seconds, and it is easy reading. I believe many will learn at least a little about football, as well as what went wrong. I and so many volunteers give a ton of hours of work to provide this site free of charge, and create articles like this. Would you take a minute to post the link on your Social Media? Email the link to the analysis to your friends today? It would help them going into the Boise State game, they would learn a little about Oregon football, and it would help us here be able to continue this labor-of-Duck-Love on everyone's behalf. My thanks! Charles Jordan Burch creates a game-ending interception...
  17. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus Boise State? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Lets get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon, 45-20, 2, 4, 322 Sack Attack!
  18. That is the problem...the alternatives are few, as the bench is thin.
  19. As an old offensive lineman...your suggestion, David, makes logical sense. But in practice--it can be tougher. Yes, I could play both sides, but I was better on one side, I LIKED one side, and now translating every play to the other side with different steps and timing--it is hard. Not to mention pass protection; a player simply might be better on the same side consistently, as they are accustomed to repelling the defensive line techniques. I understand they flip players around, but this may not be the solution...even if it does make sense. Tomorrow I will have my own offensive line analysis with what I see as the problems, and what we can do to overcome them.
  20. Good to get a "Blah" combination out of the way before the B1G season... (Video is only 23 seconds)
  21. Oh, it was meant to be a Red-Flag for everyone to be aware of going forward.
  22. I was kidding, but I am also a Shameless Beggar who never said he was noble. Fun stuff!
  23. That running back is for real, as he is slippery like Reuben Droughns was, powerful like LaGarrett Blount, and has break-away speed like LaMichael James. However, the Bronco defensive backs look very vulnerable...IMHO.
  24. Agreed. I may be guilty of expecting too much and too soon. Last year....Tez Johnson really did not get going until the second half of the season, and then went wild. This might apply here... My FishDuck Friends,....I will have my thoughts, screenshots and videos of the issues with our blocking on Friday. At this point, I am more blown away than the Idaho defensive linemen were...
