  1. Lanning is creating something special here and Dilly can see it. At only age 32...it would behoove him to stick around at least two years to truly soak in how to run a program. And you never know--if the NFL comes calling for Lanning, (and I believe it will once he finishes the job here) who would be first in line to succeed Lanning? Dilly. But this all depends upon a ton of winning first, so since we have learned from the CK years that these things don't last forever...I am going to enjoy this while I can.
  2. Good gosh, did we dodge a program-destroying bullet! The mood is much different in Eugene!
  3. There are so many things going well, so many I did not anticipate...whew! Gotta count my blessings!
  4. I felt coming into this season that witnessing the Lanning team might flip a player or two verballed to other schools. I've gotta think that any offensive lineman would want what Oregon/Klemm is selling, as an old offensive lineman--I would love this offense! (And the coaching) Right now, Dillingham is selling results to recruits, while Lupoi is selling hope. Lanning has coached a championship defense, and is building one here--a project in the making. I would like to think we will flip at least one recruit verballed elsewhere, and I'd love it to be an offensive lineman. For those who follow recruiting...any others you love to see come to Oregon that are currently verballed elsewhere? A proud offensive line, and rightly so!
  5. If he was not on offense, he would have the perfect statue for low leverage as a Nose Tackle on defense. And he is a 4-Star with Rivals! Beat out Florida, Miami and Tennessee for him. (In spite of NIL and you-know-who)
  6. I don't think evolution will happen that fast, but his offense may trend that way! Is this below related to the dinosaur concerns?
  7. Amen. Another one of him (below) is my screensaver on one computer--I so love what is happening for him.
  8. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Hee-Hee
  9. I like that, as “The Kick” signifies a new era for Oregon football! Right?
  10. I am not going to think about other teams right now, but enjoy Our Beloved Ducks. If the Big House was that cool....why is the (arguably) nations best HS QB coming from Michigan to Oregon?
  11. As I wrote in another thread....Dilly has only been here seven games and we're discussing his departure? I am going to savor this special time, and enjoy the scoring and not worry about the negative until it actually comes...if it even does.
  12. The lesson did not need to be that bad, but it sure helped a young team to see what a great one is--and by contrast our "tough" games in the Pac-12 are nothing like the Bulldogs. I agree with you. And CalBear95...this is your week?
  13. He's only been here seven games; I won't write him off so quickly, and at minimum....I am going to savor this while I can and not focus on the negative.
  14. You have been close a couple of times, and it will happen! We need to get some sponsors to donate some cool Duck-Swag prizes...
  15. Before we call for cheating in the contest, remember that Yours-Truly has never won, and there are no prizes. (Darn!) Actual: Oregon wins 45-30, one turnover, zero sacks and 283 yards of passing. Mr. FishDuck: 45-27, 2, 3, 303 45-45=0 Differential, 30-27=3 Total Differential of 3 Log Haulin: 45-33, 2, 4, 312 45-45=0 Differential, 33-30=3 Total Differential of 3 A tie! Tiebreakers: Turnovers: Actual: one turnover by Oregon, Mr. FishDuck: 2, Log Haulin: 2 Both off by one differential! Still tied... Sacks by Oregon: Actual: 0, Mr. FishDuck: 3, Log Haulin: 4, and thus Mr. FishDuck has a differential lead of one going into the final tiebreaker... Passing Yards by Oregon: Actual: 283, Mr. FishDuck 303, Log Haulin: 312 Mr. FishDuck wins this tiebreaker being the closest, thus winning two of three tiebreakers. I cannot help but say.... I gotta say that we had some that were really, really close... Wounded Knees: Total Differential of 4 Big Dog: Total Differential of 4 Thanks for playing, and thanks to Dr Hilarius for the more accurate scoring system. It sure makes it interesting! Now if anyone ever wants to chip in for prizes... 😉
  16. I love the article Jordan, and the awesome photos by Eugene Johnson! And I love this quote from what you wrote... "What does that mean? Nix has better protection than a U.S. President." Patrick Herbert with a catch!
  17. Not to me, as they simply do not have the offense that outscores us even if their defense does hold us down a bit. I was really concerned about Washington State, and rightly so. We were lucky to escape!
  18. His weakness was catching the ball out of the backfield, but Bucky seems to have solved that!
  19. No, but it was pretty darned important and helped to change a very important game. Damn these guys are gutsy! Whew!
  20. I know...I got a thing with alliteration. --Fourth largest Autzen crowd ever at 59,962? I did not know it could go to almost 60,000! --17th straight conference win at home, a program record. --Tied the program record for 23 straight wins at home among all games. --Sole leader of the Pac-12 with no losses. --Rushed for over 200 yards for 5th time this season. --Did not allow a sack versus the Bruins. --Bruins led the Pac-12 for rushing defense...until this game! --Bruins only had SEVEN possessions the entire game? Whew! --Bo Nix had an incredible day with five touchdown passes. --Oregon held UCLA to their lowest point output all season. --You want offensive balance? 283 passing and 273 on the ground. Whew! --Cam Lewis is a perfect eight-for-eight this season in field goals. This team is not perfect, but there are a ton of things going right.
  21. It sure feels that way on offense with such a big victory, and the way it was done. Coach Dillingham wanted an efficient offense this season, and boy we are seeing it. A punter boycott?
  22. There are those who do not want to see anymore of Cristobal, and my advice is...don't open the thread and read it! I will continue to allow it because... 1) It is fun. 2) It is entertaining. 3) It makes us grateful-as-hell he is no longer here!
  23. Great game day thread, and now let’s start up new threads of discussion… Thanks
  24. Some items to watch for in this game? Read my article published this morning for three tasty tidbits to keep an eye out for... Will Dillingham Surprise UCLA...With a Chip Kelly Play? FISHDUCK.COM There are some interesting items to watch for in this game today against UCLA, as if there was not enough drama associated with this Pac-12 showdown.
