Keep in mind that Lanning is a master at recruiting, and uses every opportunity to enhance the brand and our profile. If he turns down Alabama because "we have something special going on in Oregon,"....a ton of recruits will want to know "what is it?" Or, we're being played? -

In another thread, TFITZ81 wrote..."Lanning had a team dinner at his house yesterday and was not in Tuscaloosa according to several players." -
At this moment, we know nothing. Is he in Alabama interviewing or not? Post here when you read something, or start a new thread.

Lanning would not be doing anything exceptional winning a 'Natty at Alabama, and in fact if he doesn't--he's gone. But at Oregon...he can do it, and be legendary among us. I believe he will stay if offered.

Yep, I don't think Oregon is green with Penix-Envy now...

Putting Lanning’s Second Year into Perspective

It is he who broke the recruiting glass ceiling at Oregon. Before he left--he had the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation. Cristobal rescued most of it, but no one had as high a recruiting ranking before or since. -

Putting Lanning’s Second Year into Perspective

This 2023 team has had a bit of bad luck, in that if this team had been playing the Oregon schedule of prior years, and those conference teams in those years....Oregon goes 13-0. This was a very good team, one that is on-par with any of Oregon's best. But we had the bad luck of having you-know-who having a once-in-a-generation year, and OBD just came up a little short. I do choose to look at the enormous progress, the team Dan built from recruiting players and coaches because what we had this season is 100% better than what Cristobal left us. That was a monumental rebuild. Lanning is now adding to that foundation, and... ...the future looks so bright that... -

Should the Traitorus/Realistic 10 Decline NCAA Invites?

As Jon's article the other day demonstrated...the schedules next year of most SEC teams is brutal, especially now that they added Texas and Oklahoma to it. "In 2024, Bama plays No. 6. Georgia and No. 9. Missouri in Tuscaloosa. Bama plays No. 12. Oklahoma (the Saturday before the Iron Bowl,) No. 13 LSU, and No.21 Tennessee on the road." "In 2024. Georgia opens with No. 22 Clemson in Atlanta, and plays on the road at No. 4 Alabama, No. 3 Texas, and No. 11 Ole Miss with a home game versus No. 21. Tennessee." So both Alabama and Georgia have five very difficult games next year, while Oregon's schedule has four or five brutal ones as well. There are no gimmies on the schedule of a Super-Conference now, so welcome to big-time college football!
