  1. I can tell you that they all were from different people on the Husky board, and I'm assuming that the defamation is the re-working of my nickname? I assumed it was in jest...
  2. Omigosh...what an awful name..."FishDog," and I just shudder writing it. Somebody told me I needed to create one of these forums for each of the Pac-12 schools, and I would have to be on each as FishBruin, FishBear, FishCat, FishBuff, etc. When we got to Washington I said, "that's a deal-breaker." Well that, and I did not know what I was going to do with Oregon State...
  3. Truly...as I read that last line I was taking a sip of water and just about blew it out my nose. I enjoyed the first part as, I am Catholic too and have no interest in the 'Domers, but the last part got to me...big. After taking a big gulp, and wiping my nasal area...I admit to liking the last four words....but I shouldn't. (But I do!) There so many out there in the community like you, and I'm glad all of you found this forum. Such fun reading your posts, and that last one was a dandy.
  4. My friends, I cannot make up the irrational behavior of the Huskies below who actually wrote such nonsense on a major Washington forum. The topic is about Justin Wilcox turning down Oregon...?? --"I have admired Justin Wilcox since he coached at the UW. I always thought he was a standup person. I admire him even more after reading the article on his turning down the Oregon head coaching job. I have never thought that Oregon's athletic department had any ethics in any of their athletic programs. Now I am even more firmly entrenched in that belief. Wilcox stood up for what he thought, and is, the right way in how to recruit and be a successful program. Oregon's win at all costs attitude is now even more exposed and should be used against them as much as possible. I know that the NCAA is toothless and cannot enforce any punishments, and it is highly unlikely that anyone would go after Oregon since they are a Nike backed program and Nike is a very important money provided to many of the NCAA programs. But bringing to light every illegal act that they do would bring immense harm to the reputation that they are trying to purchase." --"UNike is essentially the definition of a "win at all costs" school at present, there is no real question about that. Wilcox had to know it, but he saw the reality very dramatically in the specific conditions that were associated with UNike's offer to him to be the head football coach. He had to hire certain assistant coaches with known histories of payola and he had to agree to employ certain recruiting "tactics". I am pretty certain there were other conditions as well. Since Wilcox actually has ethics and integrity he turned UNike-Knight down." --"Wilcox is pretty great… For the life of me, I could not figure out all the vitriol on this board, in regards to Wilcox, during the UW coaching search…." --"One problem…. Wilcox has ethics. Go figure." These days are DAWG-GONE...
  5. You are welcome to go to GoDucks.com, and go to football, and then look for "Archives" at the top. You can then look up game-by-game, and it would be great to hear what you come up with!
  6. Agreed Haywarduck, because if Scott Frost did not have the strength to pull him back from attacking the crowd, Blount may very well have ended up in jail, and not the NFL! And I do not blame Chip for feeling the way he did, because at that time did not want Blount to return to the team or even fly home on the same airplane! Over on another pay site, I was pummeled with over 50 different insults for posting that opinion a dozen years ago. Blount should count his blessings that it turned out as good as it did considering what he did, and what he wanted to do. Chip had more forgiveness in his soul at that moment than I did! I did not want to see Oregon football represented nationally by that image of Blount…
  7. I love this article for one obvious reason, and that is that 80 plays as a goal, is as symbolic of returning to the brand, as is the scoring that will come from it. The second observation is more of what is hidden in his well researched article, and that is that holding teams to 21 points per game can be a winner at Oregon if the offense is scoring at high levels. Holding teams to a 12 or 14 point average per game is kind of unrealistic at Oregon, as we will simply not have Georgia or Alabama talent on Defense. But increasing the scoring quite a bit and holding opponents to 21 points? That IS something Oregon can do, and get into the playoffs eventually with it. And as the return to the Oregon brand continues, the recruiting of SPEED will escalate. Great article, David!
  8. I normally don't post "visit" recruiting articles, but it is slow and this is an area of need to achieve Coach Lanning's vision. 5-star DL Lebbeus Overton, Top Unsigned Defensive Player in 2022, Locks in Visit to Oregon Ducks by Zachary Neel of YahooSports Boy.....this guy can sure shed blocks quickly and get to the quarterback--even from a DT position!
  9. I salute you, as it is the hardest game in the world. If you don't believe me--ask Jon! BTW...the Oregon Womens Golf team is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation and has won two big tournaments. Haven't seen that before...
  10. Ducks up 3-0 after two innings and the freshman pitcher for Oregon, Tommy Brandenberg, is looking very impressive.
  11. Belay all of that DVR stuff from before, as the game is starting on the Pac 12 network at 2 o’clock even though the schedule says different. It has a happy error! Oregon has been striking big in early innings, so this first half hour being missed is not cool. Got to love our own network! Look....St. Johns is not a good team, but this is a tremendous "get-right" weekend for Oregon, as new players got their confidence and Coach Waz is able to try players at other positions and batting order spots. It gives us a chance to get acquainted with the team, AND see a ton more hitting with players that are taught to be aggressive coupled with a new "hitting-friendly" confines of PK Park. You will rarely see a bunt with this team!
  12. And I think both are going to be tough. We were fortunate to hit the shots at the end when playing the Cougs, and they were very athletic. And Washington has been beating a ton of teams, and is much better than when we played them last time. It is hard to beat a decent team on their home floor that is fired up when you slaughtered them before... And if we lose one or both....the only way to the tournament is an improbably Pac-12 Tournament Championship, IMHO.
  13. You might re-think that one...as fishing gear for 85 players could be quite a cost...
  14. Agree. With the boatloads of money the NFL makes, it would hardly be considered Marxist with their financial results that benefit the owners, coaches and players.
  15. Jordan...that is a fun read! Highly informative and entertaining as heck--and you certainly make some good points. Anytime you blend the Ducks, Joe Lunardi and Bill Walton...it has to be good!
  16. Whoa! 13-1 is the final score.
  17. Ducks pitcher Isaac Ayon has been superb. Six innings with only four hits and one run allowed. These young men HIT the ball, and this is not small ball!
  18. I just read that the Chargers were one of the four teams who could benefit the most in the off-season. They have 56 million in cap-space available and a ton of needs on defense. They were tied for 29th worst defense in the NFL, (Out of 32 teams? Not many were worse!) as they gave up 27 points a game...and that's in the NFL game, not college. They lost SO MANY close games that lowering that number to 20 points could have them winning big? I know very little about the Pro game...anyone know more and can offer some thoughts?
  19. Wow, what a great story from your life. Whew! The conclusion of your story is similar to many of mine and that is, in the end, their misbehavior ends up being MY fault. Yours was so much more serious, but the concept and the mindset is the same. I guess we cannot change human nature! Thanks for feedback…
  20. I do appreciate all that everyone has written, and if you have any solutions to the mystery as to how to deal with those who say, "I did not know the rules," I would be grateful for that feedback. I wrote about it in the opening post of this thread, and...I'm not sure how to contend with it. I cannot let them off, yet if they ignored the rules or quickly signed up and posted without looking... ...I would appear to be, as they said in "Calvin," as an over-bearing bore who thinks he is the Supreme Ruler, the Great Grandiose Dictator-for-Life. (That is kinda catchy) But it all begins with them, and they don't see it. My management style is friendly, but firm on the things that matter. Oh well... Did Somebody call me?
  21. You are very kind, and you summarize what I am trying to achieve. To see that sentence above....makes my heart sing, because YOU are the type of person I wish to have as members on this forum. With hope, the word will get out for the reasonable people to congregate here and have even bigger discussions about Our Beloved Ducks. My sincere thanks for you taking the time to write.
  22. Ducks win 16 to 3, and have scored 60 runs in the past three games to go to 3-3 on the season. At 2 o’clock start tomorrow at PK park or live stream!
  23. The Ducks had two home-runs one being a three run bomb to lead five to nothing after the first inning! At goducks.com, you can watch it live stream, and bring your popcorn! 5-0! 11-0 after two innings! 12-3 after seven innings. Andrew Mosiello pitched five innings and go the win, while RJ Gordon had an excellent four innings to finish it off.
  24. There two posts by Jester and Axel back-to-back....aren't these in the running for the best concurrent posts EVER? Whew! What great stories and so well written... THANK YOU Gentlemen! Revenge is SWEET though...
