  1. Just the way they drew it up! Incredible, and THANKS to Steven for posting this!
  2. As one Duck-Buddy told me the other day...."let me get this right....he can throw a tantrum at the officials for an extended period on Saturday, but the fans who pay his salary cannot let their displeasure with his decisions be known?" We are not supposed to go to the "booing" topic anymore...but the irony is striking.
  3. I know "homesickness" is real, as I experienced it as a youth. Yet the visual in my mind of a massive 5-Star TrenchMonster effectively saying...."I want my Momma" is amusing.
  4. This only impacts a small percentage of you--and for those of you who have been adding "Reading Spaces" all along--thank you!
  5. The forum Analytics tell me which posts are read the most....or not at all. One fact that is evident from the analytics is that if the content written in a post that does not have "Reading Spaces" inserted every couple of sentences, then it is too hard for people focus and concentrate on it, so they will not read the post. Below are examples no. 1 and no. 2 of continuous text or content that people will just bypass reading, as it takes too much work. (Attention spans on the web are very short) Fixing them only takes 5-10 seconds, and I ask you to do it for two reasons: 1) this way your post will be read, and 2) this forum is based upon courtesy toward others and this makes it easier for people to read. Be considerate to others and make sure your posts are read! Example no. 3 below is the fixed final result that only took seconds to implement. Instructions: Note the difference between the first two examples below because in example no. 1--the poster needs to hit the "enter" or "return" key on the keyboard twice after a block of text. In the second example the writer knew to hit "enter" or "return" once after a block of text, but needed to hit it a second time. Look at the image below them of a created post, and do know that after you have created your post, you have up to an hour afterward to edit it. So after you have created your post--go to the three dots (ellipses) in the right corner of your post (red arrow) and click on them. Then click on "edit" in the drop-down menu, (green arrow) and a new window with your post will appear. Then put your cursor after a block of text (yellow arrows) and hit the "enter" or "return" key either once or twice (depending upon which example below your post is similar to) to create the reading spaces. Click on "Save" at the bottom of this post being edited and you are done! Easy-Peasy! Always...after you have posted a new topic thread, or submitted a reply in a thread--check your post! Note this is not about "paragraph" spaces or punctuation, but making it easier for readers so they will read your post for certain. Example 1: I cannot recall such a different vibe that I receive from Oregon fans going into this Cal game, as it is so unusual coming out of a bye week. Fans hope to see the team that played so well at Columbus, but are fearful of seeing the Ducks play down to their opponent. Cal is likely the weakest opponent remaining on the schedule, thus it is crucial to get the confidence back and a good groove on both sides of the ball before the remaining Pac-12 schedule. The fans and the pollsters desperately want a big Oregon victory, but that was expected last year as well versus the Golden Bears and it did not come to pass. For some of us fans, we believe that the mental preparation of the football team has been lacking. If there was ever a game to get the mojo back--this is it. This is your GameDay thread and while I do want you to share your thoughts and feelings before, during and after the game--let's work at keep from venting on each other if things are not going well. Pointing out the negative is fine here, but let's not do continuous venting as I saw a time or two in the last week. Again, sharing your feelings--even when they are negative about the team--is welcome. (Because I learn so much from all of you!) 6. Joshua! That is a wonderful analysis as you did not just explain two plays to us, (tunnel screen and QB Counter) but why they worked. It is so fun as a fan to see the "why" of it all, and to take what you have taught us and apply it to future games. Really an outstanding analysis from the perspective of making it easy for fans to understand, and yet so informative. Thanks so much!
  7. Good stuff, and thanks for finding and posting it!
  8. Jon....you are a great source of information. You brought this up many times before, but I forgot. I don't think MC has proven himself enough for LSU, and I agree with you--doubt Miami can buy him out. And if Cristobal is annoyed at a few fans booing at Autzen? Imagine how he would handle the ruthless fans of Death Valley? Whew! And he WON a 'Natty!
  9. Agreed. I want him to stay, but get better as a coach. He's our only chance at a 'Natty....
  10. Nope. I would never ban anyone without cause and discussion. This is all on me, and I apologize to all for the confusion.
  11. It could not happen to a better bunch of fans, although I must admit the prediction game is pretty tough!
  12. Does it show up on pads? (Let me know!) I know it does on desktops, and I am assuming on laptops as well. It does NOT on mobile. The background picture for the forum is a second after DJ James intercepts the ball and is running down the sideline. The camera is focused on DJ, but nearby in the background is Chip Kelly and I thought it was sweet. (The picture is also below) What would the caption be? P.S. The cost of getting pictures for this one game alone was $150.00 yet that did not pay the photographer's expense to be there. Such great pictures...
  13. Nope, as I politely disagree with my esteemed Moderator colleagues. The real test is the final three of WSU, Utah and Oregon State, IMHO.
  14. I will admit that although I think the Ducks could lose yet, I am pretty surprised at the figure given to win-out the season by computers/software at ESPN. Whew! 15. It is an interesting review of the Miami situation, and beating No. 18 North Carolina State helped the cause for Diaz, but he has a losing record. Should Mario Cristobal Stay Or Leave Oregon? by Kerry Kauffman of Oregon Sports News
  16. They said he is still "iffy" while a ton of other players will be fine for Saturday.
  17. I have two web developers; one here in the US for FishDuck, and the other is in England, and he is a specialist in this OBD forum software. I was fortunate to find this problem in the morning for us, which is evening for him in Sheffield UK...had it gone longer...
  18. With 4.5 TFLs in one game, a big one? No surprise, and deserved! Good Gosh the Ducks are cleaning up on awards! (Press Release from Oregon Athletics) EUGENE, Ore. — A day after sweeping a pair of Pac-12 weekly honors, Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux has been named the Bednarik Award National Player of the Week. Playing his first full game of the season, Thibodeaux was a dominant force for the Ducks in last Saturday’s 34-31 win at UCLA with a career-high nine tackles (eight solo) and 4.5 tackles for loss, including two sacks and a forced fumble. Thibodeaux is the third Oregon defender to earn national player of the week honors this season. Verone McKinley III was the Bronko Nagurski National Player of the Week following Oregon’s win at Ohio State, and Bennett Williams was the Walter Camp National FBS Player of the Week and the Jim Thorpe Player of the Week after the Ducks’ win over Stony Brook. The Chuck Bednarik Award has been presented since 1995 to the college defensive player of the year. Thibodeaux was on the preseason watch list for the honor for the second year in a row. Kayvon Thibodeaux – Bednarik Award National Player of the Week » Set career-highs with nine tackles (eight solo) and 4.5 tackles for loss in win at UCLA. » Recorded two sacks, the fourth multi-sack performance of his career and first since 2019. » Forced a fumble for the second time this season and third in his career. » First Duck with more than four TFLs in a game since Jalen Jelks on Sept. 23, 2017. » First UO player since 2007 and one of just seven in the FBS this season to have at least nine tackles, four TFLs and two sacks in a game. » Leads all Power 5 players in TFLs (31.0) since the start of the 2019 season. » Now has 16.0 career sacks. » Pac-12 Defensive Player & Defensive Lineman of the Week » Pro Football Focus National Team of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.
  19. It looks like it all the buttons are back! Technology is WONDERFUL....when it works!
  20. My FishDuck Friends....sometimes Our Beloved Ducks make mistakes, especially in the heat-of-battle. We make them, and yet the star Tight End for the opponent drops a key pass; mistakes happen to both sides. But this is great information that I appreciate from Coach Cristobal. Question: You guys have been so consistent on special teams, but a couple of mistakes there. On the punt block, can you help diagnose what happened there, and then was there an issues with the snap on Camden’s extra point? He’s just been so consistent. I was curious if anything took place there. Cristobal: "None at all. The blocked punt is inexcusable. Miscount by the shield. The right shield. It’s a very simple count and just miscounted it. Really really upset with that one, but we’ll fix it. At the end of the day if we didn’t get it done, we’ve got to take that on as an entire organization to get better at it. The missed extra point was just, hit it poorly. Bottom line. He followed that by a kickoff that uncharacteristically went out of bounds. Now, what did we see after that? A really good extra point that split the uprights and we saw a ball get kicked eight yards deep in the end zone. You never want mistakes. We know that. But you also want to see the type of response you get out of a player. I thought Cam responded really well after the missed extra point." 21. My FishDuck Friends...there is some good information below for discussion! Question: I realize Forsyth’s injury may have factored into this a little bit but you started Bass at left tackle and then you had some other shifting around a little bit. Was that anything more than just Forsyth being out? Cristobal: "A lot of it had to do with Forsyth being out and then trying to keep… we don’t have our lineman on a pitch count, but we were a little bit banged up and we were figuring out those pieces. It would take all day to explain that on this conference call, so I’ll spare you the boring details, but we felt that we were going to have a nice rotation of guys that had played beside each other, maybe in different spots. But the matchups were going to fit, what we were running schematically was going to fit as well. Just watching tape it… I mean you had some guys grade out really, really high. That’s hard stuff to block. I know I mentioned it before, I used the term Star Was to describe their defense because, I know some of you guys probably are probably too young to remember Star Wars, was a good movie back in the day, but it comes in all kinds of different ways at you, and you’ve got to have tremendous eye discipline and you’re reaction time has got to be instantaneous. Those guys did a really good job of protecting the quarterback for the most part." Question: Going back to the offensive line. I wanted to ask about Dawson and just how valuable it was to have a guy like that who could jump into both guard spots and perform at a really high level for you guys. Cristobal: "He’s a Swiss army knife guy. That’s what he is. All tools. He’s got them all. He can snap. He also plays right tackle and left tackle. The best part about it is that we teach our lineman to learn the game from he inside out, meaning at the center position you have to know what the front is, what certain points mean on certain plays, all that kind of stuff. Being able to redirect stuff, readjust stuff, repoint stuff. He understands the game that way from the inside out and he’s gotten snaps at every single one of those positions. He’s been here a long time, been through a lot, battled some injuries, has developed his body. He’s become an excellent football player and his value was tremendous on Saturday." Question: Does he do anything that makes him more versatile and more valuable in that fluid role than the other guys? If that makes sense. Cristobal: "I think he just earned it. There’s a lot of other guys who we have that play their positions really well. We have some guys who have more flexibility than others. Guys that are older typically do, right? A little more flexibility than others. He’s just really, really smart. He understands leverage. He understands hat position. He has really good foot and body quickness. He uses his hands well, very technical. His power is getting better all the time. Now the mullet, that’s a whole different conversation, but aside from that, just a lot of positives with him and his development." Question: You really had to mix and match the offensive line a bit that last game because of some injuries and what not. But, I though they were pretty stout. What was your evaluation now that you’ve had a chance to look at that film? Cristobal: "Coach Mirabal and the offensive line did a great job. We’ve had some guys who have been banged up or dinged up and we shuffled some guys around. Other guys had also earned some playing time. We wanted to get those guys in the game as well. The one thing that was a surprise was the pregame issue with Alex Forsyth and we adjusted. The guys went in there and played their tails off. They really did. You have to. Understand that this outfit that we played brings so much pressure and even brought more pressure than we expected, more than they usually do. In the form of sometimes plus one pressures, where they’d have more guys coming than you could block. So you have to sift some stuff and you have to get a hand on two guys with one of your offensive linemen just to provide enough time. I thought not only the offensive line, but Anthony Brown was really good in sometimes having to redirect protections when they were bluffing one side and bringing it from another. Overall, I’m just really proud of that group. They’re not into praise, they just want to get back to work and get better." From 247 on interception in the end zone. 10/25/2021 Erik Skopil
  22. Thanks Haywarduck for posting this and seeing the almost invisible button that IS there, and works. We can still operate, but we have to squint!
  23. Question: You talked about how Devon has improved his practice and obviously again another week where he has the performance and production that he had. Speak to that and how he’s made that consistent now the last couple of weeks. Not just him, but Mycah has he done things not just on the field during games, but has he taken things differently in practice to get the product that he got because that’s I think near or close to a career-high by way of receptions. Cristobal: "We’re going to keep pushing both those guys. I’m going to say that. They’re continuing to things in practice that are affording these opportunities, but there’s more in the tank. There more in the thank for both those guys. The expectation is full throttle every single day, having a determination to continue to improve and push themselves and their teammates to do whatever it takes to improve. I want to stay along those lines, because I really appreciate these two guys. I know and I watch the potential and impact that they have and to me there’s more in the tank and we’ve got to get it out of them. I’m excited for them, about them. They’re great people. They’re on their way to being great players. I want to do nothing more than to challenge them and help them in any way that we can beach look, coach McClendon he doesn’t do a good job, he does a great job with those guys. We feel like every single week they’re getting better and better because we’re demanding their best, and we’ve got to keep doing it." From 247 on interception in the end zone. 10/25/2021 Erik Skopil it is real interesting to me to see what happens with these two receivers, but both, especially Williams, has been known to shine and then disappear. Thoughts?
