  1. Press Release from Oregon Athletics SALT LAKE CITY — Oregon led by double-digits most of the contest, but Utah battled back to make it a close one. The Ducks were able to pull off the road win in the final seconds, defeating the Utes 80-77. How It Happened: Utah scored the first nine points of the game behind three three-pointers. The Ducks started to find their stride and went on a 13-2 run midway through the half. Oregon got in their own way after the run, turning the ball over on three-straight possessions to let Utah close it to a 33-24 Oregon lead with four minutes to play in the half. UO got back on track and closed out the half outscoring Utah 43-22 after the early Utes lead. Oregon came out flat in the second half, letting Utah get good looks with slow defensive rotations. At the 15:52 mark, Utah had cut the lead to nine, 48-39. The trend continued, as Utah cut the lead to four points at the 10-minute mark. The Ducks immediately went on a run after a pair of threes from Quincy Guerrier and Will Richardson. Richardson’s triple put him at 22 points on the night. After pushing the lead back to double-digits, Utah was within five points with 1:17 to play. Utah forced a turnover and made it a one-point Oregon lead with 20 seconds left. The Ducks converted a long inbound pass and got a breakaway layup from Jacob Young to clinch the victory. Who Stood Out: Richardson led the team with 25 points, while Young scored 14. Eric Williams Jr. came up huge on the boards with 10 rebounds and seven points. What It Means: The Ducks move to 15-7 and 8-3 in the conference. Oregon has now won nine games in a row against Utah. Up Next: Oregon is back home next weekend as hosts to Stanford on Thursday, Feb. 10 (6 p.m. PT) and Cal on Saturday, Feb. 12 (1 p.m. PT).

  3. Now THAT is a World-Class Husky rant, and just warms my heart. Gosh I love this community!
  4. I really hate shifting from one channel to another when I'm trying to record it!
  5. Go right here for previous articles about the rivalry with the Huskies and many of the 22 articles have the history within. Just writing the "H" word makes me want to turn and spit...
  6. The grading system would also have to take into account what you have lost with transfers out, like how do you measure Travis Dye?
  7. We need a television broadcast in addition to the games being streaming, as online only would leave a ton of people out who do not have a more recent TV or don't know how to operate that part of it. (You would be VERY surprised at the computer literacy, or lack of it out there.)
  8. I am wondering about injury to Sedona, as she has looked....slow at times? Guards quickly turn the corner on her and get the foul...
  9. From the biggest Husky site: Honest Analysis by a Husky "This class is riddled with question marks and is seriously under performing what Chris Petersen brought in, or Sark for the matter. As a whole I don't usually look at the class rankings in the context they're posted because your right size of the class isn't as important as the quality. That said this class falls way below threshold required to compete for national championships or even conference titles. For crying out loud by average star rating this class is worse that Oregon State." "Myself, I'm worried but am willing to wait and see before forming a final opinion on the matter. There are a lot of unknowns with the new staff, such as how well they teach, mentor and develop young talent. I was hoping they would alleviate my concerns regarding their ability to recruit at a top 20 level but unfortunately they failed to do that with this class." Now the Spin: "That doesn't mean this class isn't what the doctor ordered for UW. The fact these guys are all lower rated means they're likely hard working and will buy into what Coach is saying a lot quicker since he gave them a chance. Culture is a huge part of what makes a team and this foundation could jump start getting that back on track. Also it doesn't mean these gentlemen can't be serious contributors. A solid foundation is always needed and these guys seem like they'll make a solid core as long as the majority aren't busts."
  10. And thanks to McDuck for finding and posting this article. Thanks to EVERYONE that posts articles!
  11. I am in agreement except for offensive innovation; we don't have to create something, but return to what we once owned...
  12. Could the Ducks bait the Wildcats into silly fouls because they are so fired up? Should Graves accelerate the intensity by stomping and yelling? No cussing, but getting the Arizona team out of their head? Or would this fuel them with anger and hurt Oregon? Some interesting tactical items to address that if played correctly--could help the Ducks?
  13. Former Mario assistant coach Bryan McClendon is now at Georgia, and he is telling receiver recruits to avoid Miami because "he runs the ball a lot." And McClendon should know! Cane fans are not happy, but is it the truth? (There is NO DOUBT in my mind that there would have been a big exodus of receivers out of Oregon right now had Mario stayed at Oregon)
  14. Press Release from Oregon Athletics BOULDER, Colo. — Oregon finished with a season-best 12 steals and outscored Colorado 30-16 in the second half to give the Ducks a 66-51 road win. How It Happened: Oregon struggled early and finished the first half at 38 percent shooting from the field. Turnovers and sloppy play got the Ducks behind as many as eight points in the half, with seven turnovers creating momentum and easy baskets for the Buffaloes. Jacob Young kept Oregon within striking distance, scoring 16 points in the first, connecting on six-of-nine field goals. The Ducks looked to be heading into the break down a basket, but after a Quincy Guerrier offensive rebound, Young hit a three-pointer at the top of the key to give Oregon a one-point lead at the break. "I thought we finished the half well and started the second half okay," said head coach Dana Altman. "I thought it was important to have that little push there. You don't want to go in down five or seven and have to battle back all second half. I thought it gave us a little bounce." Oregon's second half got out to a positive start, creating easy baskets, and scoring in transition. By the 11:55 mark in the second, the Ducks had built a 49-43 lead. The positives would continue for the Ducks, who would go on a 9-0 run to push the lead to 11 points, a lead they would not relinquish. The half proved to be a dominate one for Oregon, who outscored Colorado 30-16. It was the first road win for the Ducks in series history. "I don't get too high after a win or too low after a loss," said Altman. "When we've gotten beat here, the next thing we're thinking about was that we have to go beat Utah. It's been written but I haven't thought that much about it. I think the biggest thing is we have to move on." Who Stood Out: Young led the team with 21 points and the Ducks improved to 4-0 when Young is the leading scorer. Will Richardson finished with a season-high five steals, one shy of his career-best. De'Vion Harmon also tied his season-high with three thefts. Up Next: The Ducks continue the mountain road trip in Salt Lake City, taking on Utah on Saturday (5:30 p.m. PT, FS1).
  15. I am pretty stoked to have heard this in the interview on Wednesday, and fun to read about it and more. It is a deceptive title, but there are good points to consider. Dan Lanning Fully Expects to Continue Oregon's History of Offensive Innovations by Don Smalley of Ducks Wire
  16. He makes some good points, but to get the grade he gave--we needed a boatload more 4 and 5-Star players than what we signed, IMHO. Agree? Oregon Football: Grading Dan Lanning’s 2022 Recruiting Class by Connor Muldownery of Autzen Zoo
  17. So Adia Barnes is portrayed as the "good-guy" here, and Graves is the bad guy? Is it going to even be safe for Coach Graves to be there? He will be considered "against" women? This is not good...
  18. Hey VM3...great to have you on-board, and do post often. WELCOME!
  19. No...we don't need the Huskies to be good for something like 15 years to even up the rivalry numbers. For now...I would like the Ducks to be the PNW champions...and the hated rival of USC in the national eye.
  20. Life is good, the world is in order again and the OBD forum exhales its relief at our own CalBear95 returning. I don't know how anyone could write it better...what we all feel. I think we are going to owe Rob Mullens in a BIG way before this is over, as I cannot believe the gap he has created versus nearly all the conference already. Whether we win a 'Natty with him or not....we as fans will get to see a TON of WINNING at Oregon!
  21. The Huskies were out-recruited by... New Mexico Kent State Central Michigan Georgia Southern It's Gotta Hurt...
  22. Wowsa. I don't have the article--from another site... “The Huskies have crossed their collective fingers that Kalen DeBoer’s first recruiting class is sneaky-good. We’ll believe it when we see it, frankly. For now, UW’s recruiting class doesn’t appear good enough — not nearly good enough — to support future success. Nor does it compare in quality to those of USC and Oregon, which also underwent coaching changes. In our view, the Huskies have a damaged brand, both within Washington and across the Pac-12 footprint. The speed of the salvage operation will determine the success of the DeBoer era once it matures in Years Three and Four“ "I'll just give that pooch from Oregon a nudge...
  23. A very talented 360 pound 3-Star....again you can find guys that big, but strong, athletic and quick? Georgia is in the middle of the prime recruiting ground for D-Linemen, and it is quick and easy to get there in the Southeast. Levitt wanted to run a true 3-4 defense, but could not get the Nose Tackle out of the South he needed. He tried, and we were close...
