OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2025 OREGON FOOTBALL | @oregonfootball EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon football team moved up one spot to No. 8 in the second release of the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday. The Ducks (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten) are coming off a thrilling road win over Iowa, which was No. 20 in the committee's initial rankings last week and moved down just one spot to No. 21 this week. Oregon is one of three Big Ten teams in the top 10, along with No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana. The conference has six teams in the top 25 including No. 17 USC, No. 18 Michigan and No. 21 Iowa. The Ducks will host USC next Saturday, Nov. 22, following a showdown with Minnesota this Friday, Nov. 14, in Autzen Stadium (6:00 p.m. PT, FOX). The Ducks have now made 13 consecutive appearances in the CFP top 10 dating back to 2023, and 26 straight appearances in the CFP top 25 dating back to 2020. Oregon has again established itself as one of the most well-rounded teams in the nation, entering Week 12 as one of just three FBS teams in the top 15 for scoring offense (T-9th, 38.7 PPG), total offense (13th, 471.6 YPG), scoring defense (6th, 13.8 PPG) and total defense (3rd, 239.3 YPG). Additionally, UO owns the nation's top passing defense at 126.1 yards allowed per game, and ranks sixth in rushing offense at 239.67 yards per game. The Ducks have also been one of the nation's top teams in terms of explosive plays on both sides of the ball, leading the country in fewest plays of 20-plus yards allowed (15) while ranking second in offensive plays of 20-plus yards (66). Oregon's overall team grade of 93.6 by Pro Football Focus is fifth-best nationally and third-best in the Big Ten. Is Oregon Physical Enough for the B1G?
"We may sport a 'B1G' badge on our uniforms, but make no mistake, we are interlopers in this conference and we are not welcome here." The officiating highlighted the above quote from your article. Inviting Oregon to the conference would help everyone's bottom line, (most important) and the Ducks would be an entertaining new complement to the B1G. Oregon was assumed to simply be a shiny new object, a novelty to the conference. Then the Ducks go and win the conference in football, win the most Big-10 championships in all sports over the Blue-Bloods in 2024...our first year? NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. A flood of delayed reactions are being directed at Oregon, from the other conference members, and...

Oregon Not Championship Caliber?
Well, we just blew up the "Oregon isn't physical enough for the Big-10" nonsense, so they have to move to a new denigrating narrative.

Too much to take notes of...enjoy! Wow...near the 16:20 spot....Waz explains that SEC teams should be Oregon fans....such they like to "DUCK" us. SEC teams do not want to play Oregon on the nonconference schedule! Even if we go to their house!

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
I certainly don't think we were sandbagging during the Iowa game; with three top receivers lost....we were fighting to win a game, IMHO.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
Some interesting discussion by John Canzano and Oregon fans.... Q: Is it possible that Lanning’s team is pacing itself? Is that the secret buried in the flow of this season? A: I spoke with offensive coordinator Will Stein a few weeks ago. Something he said in our conversation stood out. Stein mentioned watching Ohio State play its best football in December and January. We talked about the art and science of that run. I wondered if UO’s plan this season was to slowly rise to meet the challenges and moments each week, but keep its cleats on the turf for when it counts. Q: Do you think the Ducks are sandbagging games to disguise, disrupt, and obfuscate future game opponent strategies? A: There’s no “sandbagging” going on. But I do think Oregon is pacing itself better this season. The substitution patterns with the defensive backs caught my eye earlier this season. You can tell UO’s coaches are playing more players, looking to distribute the snaps, and trying to build toward playing their best football in December and January. It’s what Ohio State did last season.

Canzano: Implosion of Pac-12 Working for Nobody -- except Oregon Ducks
And none of the finger-pointing is at the prior athletic ADs at OSU and WSU who did not build their brand, and in fact were massively overpaid in their revenue share when looking at what they brought to the conference.
