  1. Whew! Nasdaq Threatens to Delist Crucial NIL Booster's Company WWW.ACTIONNETWORK.COM The darling of the NIL era in college sports and his company LifeWallet will receive a delisting notice by the Nasdaq after trading under $1 for 30 consecutive days. John Oh no....could this impact Mario's recruiting?
  2. I think there is a number; both Canzano and Wilner believe that the new deal with be similar to the Big-12 contract of 31M+, thus if the B1G offers ten million more--is that enough to justify a change? How much more would it take to create a move for Oregon/Washington? Now that is an interesting question that has not been discussed, and only Rob Mullens really knows that number?
  3. Yep. Technically....Oregon and Washington are free-agents until a new contract with the Pac-12 is signed. This gives the B1G time to re-group and come up with an offer...
  4. Who is making life for George Kliavkoff the most difficult? The loud-mouthed Arizona AD, the Big-12 Commissioner, Dennis Dodd, or this guy throwing more gas on and trying to keep the disinformation flame going? I don't see it happening. Do you?
  5. Add to that—Oregon does not have a good history of trying to win at Tempe. (Play them November 18th) As Dilly has changed that team incredibly already and they will be jacked.
  6. So I am watching the Oregon/Call game on the livestream via the Cal Athletic department, and they had a broadcaster who was well versed in Pac-12 Baseball. (He wrote a book published this year about "Bears in the Big-Leagues" and spoke of Cal greats who had played on the field today's game was taking place on.) He expressed how he is happy Oregon brought Baseball back, as the conference is better for it. He stated that a rumor he heard, (and admitted he has no idea if it is true) that Penny Knight wanted Oregon to revive the Diamond Ducks--thus it eventually happened! Now I recognize that Pat Kilkenny and many other donors also made it happen in addition to the Knights, but perhaps she provided the impetus to get the project to first base? So, I come away with three observations of that rumor, if true: 1) I hear a ton of stuff over time, as I am quite the fan--and I've never heard this! 2) It makes me love the Knights even more, as I am an avid Oregon Baseball fan. 3) As powerful and influential as Phil is in the world? In the end he has to make his spouse happy as the rest of us men do! Happy wife, happy life! Right? If true...thank you Penny!
  7. I thought Alabama would coming for Lanning... Cristobal? What a relief!
  8. My FishDuck Friends...I can't make this stuff up. Whatever this 'Cane fan is smoking--we gave it up! Title of the Post: Saban Knows Cristobal is Coming
  9. The rumor originally was that he asked for too high of NIL income, thus why Oregon was not in the race for him when he left North Carolina.
  10. Forget it. I know it is in the headlines, and frankly--it is only a matter of time before it appears in Oregon Athletics. But it is impossible to have an opinion or discussion about the topic without it going into the political realm within two sentences. So we are not going to even touch it in this forum. If a post makes reference to the topic, or the new legislation suggested/opposed...it will be quickly deleted. (And you will be put on notice with me for potentially being banned) We all have our opinions, but a discussion in this area will create wounds that never heal. Every time in the past where a highly controversial topic that involved politics was brought up--people left the forum because of it. Yes, we had some tame discussions about COVID and the impact on Oregon Sports in the past. But I had to highly regulate it, and guess what? People left over it! I love you guys/gals, and don't want to even know your politics. It shades how we view each other when we read each other's posts later. Let's just stick to Oregon Sports...the sports themselves. The debate might seem like a good idea at first, but...
  11. Some faint praise....it would valued more if it were not from this source. Kind of like...
  12. This is a great example of how Lanning recruited the best he could--getting superb quality, but in the next years improving upon it even more. Well, that and bringing in a safety via the portal puts a freshman even lower on the roster. I feel for the coaches with all the time spent recruiting these players, the time spent coaching them--and they leave. Yet this is what building a higher quality program looks like--a Georgia model for sure. Still, it makes me wince.
  13. The fact they have the Ducks ahead of the Huskies will infuriate many in purple...
  14. An Oregon great, important to remember in a new era of defense at Oregon...RIP.
  15. Are these valid rankings? There is been much written about how schools game the system, and many more reasons for pause.
  16. A punch in the gut. They really got to the good relievers we have, and blew up Mollerus like never before.
  17. As I've said before.... Mario did not know what he was playing with.
  18. Over time, there are many narratives that are forgotten or invented about a game eight years ago. One benefit to having this site and doing some analysis myself, (and still having my marbles) is being able to pull up what really happened in a game. The play below was perfectly schemed for our defense, and a close game in the first half--got ugly by the end of the game because of it. And that bastard Urban Meyer purposely held back this play until the second half as he knew we were good at halftime adjustments. This is an example of fantastic play-scheme planning, and superb in-game tactics along with play-calling of which beat a good Oregon team. A prime example of how "plays" makes the difference over "players." An Ohio State Dagger to Oregon: The Counter Play FISHDUCK.COM This is an analysis of the Counter play that Ohio State used to defeat Oregon with in the college National Championship game. BTW...above is one of the most read articles in the 6,000 article history of FishDuck between Oregon fans, but in particular Ohio State fans lapped it up. I was fair in my analysis, and they appreciated that and opportunity to learn.
  19. Make that three, IMHO. What has been done in Salt Lake City with underwhelming recruiting classes is also amazing. We have a ton of great coaches in the Pac-12...
  20. I enjoyed the article, but this is one time I disagree with my friend and writing colleague. He beat me to writing about this topic, but it turns out we have a different perspective on it--good. I'll give my take on this quote and a few other questionable lines by Coach Stein when my writing turn comes up next time on the schedule. This is a good topic to debate--love it and thanks David!
  21. I hope so as well, because Oregon had 44 players who were 4/5-Stars at the time, and Fresno had ONE. That is damn good coaching... (Makes me want to hurl writing that)
  22. And Oregon is No. 6 in the nation for Strength-of-Schedule, and No. 14 in RPI! If the Ducks can keep this up--hosting an NCAA Regional is possible. More about how our schedule matches up with the other conference contenders later in the week... Ceballos, Stoffal Earn Weekly Honors EUGENE, Ore. – Following a 4-1 week and a series win over No. 7 Stanford, Sabin Ceballos and Jace Stoffal both claimed weekly awards on Monday. Ceballos (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico / Puerto Rico Baseball HS Academy / San Jacinto CC) is one of Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week, while Stoffal (Roseburg, Ore. / Roseburg HS / Umpqua CC) claimed his second consecutive Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honor. Stoffal picked up the honor after tossing a complete game shutout against the Cardinal, who entered the weekend as the Pac-12’s top scoring team, on Friday. Stoffal allowed just three hits in the outing while matching a career high with nine strikeouts. After allowing a leadoff single, the junior right-hander proceeded to retire the next 13 batters he faced before allowing a single and a walk in the fifth. Stoffal pitched out of the one-out jam that inning and then put down the next 11 batters in order before giving up a leadoff single in the ninth. He retired the final three batters in the ninth, the final two on strikeouts. Stoffal joins a small group of Pac-12 pitchers who have claimed back-to-back weekly honors. He is the 30th pitcher to go back-to-back on the award since 1986 and just the second Ducks’ pitcher (Alex Keudell – 2012). Two pitchers have won the honor four consecutive weeks (Sean Rees – Arizona State – 1990; Tim Lincicome – Washington – 2006) and three have won it back-to-back-to-back weeks (Alex Sanchez – UCLA – 1986; Travis Willis – California – 1989; Trevor Bauer – UCLA – 2011). Ceballos earned the Collegiate Baseball national honor after leading the Ducks to two midweek wins over San Francisco and a series win over Stanford. In five games, the Ducks’ third baseman batted .368 (7-for-19) with three home runs, a triple, 11 RBI and four runs scored. He reached base at a .429 clip while slugging .947. Ceballos also played flawless defense at third, handling 14 chances without an error. In the Stanford series, he led the team batting .417 (5-for-12) with two home runs, a triple, six RBI and three runs scored. He slugged 1.083 against the Cardinal and had a 1.500 OPS. Against San Francisco, Ceballos belted a home run and had five RBI in two games. 23. The article link will not publish an article box in a forum post, but you can go to it this way. Pretty sparse article, with not a lot of analysis, but I think he makes some good points and is fair. Some think Washington got some lucky breaks this year to get to 11 wins....like not playing USC or Utah. And only because Smith at OSU eschewed the Field Goal, and our OC called a boneheaded play to injure our star QB did UW beat the Oregon teams. DeBoer's experience did prevail in those, but for how long? And the Huskies being No. 24 in 2023 for recruiting, and No. 59 thus far in 2024 is not going to cut it long term, IMHO. Your thoughts?
  24. I do think the recruitment of Roderick Pleasant and Daylen Austin may have had an impact too. Throw in Cole Martin and the current group--it is a tough group to break through. Daylen Austin
  25. There were a number of games where he dominated this last year, and I cannot imagine his intensity won't be at a much higher level this year. Dana's most important "recruit" for one year? Whew! Oregon fans after his announcement...
